imo there's one big caveat to the whole Scaramouche thing: you're assuming we're seeing things from Arle's PoV. But the very beginning of the video shows a scene where Arle isn't even there (her mother telling the story and asking Clervie to check on her), meaning at the very least that part of the story is not from her PoV, but just a recounting of the facts, meaning Scara being there is fine.

Not really. Scara being there only makes sense when you ignore the lore from sumeru onwards. Could be fanservice or oversight. But turning Arle into a descender is more fun than him and signiora being there to show em in the coat.

It could also represent the Doctor considering Crucabena most likely had no remorse to not allow the Fatui to conduct experiments on the orphans. These could be disguised as regular-checkups when in reality they were experimenting on the children.

Ngl, there are so much that's going on with Arlecchino and I'm just eager to know more about her in the actual game, To think that Genshin has mode an animated shoet for Arlecchino alone makes me wish they'll do so for other characters, kind of like how they do it with HSR.
I would like to add onto the Peruere/ Perinheri/ Pers bit (because I'm getting ready for the next patch by reading up on a LOT of Freminet lore for heaps of reasons) that Pers, ironically pronounced as Père - "Father" in french, is directly linked to Freminet's favourite book, Tales of a Snow-Winged Goose. In which Penguins are directly likened to Outlanders, quite literally stating that "every penguin in the world comes from outer space, far beyond the skies." Now the interesting bit is that, according to the book, Pers was the first of the penguins to learn how to swim/ dive into the sea. Now taking this bit of information into the context you provided, what else is diving if not "descending" into the ocean? And taking this into consideration, the same section of the book also talks about the stars and sky being reflected into the water (quite like Mona explains hydromancy, also giving more points to Scara's iconic line) which is important later, as Pers re-gains his ability to fly by "diving" back into the sky - "the secret to flying is to be light" is another quote from this book. Pers in the story misunderstands it as being light-weight but we've seen Light and Darkness in action before and there's plenty of evidence to suggest both are also elements (looking at Enkanomiya). But I'm getting side-tracked. The main takeaway is that this theory holds up quite well if "Father" (Pers) was among the first to learn how to dive (Descend). Plus, Skirk mentioning that the Gnoses are dead descender remains shortly before Arlecchino lore drops is no coincidence, it's still part of the Fontaine questline, meaning we'll deal with this information one way or another. Also, Freminet is hugely important to understanding Arlecchino, he hallucinates all characters from this book (Pers when he's lonely, Princess Marcotte who is a parallel to Clervie when he's timid and The Fox and Clockwork Guardsman when he's troubled) frequently during different emotional states and also was a part of the Hearth before Arlecchino became the new King. All of the characters have a huge amount of relevance to the Hearth, and the last story in this book (which is also his "special item" unlocked at the corresponding friendship level) talks about a thief who stole and broke Death, as well as a Clockwork Mecha who is starting to forget things and wear down, wishing to die. They're both not allowed to and are cursed with immortality - it's a big big big red Khaenri'ah flag. He also has a lot of information on "Mother" in his profile, I really suggest looking into him a bit before the next update! Cheers!

Arlecchino is like the darker version of Elysia from Honkai Impact 3 Both elysia and arlecchino are errors in the samsara. Elysia gave the present Herrscher the will to choose what they want to do.
Arlecchino actually gave me Senti vibes from the start actually…not as unhinged, but equally sadistic…even the red/black effects of their powers and how they manifest weapons with their powers are quite similar…. I guess its Genshin’s turn for depression impact
Come to think of it, Arlecchino gives me Herrscher of Corruption and Sentience vibes. Also the fact that Corruption manifests itself as a crimson red eye is also a weird parallel.
Oooh, there's a Herrscher of Corruption and it's red? (don't know about honkai). That would align really well with the red corruption all over the Unknown God in the opening.
@@amouramarie The Herrschers are pretty interesting. Corruption in particular can shapeshift, infect objects, glitches, as well as warp reality and also edit parts of it as it sees fit. Perhaps the Knave isn’t actually the real Knave at all, but an impostor that’s also a Descender. It’s not out of the realm of possibility since Genshin clearly has links to the Sea of Quanta. As for Sentience, the relation is the presence of feathers and wings. Senti herself is a manifestation of Fenghuang Down, which is a feather that is mystical and supernatural in nature. Her attacks specifically are an almost exact match to Arlecchino’s in color.

