I think we need a shootout between ML SoundLab, STL (Amphub), Nembrini and Bogren Digital comparing their plugins up against the real Block Letter (and maybe also the 6505+).

There’s so many to choose from. I also have a 6505+ that’s been sitting for like 6 months that I need to use for something

@@TaylorDanley yeah, I've been waiting for that 6505+ on the channel pretty much since I saw it.
It's probably the best value for an amp, specially on the used market.

I own the stl tones one and used the bogren amps when picking out a 5150 style plugin to go with my axe fx3 to be honest the ml sound labs one is absolutely amazing and was much better then the stl tones one. Bogrens newest amp is absolutely amazing tho. And slt tones makes a great krank amp emulation

Buuut I absolutely love this plugin. It's my go to 5150 style amp plugin

Id like to hear a comparison between the ml 5555 and the ml 5151 fluff. It seems like they might have released the same plugin twice. Kinda wondering what the difference is. I do enjoy the hell outta my 5151 fluff. Or is it fluff 5151? Whatever. Its one or the other. Lol but yeah if it is different id love to pick this one up to add to the collection.

Mikko said: "Also all of these Block Letters sound a bit different f.ex. take Fluff's Block Letter from Roots and while the gain level matches pretty close to mine - my Block Letter is way tighter in the low end and done with all the latest advancements in impedance modeling that we've developed in.... has it been 3 years?! The difference between those two amp sims done with essentially the same underlying tech gives us an amp sim that sounds like a different amp entirely."

I'm very frustrated right now. First of all amazing video, AS ALWAYS, you never fail to provide good quality content. However I was really hoping for ML to release an Engl (preferably Powerball II) amp, but instead we're getting yet another 5150. ML Sound Lab already offers good 5150 sims from the Roots, Stevie T and Iconic. Why do we need 2 more? Same thing with the Rectifier amps.
The amp sim world has plenty of 5150 and Rectifiers (which new ones constantly get released). I think people would much rather have a JCM 900, 2000 DSL, JVM, Engl, Blackstar, H&K, Randall and so on.
I was just on Reddit the other day talking about how unnecessary it is for all these company to pump out 5150s when the market is so saturated. We have Nolly which is great, STL Josh Middleton (as well as all the other STL 5150s, we got Gojira, the 5050 from Audio Assault, Bogren Ampknobs, the already existing ML ones and the most recent Spiritbox amp sim which is yet another 5150. 🤦

@@AndresPrassthat would be great. We need more variety. I love the 5150, it's actually my favorite amp but we don't another plugin. 4 5150 plugins came out in the past 7 days believe it or not and they are all really good so once you own one, you are not upgrading by buying another one. I'm using AA 5050 and Nolly to this day.

I wish ML Sound Lab's plugins worked on the M series Macs. I can never get them to work properly and if i record more than one guitar track with their plugins my whole project starts to lag and stutter severely, as if the plugin takes all the resources.. I have emailed their support for help but they unfortunately did not bother to reply.

I use to have the same problem until Switched to Windows and Reaper, but to help you it has to do with the limitation of garageband if that is what you are using. You have to upgrade to Logic Pro or use some other software that supports you changing the bit rate I believe is what it was called or something similar. Alternatively you could get a different interface that runs at the same bit rate as garageband, but do your own research.

Peavey always makes great amps, and they are cheaper than all the other amps and usually have better features like there speaker defeat, speaker attenuation built in or usb with silent recording, but they do have shitty emulated speakers though on the 6505 mini head though.

Sounds dry, lifeless and lacking the sparkle and compression of the real amp.
