Please pass on my congrats, and hoping he will make it to Chief before he retires, Senior Master Sergeant is the hardest rank to make in the Air Force along with Technical Sergeant!

Commander sounds like a really good guy. Doesn't come across as an arrogant "higher up".

My commander Lt. Colonel Wilder was a great commander and even authorized and participated in a joke to then inform me I had my line number for promotion to Staff Sergeant!!

Went from Senior Airman E-4 to 2nd Lt. which is a lot easier.

When you have to fix fourscom and the g units for northern command and southcom ask them what nation they work for.

The Air Force is overly tight about promotions. One is lucky to make E-5 within a 4 four enlistment. That is discouraging.

It’s almost not the military… the Air Force is like a social club than anyone can join.

Okay, let's see you enlist and graduate basic military training, then graduate technical school and accept your first assignment to God knows where, then come back and talk. In my experience in the Air Force I as Security Police worked next to nuclear weapons, secured the SR-71 Blackbird and shook the hand of then President Jimmy Carter with a top secret clearance, how ever we treated each other like family serving side by side, I feel we all earned the best treatment we were given. I was over 1,000 miles from home the entire time.

@@GM8101PHX what’s your point? Mine was that the US Air Force is, in terms of the level of rigor and discomfort of deployment, is about a 3 out of 10. They feather their nest rather well, too well imo. They are also the most woke of the services. So, ya, it’s more like a social club.

Agree with you up to the point of "woke" which just proves you did not serve @@patrickdean4853

Well not anyone can just join the Air Force, but the Air Force is proud of the fact that it was never part of the Navy

@@russvoight1167 considering the long tradition of sodomy in the navy, you would think the Air Force was next of kin; however, the original service was the US Army Air Force that eventually was simply separated into the USAF.