Another Honkaiverse lore connection I'd be interested in is if the Fragmentum is similar to the Abyss/SoQ, and if Dain or Skirk is more directly connected to a Path (maybe Nihility or something else)
@@Lil_Noot I've seen Senti in Arlecchino since the very beginning. Remember the white-black-red outfit Senti wore when she was just born? Arlecchino's outfit and color palette matches perfectly with this one. With the feathers and the glitches just adding more to the parallel. If Caterpillar's story applies to Arle as well, then we can remember that Senti was one of the only two Herrschers to be born flawed and leaning towards humanity (even if her ideas to save humanity were extremely questionable). Meaning Senti was a bug in the Honkai from the get-go. There's also the fact that they're both known to be sadistic. And, finally, the fact that they want their will enforced, no matter what. Senti wanted everyone to just act as she wants, with no questioning, and that's exactly what we hear Arlecchino say in the trailer when she tells the siblings trio that children who don't do as told deserve punishment.
I usually agree with most of your theories, but I just want to say that the animated short is not Arlecchino's memories, they are just showing us the past, the past does not change even if Irminsul is involved. And btw I'm not saying your theory is wrong, I actually also think that Arle is not a being from Teyvat(or anything of the like)but the Scara point does not make sense.
i think she'll probably have some connection to remuria which justifies her name being more closely inspired by the latin "perurere" and, while interesting, UERE is likely just a coincidence. if time dilation were at all relevant, it'd likely be used for someone like istaroth rather than arlecchino.
I mean Riaden Shogun/Ei who had no business nor connection about time outside of being emotionally stuck in the past literally traveled throughout all of time and planted the Sacred Sakura. Something else could have existed without any explanation, but people remember them anyway because they came from outside space-time like the Plane of Euthymia. So that kind of thing or similar could happen again. Next chapter's theme is about Rebirth or the theme of a phoenix that rises from its own ashes.
We could clearly see how much Hoyo invested in Arlecchino through how well her past was built in that short animation, which makes me feel very much looking forward to the upcoming debut to her

The assumption you've run with is that the short was coming from her memory, replaying the event. Have you considered that this a was an "in the moment" telling of the story in the present tense? In that scenario, scaramouche didnt alt f4 from irminsul yet and the reincarnated descender spin falls apart. In any case, the reveal is going to be great

Agree. Scaramouche on the video is the time when Arle became a Fatui Harbinger. Not some sort of reminiscene of arle current game event timeline (post scara deletion of himself from the irminsul).
Didn't Skirk also say something to the effect of the bonds that one had in this world will all turn to curses when talking about the gnosis? If Arlecchino is related to the 3rd descender to some degree it would make sense why a curse is placed on her.

Arlecchino fire power to me looks like more like blood. If I correctly remember, when she was announced as playable as the beginning of 4.5, it was said that she dreamed constantly of the red moon, which is also referred to as the blood moon. Since her first appearance in the Winter Lazzo, I thought her winged clothes design and accessories remembered me (like Colombina) of angels. In particular, Arlecchino reminds me of the Powers (an angel hierarchy) since their old representation were of red four wings. Also, she was presented as the Dire Balemoon (which seems as if she is some kind of monster that can represent the astronomical event of the blood moon). Then, if I still remember correctly, in the lore, weren't there like 3 moon sisters? And now only one remains? Could it be that Arlecchino is one of the 2 lost/dead moon sisters that did reincarnate, or was her soul 'forced' to be reincarnated, maybe from one of Khaenri'ah experiments? Could the 3 moon sisters be descenders? And if Arlecchino is one of the 3 moon sisters, then what kind of moon phase or astronomical event (blue moon, eclipsed moon, ... ) did the last 3rd sister represent? Could this be one of the reasons why Arlecchino glitches and is considered an error?
I recently found the German Netflix show Dark and it's themes are literally what Genshin is talking about, I suspect it's actually one of the biggest inspirations for Genshin's lore. The main motif of the show is the Triquetra, it's about time traveling, past, present and future being intertwined, fate, endless cycles of suffering, light and dark, travelers, Zhuangzi's Butterfly Dream etc.; All the main themes it's talking about is in Genshin, there's even an important corridor where children crawl through to reach another timeline. I need more people to know about this and do some research.
There's not really a reason to believe the short is being told from the point of view of any particular character, especially when there is no one character present in every scene. It's told from a third person omniscient PoV, therefore we're seeing events as they actually took place. Additionally, Father does not appear to be holding the same tournament that her Mother did. Fighting Mother was not part of the tournament, only the siblings. Arlecchino choosing to fight her children would be for a specific contextual reason.
Just FYI: the Imaginary element is based on the concept of Imaginary numbers, not imagination. It is a physical manifestation of complex numbers. It is also equated with the platonic “conceptual space”, somewhere that ideas can manifest as physical entities. Imagination and memories are more connected with the Sea of Quanta - Imaginary Space is roughly the realm of instinct and the subconscious.
Arlecchino is Khaenri'an evident by the fact that on her voice lines, she mentioned that the Jester recognized her background with ease plus the fact that her weapon is Crimson Moon which is related to the last dynasty of Khaenri'ah.
And she will be relevant again when the Project Stuzha is explored further when we reach Snezhnaya. I think we will have a civil war of some sorts when we reached the last nation because The Knave is not really buddies with the Regrator and The Doctor.
Also you've mentioned about the ember which means "the end of a fire". There's a theory that if Arlecchino is from outside of Teyvat, the passage on the book meant that it was to erase the memories of the adopted through the fire which is to say, the memories from outside Teyvat.

