@@askiff1415 That is a pretty ridiculous statement. Of course Pinsent and Redgrave where a decent pair but they would not be close in a race with those two. And these two have never lost a race in the pair in their entire lives, how are they compared to Pinsent and Redgrave?

The Kiwi pair lost races very very early on before their first world championships pretty ,you the same as Pinsent & Redgrave. But one both pairs were crowned world champions they never lost a race and retired world and Olympic champions. Of course what the Kiwi pair don’t have is the longevity at the top of world and Olympian competition that the British duo enjoyed.

Both Pinsent and Redgrave are rowing legends, everyone acknowledges this, to begin with. However, specifically in the pair, Hamish and Eric were miles ahead in terms of both facing better opponents and longevity and dominance. They never lost a single race in the pair. No semis no finals, not a single race. The last race they lost was probably the 2008 olympics BUT in the 4- not the pair (huge difference, cause they had 2 other guys together and the New Zealand camp also got poisoned if you remember correctly from Mahe not being able to get olympic gold). They had like 10 years unbeaten in any race. Pinsent and Redgrave went into the 4- when they started losing, like Pinsent and Cracknell did in 2004, like Hodge and Reed did in 2012. They are legends but not in the same level of dominance (thats what the data says not me) and they took medals in the 4- and m2+(Redgrave) so you cannot tell me winning the m2+ is the same as the m2-...

Hamish especially is a beast for his power to weight ratio, and stronger that Andy Hodge (i really respect Andy btw and he is one of the best strokemen ever). Andys best2k was 5:46 whereas Hamish did a 5:44 or better if i remember correctly. I am not totally sure about Reeds best 2k but i think Eric was stronger (close to 5:40 or better).
