Tom Cruise’s story arc on struggling with loss was brilliant.
The pre-cogs were named after mystery writers. Dashiell Hammett, creator of Sherlock Holmes stories Arthur C Doyle and the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie.
Love how they used Schubert’s music when Tom was browsing the images early in the movie.

It took me watching it again. To realise that when Agatha was talking about their son growing up and going to college and having so much love in their house.
She wasn't talking about what their lost son would've done had he not been taken.
She was talking about what their lives would be like with their new son. Who is yet to be born.. So happy endings all round.

The theme of this movie is cited a lot today, as it seems that a lot of government legislatures in our so-called free world have been flirting with the idea of restricting protests by opposition parties for their potential for "future crime". So it is important, I think, that everyone see this movie to be aware of the danger.
As to Tom Cruise movies, if you want to see more, I think his best work is found in his latest films, specifically, "The War of the Worlds", "The Edge of Tomorrow", "The Last Samarai" and one that may have a personal interest to you, the facinating WWII biopic, "Valkyrie".

one thing they changed in this film that they had in the book is that in the film Precogs can't see suicides, which is why they couldn't see Leo Crow and Lamar kill themselves.
those rifles they used in the car factory are called "Concussion Rifles." it shoots a concentrated ball of air to knock out a suspect.
in the VG based on the game Spyderbots come in 2 colors. red and chrome. red ones are bomb types while normal ones have tasers.
the hotel clerk is played by Tom Cruise's cousin.
also i really enjoyed your reaction to this.

For me, if we still accept that the precogs are to be used, there is a solution which is much better than abandoning the problem: Just use it to stop murders before they happen. You do not have the proof to say that those people will be murderers, but I see very reasonable that, for example, you enter in the house of that man who was cheated, you take him away and then release him. Maybe give protection to the possible victims, put a localizer on him for a couple of months or something like that.
Just like you put people in custody for a few hours even if they ended up not commiting a crime, but you have the suspicion that it was about to happen.
I think that the technology would justify it. And then the end result would be the same: No murders. Because all the murders are prevented (even if the possible murderers are not convicted).

This movie was based on the 1956 Philip K. Dick short story 'The Minority Report'. So many movies have been made based on his writing; some are great, some are not so great, but I always enjoy them as they have great ideas taken from his stories One with a similar 'know the future' theme is Paycheck (2003), based on Dick's 1953 short story of the same name.

Minority Report it's one of the bests tales of Philip K. Dick. Published in 1956 but feels so of todays.

I couldn’t image losing a child the way John did. I have had a few of those brief few seconds of terror where I have lost track of my 6 year daughter in public. As an attentive parent, my daughter rarely leaves my sight when we are out, especially if we in the checkout near the front doors of a store. She doesn’t play outside unless my wife or I are outside as well. I can’t be one of those parents that lets my child (at this age anyway) roam the neighborhood and not know where they are.

This is another movie based on writings from my favorite author who also wrote the stories behind Blade Runner, Total Recall, Adjustment Bureau, and my personal favorite; A Scanner Darkly. It stars Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr, and Woody Harrelson. I'm so glad you enjoyed this movie and you should definitely add A Scanner Darkly to a poll.

I hope you watch The Last Samurai sometime. I’m not a big Tom Cruise fan (as a person) but I still think that’s one of his best performances. And it’s soooo worth a watch for Ken Watanabe’s acting and Hans Zimmer’s music 🙌🏼✨

Sci Fi movies based on Philip K Dick's works are some of the best of the bunch (check the adaptions section of his wikipedia page and it'll blow your mind) - which is good because he was a prolific writer, there's so much untapped potential out there.