Ok, did no one notice the similar colours between Arlecchino's cursegiven abilities, and the Sustainer's of Heavenly Principles cube attacks and portals? It's literally as if the Sustainer gave this curse to her. There are also similar shapes on her hands to the ones on the cubes. Edit: The third Descenders second incarnation being cursed by the Sustainer also seems very very likely and explains the why of Arlecchino's curse.
I think you along with some other people are looking a bit too much into the Scara appearance. We were not really watching Arlecchino's memory. Hoyo was just presenting us with parts of her past as purely as they were happening and that's all. Her animation isn't about finding Scara and Irminsul secrets.
Wrong from the get go: the “king” must refer to the House of the Hearth, aka the leader of, not the king piece on the chess board. Because it is confirmed that the knosis are the actual chess pieces, and even so, the king piece of the Fatui side should be Il Capitano, or Pierro, not the Knave.
What if the reason because wanderer has a banner in 4.6 is because he will help/ save us from the nave during the boss fight but instead of the knave thinking he is a friend of ours she would recognize him as scara and start questioning him? (this is very unlikely to be the case)

There's been a lot of debate around Clervie's death, with people speculating on if Peruere killed her or if Clervie took her own life. But I think the storybook segment at the beginning tell us what actually happened or at least a part of it. In the story book we see the rabbit that represents Clervie on her knees like she is struggling to stand. The rabbit is also holding a stick which I think represents a sword. Facing the Clervie rabbit we see a rabbit with a Bulle Fruit ornament holding another stick(sword). This rabbit clearly represents the blonde girl we see in the short that also has a Bulle fruit in her hair. I think this is supposed to show that during the battle between all the kids Clervie and Bulle fruit girl fought and Clervie lost
There may be one (although a bit cracked) possibility for Scara/Wanderer showing up. Perhaps over the next couple of patches Buer was able to repair the damage Wanderer had done (she did make backups). He(Wanderer) did wish that the families he ruined would finally know the truth.
There's also (in Star Rail) Acheron who has an ult that's different from all the others too (it isn't a normal ult button). I wonder if Genshin could could be a Simulated Universe within Star Rail, but isn't a playable universe since we're already playing it with Traveler...in the form of a different game. Which would fit her theory too.
Something interesting I also noticed watching the video was that the red diamond/primogems that spawn when the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles appears before the Traveler and their sibling in the beginning cutscene is a similar red as Arlecchino’s attacks. It may be a completely innocuous detail, but it’s an interesting one to me.
That's one powerful Outlander if she was able to one shot a Harbinger as a KID. My money is on Descender. One thing that really caught my eye though is her Curse's color when it manifests as power; it's Red Black just like when we see the Heavenly Principles at the begining of the game during the fall of Khaenri'ah. And also right before she nukes the Harbinger the way the Square Rocks around her rise up with a red glow remind me of the little glitch-like Branches that destroy Khaenri'ah. Add in that her idles Glitch, the way her Curse flares up on her skin reminding me of "Forbidden Knowledge" spreading like a Disease kind of like it did in the Desert, and the whole Caterpillar other world Questline section. The only issue is she's a child in that Animation, and we have no proof that a Descender has ever been reborn before right? There was a Descender that was unaccounted for if I'm not mistaken...is there a chance that one was Alrechinno?
