I grew up just outside of Hartford. It’s cool seeing old pics of Bushnell Theater, Colt gun factory, and Asylum Hill Congregational Church.

Don’t forget the problem with the water in Flint. The water wasn’t fit to drink. I don’t know what it’s like now.

I understand that Des Moines is now the insurance capital. Rather than Hartford, CT.

With people working from home, more cities may decline. Skyscrapers are losing occupants. Can't pay their bills.

Sad that these cities are all in bad shape. Still there's always a chance for recovery. Asbury Park NJ is a good example. A downward spiral that began in the 1970s led to the legendary resort city becoming a wasteland of empty and demolished buildings and the once bustling boardwalk decayed and crumbling by the 1990s. However since then an influx of artists, musicians and other creative types have revived the city and it is once again thriving with many shops, hotels, restaurants, music venues and other amusements. So occasionally places do bounce back.

Interesting to see what happens when climate hange turns a lot of desert west cities into dustbowls. Most of these are near good water sources and cooler climates.

Yet billionaires want to go and construct mile tall skyscrapers and then go bankrupt

I consider New Orleans the most overrated place I've ever been.
