Brilliant video, thank you. I am always super impressed with your skills at maintenance, you make it look easy when I know if I attempted what you do it would turn bad, even without filming it! You probably don't realise just how good you are at doing the job, filming it, and explaining it so clearly. And catching all the oil - wouldn't happen for me however careful I was! Superb!
Hi Alan thank you so much for your kind words I’ve started to service the bike myself now it’s out of warranty but I’m using all bmw parts and fluid’s thank you again 🙏👍🏍️
Hi John yes having the treatment started last Thursday four months of hormone therapy injections one a month see how it goes from there thank you 👍👍🙏🏍️
Good Morning Derek , A very good step by step instruction video mate , lets face it everybody wants to save money as best as they can , so take care Derek all the best mate
Thank you what a place to have an oil filter right above the exhaust doesn’t make sense the tin foil works well used on different bikes in the past but that’s bmw for you made my mind up definitely keeping the bike thank you 🙏👍🏍️
Very interesting servicing vlog Derek although, all that electrical stuff is a bit much for me. Every vehicle with all this electronic gadgetry seems to need the service data reset. On my BMW G310r, I just back dated the date and that cleared it. Anyway, glad to see you are keeping busy mate, are able to ride at the moment. I was out on my 1982 Honda 250rs today, I love that little bike but the bugger broke down on me 5 weeks ago when I was going to an evening ride with the local club. The RAC kept me waiting for over 4 hours and never showed. I went home and left the bike. It was recovered the following day at 2pm. Since buying the bike, I have fitted two OEM second hand coils ( new one's unavailable now) as this was the problem. Hopefully, she keeps going now. All the best John 😊👍🏍
Hi John you had some bad experience with the RAC I’ve heard other bikes moaning about there service for bikers having breakdowns is there no company out there who does aftermarket coils for the Honda cause you see on here people restoring older bikes and manage to get new parts. Yes the service data on BMWs my good friend has the G310 and I reset his bike with the moto scan app and the OBD link plus brilliant bit of kit bmw won’t reset it for you if you never had the bike serviced by them. That’s why I’m doing my own servicing from now on the bikes out of warranty the only time it will go back to bmw is to have the shims done tappet things done they charge £5-£550 to have that done but I’d rather them do it. I can ride but it a bit uncomfortable at the moment feels like I’m sitting with a golf ball inside me roll on the 3rd of October fingers crossed I’m hoping it’s just a enlarged prostrate. By the way I’m still waiting well the doctor is for the results of that spine scan I had on the 31st of March be 8 weeks since I had it done. Thank you 🙏👍🏍️
brilliant job done Derek you always make things look so easy ,well worth the money that obd link unit, so all in it was the same price has bmw would of charged but you have the unit now ready for future jobs well done
Hi Bob thank you be saving loads of money from now just got to do the brake fluid next week and that’s it all done till next service date or the miles have been done 🙏👍🏍️
Great job Derek, theres nothing more satisfying than doing your own maintenance, which reminds me that I need to service the Honda again. Hope you're well buddy
Hi Sean yes all good just waiting for the 3rd to come around that bmw oil filter I had to tap it on with the hammer bmw said 78mm 12 flute remover which is think I’ll by the HI Flow filter next time it has the socket fitting on built on to it that OBD Link 101 works great reset the service date and year worth the investment that. Thank you 🙏👍🏍️
Hi John unfortunately the test came back positive there going to start me on hormone injections the prostate cancer has been caught at very early stage so there saying it should work thank you 🙏
I spent 20 years wishing I'd bought a bike lift lol. Yea, things you do to save money, but at least when you do it yourself you know it's been done right, sore knees and all.
Hi I know home servicing saves loads I’ve got a table lift but it’s far to heavy for me to lay it down it’s in the corner of the cave need my son to help but wasn’t around yesterday my back gave me some pain last doing on the floor thank you 🙏👍🏍️
@@1786crafty hi my bike 3years old August gone there’s no way I’m paying £175 for an oil service same goes for the brake fluid change now I bought the Link plus OBD and the moto scan app I’ll save loads it more or less paid for it self on the first use I find absolutely fantastic bits of kit thank you and thank you for your reply Derek 👍🏍️

Hi Nev got no fuel in the bike that’s the message it’s saying I got the complete service kit from bmw Swansea in wales for £106.99 that’s only a few £ pound more than 3rd party sells so might has well buy bmw service stuff hope your keeping well 🙏👍🏍️
Excellent especially the obd part. I like spannering my own bikes but haven’t had the need for an obd on a bike but have a few different car ones. The car ones are cheapos but they have proved invaluable for resetting codes when they throw them for no reason on my and my mates cars. I’d love a bike lift now cos bloody sciatica for a year now. No help from nhs except put up with it
@@volt8684 hi the OBD well worth the cost cause bmw motorrad wont reset the service warning or date if they haven’t serviced it I’ve got the bike lift but to heavy for me to move on my own my sciatica and back killed last night up and down got to do the brake fluid next week thank you 🙏👍🏍️