Something to note, the Perinheri book includes the phrase "you have traversed the fire of two worlds" and the title of this next patch includes the phrase "Two Worlds Aflame". I would be surprised if Perinheri isn't directly recounting events surrounding the birth of Arlecchino.
I think Arlechinno's curse is actually the forbidden knowledge. It only stopped making her a hilichurl because she's trying to defy the "fate" that Teyvat has planned for her. It can also explain why she's "glitching" in her idle animation. She's basically an anomaly. So yeah, if someone from Teyvat is cursed with the forbidden knowledge, they will be consumed by it, unless they have the "will to defy fate", like Arlechinno and Dainsleif.
I do believe that arlechinno is one of these outlander children taken in by khaenriah, given that perinheri book showing up about the crimson moon dynasty likely there is directly links there as well. Something about arlechinno probably protects her from having her memories changed by irmunsul (maybe the curse?) so even though she's not a descender she's still an outsider that is also unaffected by irmunsul. (which is maybe why she's glitching) We know gold created the rift hounds (dark sprites) and they can EAT holes through worlds, there was a beastmaster in control of these hounds before the cataclysm. So the crimson dynasty was probably piercing world walls and gathering orphans, getting attacks and "treasures" from these other worlds way before the eclipse dynasty took over.
Also another detail from the character demo video is that the music is just straight up electronic music which is weird. We heard some electronic music in genshin such as hu tao or faruzan songs for example but the electronic part in their songs is not the focus rather it is the traditional instruments from their region. Also the theme songs for fatui harbinger that we know (signora, childe, scata) has a unique melody/choir in parts of their songs but arlecchino's doesn't. Her demo song is completely unique/alien to genshin
4:40 ish Except that her power looks nothing like the Imaginary Energy from the Honkai saga. It looks more like bloody fire, which ties into Arle's Blood Debt-centric kit. Also, I really dislike the Arlecchino = Cater theories, especially after the animation was released. Cater spent hundreds of years in the child form, never able to "grow" past that, while we directly see Peruere growing older and how the visible manifestation of her curse is independent of her age, seemingly growing higher and higher as Arlecchino is exposed to death and decay. And lastly, the "Why is Scaramouche there?" question as evidence is just.... Dumb. We are clearly not watching her memories, we are watching her actually story, outside Teyvat's frame of reference, just like with any other Travail/Travail-adjacent piece of media from HYV.
9:20 Nicole's statement is quoted correctly but the conclusion drawn is the opposite. Nicole states that the past ("fate") can be changed but it's difficult. She says the same thing in Fontaine where she's more explicit about the fact that there are exceptions to the general rule that you can't change fate. Changing memories is not changing fate. The whole "only memories change" theory was created to avoid having to say that fate changes - because timey-wimey stories are usually bad. But isn't it time to admit that was a bad call and it was never supported by the evidence? The main narrative of this entire game is about challenging and changing fate -- not changing memories. In Inazuma memories don't change. The past changes. In Fontaine memories don't change. Fate changes. Descenders are the creatures that can change Teyvat's fate and a handful of lesser beings like Archons and Scaramouche can make small changes (aka changes "outside of the gods gaze").
considering we have an extra descender who we dont know who it is she may very well be the descender. Also, we are starting to get people from ''another world'' integrating into teyvat. Skirk. etc. Also her ability colors reminds me of the unknown god. :))
We know from the red in the Skill, that she dont use her Vision but her curse because its the Same red as the effect from the sworts Kagotsurube Isshin and Toukabou Shigure.

