I can't imagine Sacha Baron Cohen saying anything like that. The role went to the person who took Freddie seriously [as Roger Taylor said, SBC did not] and who had the heart and mind for it.
Rami Malek has been acting for awhile and he’s always been terrific but with Elliot Alderson and now Freddie Mercury he has everyone “woke.” Love him! He deserves all the accolades he gets.
Playing flaming gay Freddie Mercury without it being cheesy had to be a very talented actor hence why everyone was impressed with that role. It's very very few who could play such a raging flaming flamboyant gay queen without cheese out there
@@cenaakashakash the OP said he deserves a nomination...the next comment says he deserves an oscar...I said he DESERVES the oscar for playing *FREDDIE* as in i was being more specific so that he gets the oscar for this role THIS time!
I like the scene in the movie where Freddie is arguing with the record executive with a broad northern English accent. And Freddie with his well spoken, London accent. But really they're both North American. Because the record executive is played by Mike Myers. Who makes a Wayne's world reference. Brilliant.
He’s walking the line of being a method actor, he said that once he heard he was being considered for the roll, he started watching queen, even said that he watched the live aid concert countless times to get it right, took multiple classes to move like Freddie and talk like him, I wouldn’t be surprised if it bled into his real life interviews
Yea I’ve been watching people ask him the same questions. While it’s their job, it gets boring even for me. It’s cool how nice he was while asking her to do that.
Lessa Robinson read a lot to pick up words, write a lot to ingrain them into your thoughts, and then PRACTICE speaking! Practice and practice forming your thoughts and voicing them. Take your time when you talk. Everyone is always in a rush to get out as much info as they can without thinking. Don’t be like that! Take your time! Have deep conversations over text and you’ll someday be able to voice them because the words will be in your head!
Lessa Robinson Don’t rush when you speak to someone. Just stay calm and thoughtful. Really, truly listen when others speak to you, such as asking them more about themselves. Remember that we are all just human beings, no one is more important than the other and worth stuttering to! :) When you talk, don’t say it if you don’t mean it. Also, look up videos on your throat chakra to help. You’ll get there!! Love you. 💙
I agree, read more and your vocabulary will expand. The more words you know the more clarity you will have with your thoughts and the more clearly you will be able to articulate them. As you practice, you will become more competent. With competence comes confidence and as you become more sure of yourself, your speech will improve. Also recognize, you have value as you are; you don’t have to improve to be a valuable and beautiful person. There will always be others who will judge you, if you understand we all have that inner light which can’t be diminished, the import of the opinions of others will lessen. So basically, just love yourself.
Rami is a wonderful actor, and seems so humble and genuine. In another interview he described Freddie as “a sweet, gorgeous soul”, which really came across in his portrayal. Rami’s respect and admiration for Freddie is really clear watching the movie and all the interviews he’s done, which I love. Really hope he gets at least nominated for his performance! X
I could go on and watch all of Rami’s interviews nonstop. This man never fails to have a connection with any of his interviewers. Ah precious special bean ❤️
this reporter is really good. i see her in a ton of interviews and she always has really good talking points and questions and is really respectful to the actors unlike some others.
excellent interview - i can understand just how 'stale' these can get, same ol', same ol', so nice to hear some fresh questions....and of course, Rami is is ever the gentleman!
A good interview as she did ask questions that were not usually asked by others. I'm always glad to hear when the lead actor (and other actors) say that everyone got along and enjoyed working together. This was a very good interview.
He reminds me a lot of Damien Lewis in terms of how he carries himself and how speaks: he's so quiet and reserved until he speaks and instead brings a role stealing presence to their characters.
Every time I read a comment about how Rami is sexy or handsome I think he does Freddie justice since to me, Freddie is the most handsome man ever! I'll watch the movie again soon.
I love Rami a lot like got him as my wallpaper and everything but I feel like he’s just sooo intimidating ! Ughhh he scares me a lot but he’s just amazing .
As a hardcore Queen fan for many years, although quite a lot of the film didn't sit right with me, I couldn't have been more pleased with Rami Malek's performance :)

There is something so Erie about him. But I guess that's what special actors must have. He gives me the creeps yet he is so mezmorising at the same time.
