This has to be one of the best overviews of the YC I have ever seen. We sailed on the Seashore this past July in a YC interior cabin. Loved it. This was our 4th YC cruise with MSC. Well worth the extra money for what is included. I have to agree with you, Butchers Cut is one of the best at sea steak houses and the pizza we had delivered to our cabin was awesome! Keep up the great content.
We've done yacht club twice and sailed with a few premium brands since. On reflection, YC delivers far more than we realised and for that reason, we'll be going back. It's nice to feel special and MSC makes that happen, it's well worth the money in our opinion.
FYI, its not "High Tea", its "Afternoon Tea". High tea was actually a workingman's dinner. Enjoyed your review and looking forward to our two booked Yacht Club cruises.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Okay, yes thought it was good to kick it up a bit for them. They seem to bust their butts to make you happy! Yes we will be sailing the Yacht Club...were communicating with our travel agent as we speak. Was going to go to the Caribbean but the wife wants to try a Northern Europe or Med cruise in May...We'll see...It'll be our first MSC cruise.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 I would’ve thought tipping extra as good as well. Yet I’ve seen several post, videos, statements from the cruise line itself that they prefer you don’t because there are many people behind the scenes who participate in creating the experience, not just a few staff that you interact with. Yet I would presume it’s one of the perks of being “promoted” to a Butler… Thoughts?
Hi Don, quick question… If you are in the Yacht Club and find a drink that is above the $14 limit, do you pay the difference? Or do you pay the entire price of the drink like Cunard? And does the included drink package work on their private island Ocean Cay? Thanks.
Great question. You only pay the difference with the drink package. But there is a huge menu of included drinks in yacht club. The package does work on island at bars. But there is an up charge coffee shop and ice cream parlor on ocean cay that isn’t included. When are you sailing?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Thanks! Don’t have one booked yet, but very interested in trying the Yacht Club experience. Thank you for the helpful information on the yacht club.
@Eatsleepcruise1 So if I am in Yacht Club, and go to the Champagne Bar in the main ship, I just pay the difference? Or do you think that the unique concoctions they have the Champagne Bar are also available in the yacht club itself?
@@michelehaase5197 Good question. Here is my situation… I’m not picky - I can drink most anything, beer is my favorite. But my wife only likes certain Chardonnays and Champagnes. She’s not a cheap date… 😁 I would be “put off” if I pay for a “Yacht Club” experience, and had to account for, and pay extra for each glass of Champagne we had because it is not included in the package. Just trying to avoid a “nickel and dime-ing” experience.
We had breakfast. You have to be out cabin by 7,30 we went for breakfast then which took hour. We waited intop lounge as being picked up at 9 so out butler took us down we collected our suitcases which butler put on trolley for us then we went couple yards for our lift. Wanted to take our butler home ha ha. Embarkation was great you park by yacht club gazebo and someone takes you all the way through to yacht club private part to do passport photos and order your bottle of wine rum whisky which will be brought to your cabin, then after champagne a butler will take you onto ship to top sail. We had cocktails and went to lunch. Lovely enjoy
Wow, even while being inthe YC, you purchased a specialty dining package? Is that because you like variety, or you did not think the food was going to be good enough? Very specific question - if I’m in YC, and I would like a sushi roll from the Japanese restaurant, but I don’t want to go there and eat it, can I order it and they will bring it to me, for instance on the YC deck for lunch?
We are big fans of the steakhouse and teppanyaki, and we knew we would want to dine there on the trip. As for getting sushi delivery, you could ask your butler to grab it for you, but I am not 100% sure if they can get it as it is a specialty restaurant. There is a room service menu where they can get food for you at all hours. If they did go to the sushi restaurant, they would charge you for food. What ship are you thinking of sailing on in the YC?
@ we live in New York, and as my husband no longer wants to fly, I am limited to the Meraviglia. Yes, I expect that I would pay for a sushi roll from the specialty restaurant… I just don’t think I want to eat it there on that deck. It just doesn’t seem like an appealing place to eat - looks kinda like you’re sitting in the corridor of a mall.
Great question. There is a vegetarian option each night. There is also a separate vegetarian menu. But they are very accommodating so if you let them know you’re vegan, I’m sure they will be able to customize offerings for you. If you’re on MSC Seashore, Rafael will take great care of you!

Very informative video, Thank You!...Gratuities...what do you tip a butler? Is it included in the fare?
Gratuities are included, but we did tip our butler and junior butler extra. We did $200 and $100, respectively. Are you sailing in the Yacht Club?