The significance of Scara being there was such a good point. It'd make sense if Arlecchino's identity really is linked to an outlander so her memory and observation is not affected by Irminsul. Though it'd also be a little sad that the traveler is becoming less and less special as there may be many more outlanders who aren't descenders who also remember the true history.
Also the perinheri "two worlds within the hearth" literally the name of version 4.6 which is very much related to arlecchino is called **Two worlds** aflame, the crimson night fades

So it took a few watches of "the song burning in the embers," but I think I figured something out. Arlecchino isn't devoid of emotion by choice. She has to suppress them because of her curse. Particularly feelings of affection and love. It's what activates her curse, which in turn increases her power. It's not really clear what the drawback is yet, but I think it's simply that she herself becomes a danger to those she cares for, they may even be instinctual targets for the curse. Even if they're not, it's a good chance they'd be collateral damage in the ensuing destruction. I think the reason she rebuilds the House of the Hearth is because she still cares and still wants to care, but to do as she feels is right, must also become cold and unfeeling in order to protect her charges from herself. She's suffering a similar internal crisis like that of Rogue in the X-Men movies, afraid to get close to people or love them because she might inadvertently kill them with her unwanted power. I suspect that the story boss fight will be caused by a moment where she fails to contain her emotion, and thus her power, and we must subdue her as a result. I don't believe we'll kill her as she seems essential to bringing the harbingers to our side in a future eventual war for Teyvat, but there's a lot of ways it could go.

imo there's one big caveat to the whole Scaramouche thing: you're assuming we're seeing things from Arle's PoV. But the very beginning of the video shows a scene where Arle isn't even there (her mother telling the story and asking Clervie to check on her), meaning at the very least that part of the story is not from her PoV, but just a recounting of the facts, meaning Scara being there is fine.

I would like to add onto the Peruere/ Perinheri/ Pers bit (because I'm getting ready for the next patch by reading up on a LOT of Freminet lore for heaps of reasons) that Pers, ironically pronounced as Père - "Father" in french, is directly linked to Freminet's favourite book, Tales of a Snow-Winged Goose. In which Penguins are directly likened to Outlanders, quite literally stating that "every penguin in the world comes from outer space, far beyond the skies." Now the interesting bit is that, according to the book, Pers was the first of the penguins to learn how to swim/ dive into the sea. Now taking this bit of information into the context you provided, what else is diving if not "descending" into the ocean? And taking this into consideration, the same section of the book also talks about the stars and sky being reflected into the water (quite like Mona explains hydromancy, also giving more points to Scara's iconic line) which is important later, as Pers re-gains his ability to fly by "diving" back into the sky - "the secret to flying is to be light" is another quote from this book. Pers in the story misunderstands it as being light-weight but we've seen Light and Darkness in action before and there's plenty of evidence to suggest both are also elements (looking at Enkanomiya). But I'm getting side-tracked.
The main takeaway is that this theory holds up quite well if "Father" (Pers) was among the first to learn how to dive (Descend). Plus, Skirk mentioning that the Gnoses are dead descender remains shortly before Arlecchino lore drops is no coincidence, it's still part of the Fontaine questline, meaning we'll deal with this information one way or another. Also, Freminet is hugely important to understanding Arlecchino, he hallucinates all characters from this book (Pers when he's lonely, Princess Marcotte who is a parallel to Clervie when he's timid and The Fox and Clockwork Guardsman when he's troubled) frequently during different emotional states and also was a part of the Hearth before Arlecchino became the new King. All of the characters have a huge amount of relevance to the Hearth, and the last story in this book (which is also his "special item" unlocked at the corresponding friendship level) talks about a thief who stole and broke Death, as well as a Clockwork Mecha who is starting to forget things and wear down, wishing to die. They're both not allowed to and are cursed with immortality - it's a big big big red Khaenri'ah flag. He also has a lot of information on "Mother" in his profile, I really suggest looking into him a bit before the next update!

Oooh, there's a Herrscher of Corruption and it's red? (don't know about honkai). That would align really well with the red corruption all over the Unknown God in the opening.
@@amouramarie The Herrschers are pretty interesting. Corruption in particular can shapeshift, infect objects, glitches, as well as warp reality and also edit parts of it as it sees fit. Perhaps the Knave isn’t actually the real Knave at all, but an impostor that’s also a Descender. It’s not out of the realm of possibility since Genshin clearly has links to the Sea of Quanta.
As for Sentience, the relation is the presence of feathers and wings. Senti herself is a manifestation of Fenghuang Down, which is a feather that is mystical and supernatural in nature. Her attacks specifically are an almost exact match to Arlecchino’s in color.

