As you can see both Thomas Alsgaard & Christian Zorzi exchanged some few ¨vocabulary¨ along the way ;). Both Thomas Alsgaard vs Christian Zorzi was arguing about which one of them was going to pull/set-pace first. But it was as we all know a intense battle for both the glory and victory.
But Thomas Alsgaard was at the time know for excellent sprint ability, so it was no surprise at end, but still Christian Zorzi made brave move & tried give everything at last 50 M.
But in the end of the day all both were good friend again :)

This was one of my favorite things I've ever seen in sport. I wonder why it's not more famous. I caught it randomly alone during a late night Olympics broadcast many years ago,and look it up on RUclips every few years. I can get sort of choked up when I tell people about it. Sweet justice!

@MsBlume777 They talked about Alsgaard not being the most popular guy in Italy, and how Zorzi had to use methods that were not very good sportsmanship. Alsgaard got a little angry with him and probably used that for some extra power in the finish.

Didn't see particularly bad spormanship behavior by our athlete Zorzi. But hey, for me i have no problem, i admire and have tons of respect for Norway. Norway was the best team, they deserved the Gold, we deserved the silver. I remember well those years. We won in 94, then they crushed us in 98 and 2002. We had our final moment of glory in 06 in home olympics

Porażka Zorziego wtedy, to była mała sensacja. Zorzi, to ówczesny czołowy sprinter, coś jak Pellegrino teraz, a Alsgaard potrafił zafiniszować, ale to nie był specjalista, a tu tempo na ostatniej zmianie było niskie, więc to wszystko grało na korzyść Włocha. Dwa, że jak Zorzi wyszedł na zakręcie przed Alsgaarda, to nie miał prawa tego przegrać. Spaktakularna porażka. Powetował sobie to w 2006r. biegnąć ostatnią zmianę w Turynie po złoto, ale to już nie te emocja i walka, ponieważ wbiegł sam z dużą przewagą na metę.
