It disable the whole ABS system. They recommend to run wires to it and put a switch inside. I personally will not use that for too long due to the complex abs system the gx has. It will be good for some fun and to get out of a pickle when you need some tire spin.
Thanks for the video. I am not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but that “Brake” light is probably not for the handbrake, but because you unplugged the sensor which detects low brake fluid, and it is trying to warn you of that condition.

Thanks for the video Tanner! I recently purchased an 03 Lexus gx with low miles. I live in Minnesota and it snowed a foot this week. The traction control makes me feel useless in some scenarios. Even with snow tires at Slow speeds I felt like I was powerless. But at high way speeds the assists are quiet useful. I Just unplugged and instantly did 5 donuts in an empty parking lot. Thanks for putting the smile back on my face lol I was beginning to feel like a grandma with all the assists. One thing to mention, on the 03 Lexus gx470 when you unplug it did take abs away!

Holy fuck, I've been looking for a way to do this without having to add a switch. THANK YOU! Going to drive my car tomorrow and FINALLY do some donuts without being in 4H with VSC off.

@@TannerRichieMain So the short answer is, it works amazingly well. That said, my ebrake light, VSC off, VSC track, are all on and won't go away. Totally don't care though. Donuts for days. Thanks again, Tanner!
Yes, that’s the one bummer. 🤷♂️ I left it unplugged on my 4Runner for about a year, and all the lights went back off after plugging it back in. Probably going to do the same with the GX! Glad it’s unleashed the donuts for you.
have 2003 GX470 (194K)..love it, Question- how to deactivate the Height Control on normal daily driving.? Dont need the back to raise up everytime starting up and drive....I SUV goes to (N )Normal with 4 speed Shift on H,....thx Robert
to disable height control completely there are 3 fuses you have to pull, two on driver footwell area and one underhood. Did that after switching to springs in back. If you still have factory air suspension, I would not do the disable like this, it will probably mess up the ride of the vehicle (maybe deflate airbags in rear).
I don't know if I have a bad sensor somewhere or if this is supposed to happen, but my gx470 turns those systems off on its own after a couple tries of getting unstuck and wheels spinning. Like, it tries to use atrac by default, but when I start spinning too much in mud or snow or sand it just quits trying and spins all wheels on its own. However, the only way to turn these lights off after I'm unstuck is to turn the vehicle off and back on.
Heres a freebie, Take the air filter box top loose and snap out the charcoal filter inside the top , which is just to placate the epa. It is a joke. On the Highlander forum theres a long story on people raving about more power over it. Gas mileage didnt change enough to consider, but it didnt lower either. A free power increase, took me 15 minutes, LOL. If needed, just push it back in there snug for inspection,
Thanks man! Appreciate the comment. It’s definitely my preference at this point, and it’s nice that on the GX470 it doesn’t turn off ABS like it did on my 2002 4Runner. 🤷♂️ Appreciate you checking out my vid!
I’m having an issue with the brake being applied on curves. Shortly locks up front pass tire. Scares you to death and unsafe. I’m hoping this would deactivate the control system that is messing with me? It applies it’s own braking bc it thinks I’m losing control due to incorrect information coming from a sensor/s up front
If one of my front tires is lower then the others the traction control will violently stop one side of the brakes while going around a corner and it violently jerks vehicle to one side and it has gone to next lane a few times. I unplugged it from master cylinder as it seems for me safer without it on. Anyone else get this? I may connect a switch to turn it off if it happens while driving but surely created more trouble than not for myself
I've never gotten that...but that sounds scary. I do feel in certain scenarios it's safer having that thing disconnected. I don't like how Lexus'/Toyota's traction control cuts ALL power at times.
Agreed. The peel out Marxists need to stay away from my vehicles. Pretty soon we won’t be able to drive ourselves. I even read they’re trying to pass legislation to blow in an alcohol monitor for new vehicles to even start snd drive?? How will any politicians get around then?
I’m going through a short tire lockup under normal braking pressure on a right curve. Dangerous bc it is reading something wrong. This disconnect may turn off that wacky brain that is trying to put me in a ditch.
You just hold the tc button for 5 seconds on 5th gen 4runner to turn off until next start... If you just press snd let go it will turn back on after going past 25mph.
Wouldn’t you have a traction control button you can push and hold in the 460? I had an LS460 (same engine) and it had one. Center console, have to press and hold for about 3-5 seconds I believe, but I’m not sure if it’s the same on this model GX!