Another Honkaiverse lore connection I'd be interested in is if the Fragmentum is similar to the Abyss/SoQ, and if Dain or Skirk is more directly connected to a Path (maybe Nihility or something else)
@@Lil_Noot I've seen Senti in Arlecchino since the very beginning. Remember the white-black-red outfit Senti wore when she was just born? Arlecchino's outfit and color palette matches perfectly with this one. With the feathers and the glitches just adding more to the parallel.
If Caterpillar's story applies to Arle as well, then we can remember that Senti was one of the only two Herrschers to be born flawed and leaning towards humanity (even if her ideas to save humanity were extremely questionable). Meaning Senti was a bug in the Honkai from the get-go.
There's also the fact that they're both known to be sadistic.
And, finally, the fact that they want their will enforced, no matter what.
Senti wanted everyone to just act as she wants, with no questioning, and that's exactly what we hear Arlecchino say in the trailer when she tells the siblings trio that children who don't do as told deserve punishment.

I usually agree with most of your theories, but I just want to say that the animated short is not Arlecchino's memories, they are just showing us the past, the past does not change even if Irminsul is involved. And btw I'm not saying your theory is wrong, I actually also think that Arle is not a being from Teyvat(or anything of the like)but the Scara point does not make sense.
i think she'll probably have some connection to remuria which justifies her name being more closely inspired by the latin "perurere" and, while interesting, UERE is likely just a coincidence. if time dilation were at all relevant, it'd likely be used for someone like istaroth rather than arlecchino.
I mean Riaden Shogun/Ei who had no business nor connection about time outside of being emotionally stuck in the past literally traveled throughout all of time and planted the Sacred Sakura. Something else could have existed without any explanation, but people remember them anyway because they came from outside space-time like the Plane of Euthymia. So that kind of thing or similar could happen again. Next chapter's theme is about Rebirth or the theme of a phoenix that rises from its own ashes.

The assumption you've run with is that the short was coming from her memory, replaying the event. Have you considered that this a was an "in the moment" telling of the story in the present tense? In that scenario, scaramouche didnt alt f4 from irminsul yet and the reincarnated descender spin falls apart. In any case, the reveal is going to be great

Agree. Scaramouche on the video is the time when Arle became a Fatui Harbinger. Not some sort of reminiscene of arle current game event timeline (post scara deletion of himself from the irminsul).

Arlecchino fire power to me looks like more like blood. If I correctly remember, when she was announced as playable as the beginning of 4.5, it was said that she dreamed constantly of the red moon, which is also referred to as the blood moon.
Since her first appearance in the Winter Lazzo, I thought her winged clothes design and accessories remembered me (like Colombina) of angels. In particular, Arlecchino reminds me of the Powers (an angel hierarchy) since their old representation were of red four wings.
Also, she was presented as the Dire Balemoon (which seems as if she is some kind of monster that can represent the astronomical event of the blood moon).
Then, if I still remember correctly, in the lore, weren't there like 3 moon sisters? And now only one remains? Could it be that Arlecchino is one of the 2 lost/dead moon sisters that did reincarnate, or was her soul 'forced' to be reincarnated, maybe from one of Khaenri'ah experiments? Could the 3 moon sisters be descenders?
And if Arlecchino is one of the 3 moon sisters, then what kind of moon phase or astronomical event (blue moon, eclipsed moon, ... ) did the last 3rd sister represent?

I recently found the German Netflix show Dark and it's themes are literally what Genshin is talking about, I suspect it's actually one of the biggest inspirations for Genshin's lore.
The main motif of the show is the Triquetra, it's about time traveling, past, present and future being intertwined, fate, endless cycles of suffering, light and dark, travelers, Zhuangzi's Butterfly Dream etc.; All the main themes it's talking about is in Genshin, there's even an important corridor where children crawl through to reach another timeline. I need more people to know about this and do some research.
There's not really a reason to believe the short is being told from the point of view of any particular character, especially when there is no one character present in every scene. It's told from a third person omniscient PoV, therefore we're seeing events as they actually took place. Additionally, Father does not appear to be holding the same tournament that her Mother did. Fighting Mother was not part of the tournament, only the siblings. Arlecchino choosing to fight her children would be for a specific contextual reason.
Just FYI: the Imaginary element is based on the concept of Imaginary numbers, not imagination. It is a physical manifestation of complex numbers. It is also equated with the platonic “conceptual space”, somewhere that ideas can manifest as physical entities. Imagination and memories are more connected with the Sea of Quanta - Imaginary Space is roughly the realm of instinct and the subconscious.

