I tried Carry On and it's converted me to embrace overweight mining runs and that was before the Neves pickaxe was added. With Carry On and the Neves in your hand you're still able to move at a very good speed, and you end up doing less trips between your base and mine which becomes a factor if your clearing an entire mine and taking everything. It also gets stronger as your inventory slots increase, so the backpack changes have made it better as well. I highly recommend trying it if you haven't.

Since the talent update, I haven't tested the weight reduction talents, but from what I've seen, you can get up to 90% weight reduction on ore, though it takes quite a few talent points to do it. I prefer a single point to get to Carry On and then 4/4 for that talent. With speed talents (arguably better than anything else) and gear, you can sprint at the base sprint speed or better while fully loaded while save a bunch of talent points.

    1) Thx for the icarus vids, i just started the game and your vids are nicely done.
    2) This particular video has to be taken with a grain of salt. I hope its not rude to say, but i have a hunch statistics/math isnt your forte. For example, the 5% chance to craft extra double ammo. That literally just translate into "5% ammo crafted" in the long run.
Another good example is the "Stoking the flame" talent (not stocking, stoking : P) that gives +10%/+15% smelting speed. Maybe placing 1 point there to unlock the +25% deployables crafting speed is worth, im hoping the deployables crafting speed will translate to extractors, but thats besides the point. But not only is +10% smelting speed is largely irrelevant, the SECOND SKILLPOINT in there is extremely wasted. First of all is it +5% instead of +10%, where the first skillpoint gives from 100%->110% smelting speed, keep in mind that the second gives from 110%-115%, so relatively the gain is even smaller. You could say 10% smaller on top of being half in size already.
Especially since i think the smelting is actually the building "crafting" the smelting recipes, so you could just grab the +25% deployables crafting speed (and get it on everything) instead of grabbing +4,5% extra for just your smelter.
Sorry if it came across as negative, like i said i really appreciate your icarus vids, i just felt i could contribute some tangible info here. Im still working on testing the +25% deployables crafting speed talent, but its a bit of work : P If im correct, though, it could be one of the single best talents in the game, to be frank.

I have had problems with the homing instinct talent. Seems like it will lock onto the closest or easiest target which isn't always the one I'm aiming at. It's been so extreme at times that the arrow has gone 90° to the left or right killing something I didn't see behind a rock or tree allowing for the predator in front of me, that I'm actually trying to kill, to close the gap and injure or kill me. Down right aggravating more often than not. Good video, thanks for sharing.

"Supply and Demand" on the bow tree says "Damage of Crafted Arrows" but you read the word arrows and said the word bows, and then explained it like it applied to bows. Is the tooltip in error or did you just read that wrong?

    1)In Ressources
I like to take an extra yield on Iron. It will give you this extra combined with workshop pickaxe, that you need to open whole tech that requires Iron. Usually with that you get enough iron for most of your needs just from 2-3 caves , that even if you go for firearms and 200 bullets.
And considering you will invest points with that , I like to take Logsman. You say seconds of time....but at the end it saves you lot of time from little. And also less pain on manual tasks.
    2)In Exploration
10% weight carry - does not worth it.
If you are dying to get some extra weight capacity - just get 20% from Ressources . But you dont really need it ,if you have taken x3 first one. Playing solo , even the harash raids will lot of supplies (and workbench and structres) you hold about 135kg.
Personally I take this x3 move speed, cause its meta , and thats it.
    3)Hunting
100000% agree with bones yield. Only good way to get lot of Epoxy and you need lot of it.
So extra bones are a must get.
    4) Farming got reworked and it is a must have investment now. The new perk for gun powder recipe is a meta.
But anyway - I always like to get food durability, so I never in real need of it and dont need to think of a conservation.
5)Reparing - meh. Stamina ... well fine , but still meh. You can get those buffs with food, right?
But yeah , if you have extra points , why not , a good pick.
6)Tools are a must have on early stages, while you level up etc.
After , yeah , 100000% agree , workshop covers your needs so you can free points.
7)Building - 100000% agree on Stone structures and why not take smelting speed. Especially useful for tier 3-4 ores.
But the Rod - meh...With some experience you can build up a little outpost in like 15-20 minutes to face of weather problems.
However I suggest you invest few points into Stone structures weight!...When you play solo , just to keep it safe, you want to get stone pre-made 1 square house with you while going into Arctics or Desert. That will save you weight capacity.
8)10000% agree - firearms are nuts
Durability may be a thing , but its only 10-15-20% , which means 110-115-120 shots , which is....pityfull.
The pb is not on the talent , but 10k durability even on hunting rifle.
    9)Bow is a meta.
So...yeah...100% pick all damage move lock boosts.
Just dont take crafting , since you will be using workshop bow and almost never more than Longbow in crafted bows.

Your video about the skills is not bad. But some things I really noticed negatively is that you don't recommend the skill in the hunting tree that shows the hp bar of animals. It's also available in the solo tree, but if you use the skill in the hunting tree, you don't lose any solo points and the skill also works in co-op missions. You also misunderstood one thing in the bow tree and that was the skill at the bottom left. It deals more damage to crafted arrows not to bows.
Finally, I have to address one thing, and that is that you don't mention the skill in the exporation skill that reduces the stamina consumption of jumps. if you have this skill and generally a lot of stamina regeneration and movement speed, you have almost infinite stamina with bunny hopping (on straight surfaces or slightly downhill) this technique is by far the most important thing to know when it comes to skills, since movement speed is by far the most important thing in the game.
I hope I don't come across as arrogant here and yes, I know your tut is almost a year old, but I wanted to point it out anyway :)

Reduced carry weight of ores, increased weight capacity and mining attack speed and mining radius are absolute core in my opinion. You do so much mining in the game, especially for the later missions where you need to get to tier 4 that you just can’t go without them. I personally like to speed run so I take the 10% movement speed while carrying exotics cuz I occasionally find an exotic deposit when mining and that extra 10% will be there for the rest of the mission

I really don't get the necessity of spending a point for the sticks. If you already need that much of sticks to begin with then it means you already going to spend that time or is gonna be a long time before finishing the mission. So do the carpenter bench!!!
If you are in a quick mission you dont need that many sticks. To me it doesn't make sense!!!!

    • @WebGuyMikeFL
      @WebGuyMikeFL 2 года назад

Until they added respec, I had a character without the ability to turn wood to sticks. It was awful! I literally created a new character and leveled him up just so I had that talent. The biggest problem is the copper. Many missions require no mining or smelting but if you couldn't make sticks until you teched up you'd be wasting all that time. Different approach, I guess.

    • @wiskrimsbadplay7549
      @wiskrimsbadplay7549 2 года назад

@@WebGuyMikeFL there is copper on every cave. If you already at that point you already mining. You are not going out of your way to do a bench just for sticks. If is a short mission you dont need that many of sticks for the talent to be worth it. Still don't see the hype from everyone about this talent.
