  • In this video we take a ride on Sydney Bus Museum's #2023, a 1948 Albion Venturer CX19W with Clyde Engineering bodywork. After World War II, 845 double decker buses were ordered by the NSW Government; 145 of these were Albion Venturers'. These buses mostly ran in the Warringah area, being fairly common along route 190 from Wynyard to Palm Beach which is still today Sydney's longest bus route. Bus #2023 was withdrawn in 1968, being used by various private operators afterwards until being purchased by enthusiasts. It was acquired by the museum in 1997.
The bus has a 9.08 liter engine producing 120bhp, hooked with a 4 speed gearbox. More information about this bus can be found here:

Awesome sounding gearbox and that supremely powerful Albion 9.9 litre engine. What a survivor!

I'm already aware that you want me to go to Balaclava Junction. It's on my to-do list but I have no ETA on when it'll get done.
