Following reports of Opal Stone being found in the mining region of Eyam , we venture ourselfs deep down an abandoned fluorspar mine to inspect its geology and looking for Opal
I didn't realise we have opel in the UK. Wow, interesting about the fake boulders, it's a bloody mine, do you really need to add to it? lol. You should retitle this video! Your friend is so knowledgable. Why is he not rich already lol. I actually found myself leaning over when you were looking down the shaft! Copper at the blast point, it's leached since so probably wouldn't have realised it's existance.
Sorry I made an error It’s Sallet Hole mine not salt ash. And It was 2 million tons of Galena are estimated to be in the ground around Eyam and High cliff if anyone wondered what I was referring to. Thank you God bless
Used to know opening into one section.but so long ago when I was a school boy. off on the right nearing the top of Winnits pass. memory plays tricks sometimes. I'm sure as we crawled trough there was a drop off .
That's funny, I was watching a video from over there not too long ago, they were in a mine and shined a light on this bit of mineralization and asked "what's this?" I commented that it looked like opal, but didn't think it possible. Can't for the life of me remember what video that was
Extremely interesting! I love geology but as i cannot explore underground myself, i love to see it through explorers eyes. Thank you 😊 Your friend is extremely knowledgeable! Is he a geologist? I enjoyed this so much, i have subscribed!
This video is Absolutely clueless on formation of opal look at the geographical info on the area and quartz and gold there epithelial 99% of the time in the uk except Northern Ireland and the tundra

He needs to come to Cornwall as we have naturally occurring Cornish Opals here. x
Love the crystals Antonio. They’re like jewels.
Yup Flourite is so brittle I fully avoid buying any online due to chance of arriving broken. Would love to find some though 😍

The Purple crystals, are they what you would call Blue John?
Blue John is a variety of the same mineral -fluorite -, that has a unique specific colour zoning that can only be found in Castleton

How great pal, good explores
Very cool. If you're ever going back there take a Blacklight Flashlight, it'll show up any opal.
Seeing those fossils reminds me that the earth is simply a revolving door of species.
