So hello yes i was in a pretty bad car accident where the car hit me and knocked me down and ran over my leg and snapped it. OUCH! I am in recovery but this is why i have not been posting and i've felt awful about it. I'm working on getting better and recovering from the leg break cos i had so much planned for xmas but i'm just gonna have to take it one day at a time.

Hey, she won't have to pay any medical bills as that's all free anyway but it's likely her insurance company will have to compensate me, the police showed up so fast they were practically there before the crash even happened so they have all her details and took statements from everyone so it will definitely get sorted in some way c:

Having a broken bone straightened and set is honestly the worst pain ever, I passed out when they did it
Yeah they prepped me so much before, saying it was gonna be really painful, and they were all prepped with the pain meds
And then...it actually felt kind of good?? Hahaha, it might have just been cos of the level of pain meds they gave me just before they did it but i actually thought it felt kind of satisfying

katie jane my father and I have both been hit by a car and suffered minor injuries. My dad when he was 11. He got hit crossing the street at the cross walk. A car going about 30 hit him. He was somehow able to grab the door handle and it came off. Then they stopped screamed at him and drove off.
I was 19, crossing my road from my mail box 55mph road. I got hit by a SUV coming around he corner. He swerved got out I was on my feet took me to the side of the road called 911 and was so helpful.
I can't imagine if I had been as hurt as Connie and had the driver be that terrible.
(By the way my dad has a concussion that he got over. I was completely road rashed down my left side and has whiplash. Both healed fine)
I hope Connie can heal up soon.

I got a hit by a car earlier this year and I literally got up and walked away (Not my brightest move!). Nothing was broken but I did hit my head pretty hard, it wasn't until I had walked home and called my mother twice on the way, repeating myself that anyone realised I actually had memory loss. I lost around a month of my memory, I had just got a new bank card and had been given a new pin that month and had forgotten it resulting in nearly loosing it again whilst trying to pay for a taxi to the hospital. I had forgotten all of my Uni work, I had forgotten my Gran had died and was reminded via Facebook and to top it off - I had a bath delivered to my house the next morning because I was making a film involving a bath of milk later that month.
All that and I found it hilarious!
The adrenaline kicks in and whilst the people around you freak out you still just can't really comprehend it's happening. I'm so glad you're ok! Plus you now have a story to tell, although people will never let you live it down. Do remember to leave the house alone asap, I know for a fact if I hadn't had left the house on my own for a while it would have created unnecessary anxiety. Good Luck!

If you didn't get the plate number maybe one of the shops close to where you got hit does. I would be getting a lawyer as soon as possible!

Rachel Kaparek It's one of those situations where people were in the wrong place at the wrong time, mostly likely she was distracted by her children in the back of the car momentarily, it only takes a split second for things like this to happen, especially assuming there were no traffic lights on this particular part of the road. The woman is probably extremely embarrassed and remorseful for what she did, but panic can make people act out in really weird ways hence her shouting at Connie

I get some of your point, but it is the driver's responsibility to be alert and prepare to always yield to a crossing pedestrian, unless the the situation is that the pedestrian is running across or jaywalking in a high speed area (and you are unable to stop or didn't react fast enough), then it is less of the driver's fault for hitting them

(And yes apparently getting it by a car runs in my family considering my mom was riding her bike when she was 16 got hit by a car who didn't stop as she was walking he bike across the cross walk got flipped onto the hood fell off and the car kept driving and a passing car yelled at her to get out of the road)

I don't have Addisons but I have the opposite of it, Cushing's disease which is hypercortisolism instead of hypocortisolism and I have to be on chemo to suppress my adrenals and have gotten surgery on my pituitary. And diabetes. So even though Addisons is different from Cushings I understand the mechanism behind it and realize just how difficult of a disease it is. She definitely inspires me!

The same thing happened to my gran earlier this year (maybe about 6th of January?) and she's had such a struggle with her leg and all the insurance that is still getting sorted out (I stayed with her for a few months until she was able to walk again and go back to work). I am so glad you're okay! You're such a trooper.. this is freaking me out though. I have a knee surgery tomorrow and my tibia may need to be worked on as well (my tibia very is crooked).. only way I know how surgeons fix crooked bones is to break them. great now I'll have a metal rod in my tibia. Not your fault for scaring me though lolol!! GLAD YOU'RE OKAY!! YOU GET THE TROOPER OF THE YEAR AWARD.

My mum got hit by a cyclist a year ago and he yelled at her for not looking both way when she stepped of the bus into the path (not a dual lane i might add). Some people just can't see when they have done wrong. God forbid im in a situation like this i hope i can handle it as well as you ❤️

I've had so much pain before that my nerves just stopped sending signals to my brain. idk how much pain needs to be sent through a nerve before it just shuts off, but I was there.

At least I got the means to fight the government when I turned 18 and eventually got a blood test taken, revealing I had Bechterew's disease.

Having broken my ankle twice-- though both times not nearly to the same extent of what you've had to endure-- I so feel you. The part about the nurse tripping and clutching you leg floored me; occurrences like that were my worst fear the days prior to getting my hard cast. As far as humorous broken bone incidences go, the second time I broke my ankle was when I jumped up in excitement at how dashing my future-to-be boyfriend looked wearing his Christmas sweater in July and snapped my ankle upon landing-- good times! I wish you a speedy (and friend-filled) recovery! A broken leg is the best excuse for spending hours upon hours of binge watching anime.

It was over a year ago that I got a hit by a car outside my house on the way to school. I was as badly injured as you were and to be honest, I'm glad about that as I am a ballerina. I feel you Connie. I was at the mall on Boxing Day, and it had rained the day before, so there was ice on the road. While I was getting into my car I slipped and broke my knee, but when I went to the hospital they said there was nothing wrong with it and told me to START WALKING. When I broke my knee a piece broke off so when I started walking like they told me to, the piece started moving. Two days later they told us that we had to come to hospital immediately, got a cat scan and I learned I broke my knee. 20 days later, (yes 20) I got surgery. I still can't walk but I'm healing well. But I wish that I had support like you did. Going into surgery I was terrified, I didn't know what was going to happen and only being 12 years old I only thought the worst was going to happen, when I woke up I started crying and said "MY LEG IS GONEEE" (it wasn't, just the morphine talking) anyways, I love you and I hope you're doing well. -steph
