This game proved the Greek gods ARE the cock of the walk in the GoW Universe. P.S.: I mean... Norse gods are a joke. Odin is smart and keen asf, but that's about it.
Dude are you kidding me...Thor would've absolutely been able to outmatch Kratos. I cannot think of many gods in Greek who can outmatch Kratos, except for Zeus I suppose. And...maybe Hermes? Here except for Odin, the major gods can in fact put up a fight against Kratos. And mind you, Kratos hasn't gotten any weaker remember how he lifted the entire realm travel room in 2018 GoW? Thor is an absolute beast, Heimdall can see his intentions, Baldr feels no pain so can fight Kratos forever. Look, I'm not undermining the Greek gods okay they were all pretty strong too. But I don't think any of them could outmatch Kratos in any way. In here, Heimdall himself ACTUALLY dodges Kratos' (what even Hermes with his superhuman reflexes wasn't able to do) every move and were it not for Draupnir Heimdall could've beaten Kratos. Afterwards Heimdall just got too arrogant and egotistical which is why he lost.
The thing about the greek pantheon in gow is that a lot of stuff in there is just comically big and physically strong, while in the norse there is a lot more focus on magic and stuff Still baldur and thor would give young kratos a lot of trouble if not straight up win, let's not forget that both beat up a giant snake infinite in size (and in Thor's case twice) thor can just straight up fly and KILLED KRATOS AND REVIVED HIM IN THE BEGINNING, and baldur would just outlive him by just being immortal
I mean norse gods are quite literally warlords, idk any main greek gods who fought in the titan war (other than zeus, hades and poseidon i guess), but most of the greeks are cocky and over reliant of their powers and kratos was clever enough to exploit that
I am so disappointed that gameplay wise, Thor is like the easiest boss. Should have made him harder than Berserker King + Gna combined. Maybe there will be a "True Version Thor" we get to fight in NG+?
To be fair, the first time you encounter him you literally have only your Axe and armor set at lv1, him being as strong as a Valkyrie+Berserker would be tedious to deal with. The second time you encounter him you are so overpowered it is a cakewalk. Story bosses often get that treatment. It wasn't much different for Baldur back in the 2018 game. 1st fight was piss easy because you were just at the start of the game so he was scaled down proportionally, last battle was piss easy because you were maxed out, he was never a match for Sigrun, much like how Thor is no much for Gna and the Berserker King.
First time he takes it easy on you and gets a little more serious towards the end but the last battle he went all out and he was hard enough. They showed why he is the god of thunder. He wasn't even close to being one of the easiest boss fights. If u say that u probably skipped /rushed side stuff as there some very easy side bosses
Just play it on GMGOW mode then. Most people would rather a boss that is integral in advancing the story be harder then a optional boss battle that is hard as fuck.
Officially speaking, Thor is the strongest of all the Norse gods, as stated in game dialogue and an official PlayStation blog from Santa Monica Studios (which would include Gna, a Vanir goddess). His boss fights are ‘easy’ because they are part of the main story, and making them super difficult would cause story progression to be more troublesome, especially in the first fight where you have base level gear and little to no upgraded skills whatsoever Gna and the Berserker King are optional side-quest and secret bosses not important to the main story or even take place *after* it. They aren't compulsory for you to fight, but completing them would give big rewards