Arlecchino is Khaenri'an evident by the fact that on her voice lines, she mentioned that the Jester recognized her background with ease plus the fact that her weapon is Crimson Moon which is related to the last dynasty of Khaenri'ah.
And she will be relevant again when the Project Stuzha is explored further when we reach Snezhnaya. I think we will have a civil war of some sorts when we reached the last nation because The Knave is not really buddies with the Regrator and The Doctor.
Also you've mentioned about the ember which means "the end of a fire". There's a theory that if Arlecchino is from outside of Teyvat, the passage on the book meant that it was to erase the memories of the adopted through the fire which is to say, the memories from outside Teyvat.

Ok, did no one notice the similar colours between Arlecchino's cursegiven abilities, and the Sustainer's of Heavenly Principles cube attacks and portals? It's literally as if the Sustainer gave this curse to her. There are also similar shapes on her hands to the ones on the cubes.
Edit: The third Descenders second incarnation being cursed by the Sustainer also seems very very likely and explains the why of Arlecchino's curse.
I think you along with some other people are looking a bit too much into the Scara appearance. We were not really watching Arlecchino's memory. Hoyo was just presenting us with parts of her past as purely as they were happening and that's all. Her animation isn't about finding Scara and Irminsul secrets.
Imagine how ironic it would be if Arlecchino somehow fix Teyvat and the rest of the world while being an "Error".

Wrong from the get go: the “king” must refer to the House of the Hearth, aka the leader of, not the king piece on the chess board. Because it is confirmed that the knosis are the actual chess pieces, and even so, the king piece of the Fatui side should be Il Capitano, or Pierro, not the Knave.
What if the reason because wanderer has a banner in 4.6 is because he will help/ save us from the nave during the boss fight but instead of the knave thinking he is a friend of ours she would recognize him as scara and start questioning him?

There's been a lot of debate around Clervie's death, with people speculating on if Peruere killed her or if Clervie took her own life.
But I think the storybook segment at the beginning tell us what actually happened or at least a part of it.
In the story book we see the rabbit that represents Clervie on her knees like she is struggling to stand. The rabbit is also holding a stick which I think represents a sword.
Facing the Clervie rabbit we see a rabbit with a Bulle Fruit ornament holding another stick(sword). This rabbit clearly represents the blonde girl we see in the short that also has a Bulle fruit in her hair.
I think this is supposed to show that during the battle between all the kids Clervie and Bulle fruit girl fought and Clervie lost
There may be one (although a bit cracked) possibility for Scara/Wanderer showing up. Perhaps over the next couple of patches Buer was able to repair the damage Wanderer had done (she did make backups). He(Wanderer) did wish that the families he ruined would finally know the truth.
There's also (in Star Rail) Acheron who has an ult that's different from all the others too (it isn't a normal ult button).
I wonder if Genshin could could be a Simulated Universe within Star Rail, but isn't a playable universe since we're already playing it with Traveler...in the form of a different game. Which would fit her theory too.

Something interesting I also noticed watching the video was that the red diamond/primogems that spawn when the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles appears before the Traveler and their sibling in the beginning cutscene is a similar red as Arlecchino’s attacks. It may be a completely innocuous detail, but it’s an interesting one to me.
That's one powerful Outlander if she was able to one shot a Harbinger as a KID. My money is on Descender.
One thing that really caught my eye though is her Curse's color when it manifests as power; it's Red Black just like when we see the Heavenly Principles at the begining of the game during the fall of Khaenri'ah. And also right before she nukes the Harbinger the way the Square Rocks around her rise up with a red glow remind me of the little glitch-like Branches that destroy Khaenri'ah.
Add in that her idles Glitch, the way her Curse flares up on her skin reminding me of "Forbidden Knowledge" spreading like a Disease kind of like it did in the Desert, and the whole Caterpillar other world Questline section. The only issue is she's a child in that Animation, and we have no proof that a Descender has ever been reborn before right? There was a Descender that was unaccounted for if I'm not mistaken...is there a chance that one was Alrechinno?

Something to note, the Perinheri book includes the phrase "you have traversed the fire of two worlds" and the title of this next patch includes the phrase "Two Worlds Aflame". I would be surprised if Perinheri isn't directly recounting events surrounding the birth of Arlecchino.

