All of you guys taking shots at these drivers are completely overlooking a very key factor... track conditions. What the first half of the bunch had to deal with was a wet track that's slowly drying up meaning grip varies a lot throughout the course and is super unpredictable at that. That's why you saw a lot of them completely fuck up on the entry in the first corner either sending it to the wall or hucking it way too early and completely missing the first outside zone. That unpredictability shakes up your confidence behind the wheel a lot and thus makes your driving look a lot more shaky too. Ever seen what kind of a shitshow Formula D USA is in the rain, even though they got super intense tandems and shit on dry tarmac? And they're on well maintained race tracks too, while this looks like a non-permanent street course with rough tarmac to me.
To further prove my point, you can see how the track is visibly drying up throughout the video and runs start consistently getting better towards the end and people start sending it with a lot more confidence. Not to mention the fact that they actually entry uphill. Yes, elevation changes matter. A lot.
On top of all that, check out the last run of the video. That's Mad Mike Whiddett. He has definitely made a name for himself at this point and proven that he is very much a quality driver - just check his win totals and championships. Yet he still had a lot of trouble with his line and got a 61. So yeah, those guys in the video aren't as bad as you think. To the untrained eye, especially someone who's never done drifting in real life, they might look like average joes at best, but if you know anything about the sport, you know better.

Why are the drivers all incredibly inconsistent with their driving? Hayato Miyoshi's driving was pretty good scoring a 88 during this round, but his results for his previous rounds are not very good...

These are just a lot rich kids that put this event together .thats all it is ..the real drift cars of Japan race in the mountains an the old ship yards .just like the states drag racing on back roads an roll racing on the highway ,I can honestly say their is some nice cars but no driver on this track
