Hey Scott, bought my first clone last year, a G660, and waiting on my G372 to arrive this week. Discovered your channel while researching how to fix the 660 chain tensioner (brass tubing on the way). Just wanted to say thanks for providing such a great resource for the clone saw...best one I've found so far for parts & repair advice.
Hi Scott, I have 7 clone saws personally, and every one with the brown farmertec crank seals failed within the first year of use. The farmertec brown seals get hard and wear so that the lip seal spring starts working through the rubber, thus you now have an air leak. Now I just replace the crank seals from the start with the Hyway seals and I don't have issues. I will say that the crank shafts on the clones could be a little straighter thus would be easier on crank seals.
@@wayneanderson991 that's wild feedback.. guess I'll keep on w hyway.. I'm seeing FT listing some as viton rubber now, but don't know how/if I can differentiate.. I ordered some and they are just another shade of brown.. I'll throw them in acetone out of curiosity
You may ramble but your giving information that some folks would consider common but for those of us who are learning need. I, personally, appreciate it. Lol
I have a farmer tech 660 I've rebuilt several times as it's just a hobby. I have a mmws cylinder on it at the moment that I've cut down to get the squish right. I'd like a good big bore kit for it if I can find one that don't free port. if you have one let me know please
@@matthewknight5641 I have a few mmws sitting on shelf.. I'll get to them eventually.. right now I'm into a batch of hyway GX that doesn't Freeport. Not sure what I have left... And next batch will be a toss up that I'll find out when I see them...lol
Hey Scott we don't tell what we put in that can....lol that's brake and parts cleaner for future reference We don't want Karen pissin on our parade "EPA"