I think Arlechinno's curse is actually the forbidden knowledge. It only stopped making her a hilichurl because she's trying to defy the "fate" that Teyvat has planned for her. It can also explain why she's "glitching" in her idle animation. She's basically an anomaly.
So yeah, if someone from Teyvat is cursed with the forbidden knowledge, they will be consumed by it, unless they have the "will to defy fate", like Arlechinno and Dainsleif.

I do believe that arlechinno is one of these outlander children taken in by khaenriah, given that perinheri book showing up about the crimson moon dynasty likely there is directly links there as well. Something about arlechinno probably protects her from having her memories changed by irmunsul (maybe the curse?) so even though she's not a descender she's still an outsider that is also unaffected by irmunsul. (which is maybe why she's glitching)
We know gold created the rift hounds (dark sprites) and they can EAT holes through worlds, there was a beastmaster in control of these hounds before the cataclysm. So the crimson dynasty was probably piercing world walls and gathering orphans, getting attacks and "treasures" from these other worlds way before the eclipse dynasty took over.
Also another detail from the character demo video is that the music is just straight up electronic music which is weird. We heard some electronic music in genshin such as hu tao or faruzan songs for example but the electronic part in their songs is not the focus rather it is the traditional instruments from their region. Also the theme songs for fatui harbinger that we know (signora, childe, scata) has a unique melody/choir in parts of their songs but arlecchino's doesn't. Her demo song is completely unique/alien to genshin

Also, I really dislike the Arlecchino = Cater theories, especially after the animation was released. Cater spent hundreds of years in the child form, never able to "grow" past that, while we directly see Peruere growing older and how the visible manifestation of her curse is independent of her age, seemingly growing higher and higher as Arlecchino is exposed to death and decay.
And lastly, the "Why is Scaramouche there?" question as evidence is just.... Dumb. We are clearly not watching her memories, we are watching her actually story, outside Teyvat's frame of reference, just like with any other Travail/Travail-adjacent piece of media from HYV.

9:20 Nicole's statement is quoted correctly but the conclusion drawn is the opposite. Nicole states that the past ("fate") can be changed but it's difficult. She says the same thing in Fontaine where she's more explicit about the fact that there are exceptions to the general rule that you can't change fate.
Changing memories is not changing fate. The whole "only memories change" theory was created to avoid having to say that fate changes - because timey-wimey stories are usually bad. But isn't it time to admit that was a bad call and it was never supported by the evidence?
The main narrative of this entire game is about challenging and changing fate -- not changing memories. In Inazuma memories don't change. The past changes. In Fontaine memories don't change. Fate changes. Descenders are the creatures that can change Teyvat's fate and a handful of lesser beings like Archons and Scaramouche can make small changes (aka changes "outside of the gods gaze").

We know from the red in the Skill, that she dont use her Vision but her curse because its the Same red as the effect from the sworts Kagotsurube Isshin and Toukabou Shigure.

The significance of Scara being there was such a good point. It'd make sense if Arlecchino's identity really is linked to an outlander so her memory and observation is not affected by Irminsul. Though it'd also be a little sad that the traveler is becoming less and less special as there may be many more outlanders who aren't descenders who also remember the true history.

So it took a few watches of "the song burning in the embers," but I think I figured something out.
Arlecchino isn't devoid of emotion by choice. She has to suppress them because of her curse. Particularly feelings of affection and love. It's what activates her curse, which in turn increases her power. It's not really clear what the drawback is yet, but I think it's simply that she herself becomes a danger to those she cares for, they may even be instinctual targets for the curse. Even if they're not, it's a good chance they'd be collateral damage in the ensuing destruction.
I think the reason she rebuilds the House of the Hearth is because she still cares and still wants to care, but to do as she feels is right, must also become cold and unfeeling in order to protect her charges from herself.
She's suffering a similar internal crisis like that of Rogue in the X-Men movies, afraid to get close to people or love them because she might inadvertently kill them with her unwanted power.
I suspect that the story boss fight will be caused by a moment where she fails to contain her emotion, and thus her power, and we must subdue her as a result. I don't believe we'll kill her as she seems essential to bringing the harbingers to our side in a future eventual war for Teyvat, but there's a lot of ways it could go.
I like that she's got six wings like the twins did. I keep thinking that's significant.
