    My hometown is the largest coal producer in China. In the last century, coal mines accounted for 50% of our local GDP. Many of my friends' families are coal miners. They have made great contributions to the development of human society. I salute these workers. In recent years, local officials have been committed to improving the living standards of workers and green production in factories. China will be carbon neutral by 2060. Let's work together for the environment :)

    • @taiwanno1wan126
      @taiwanno1wan126 3 года назад +1

      there is no such thing as carbon neutral or emmisions free or even reduced emisions. Where to solar panels come from ? mining companies and huge factories to make them, they make huge emiisions and are not even efficient. Then there is the electric cars that need to be charged at power stations all the time constantly, again with even more emisions from coal then they would have if just left on gasoline. Then there is the world population that some how think they can increase pop and reduce emisions at the same time, impossible. Every time some fat person eats too much food your wasting emissions producing it

    A lot of the houses in my town were made from sandstone from the quarries, since the end of WW2 and de-industrialisation it's completely disappeared, there's no mining here and it's only mechanised agriculture around the edges of the suburbs. Good thing though, the conditions in harsh labour were defo violating human rights laws.

      What you don't understand is that China’s new coal-fired power plants are cleaner than anything operating in the United States. China’s emissions standards for conventional air pollutants from coal-fired power plants are now much stricter than the comparable U.S. standards.
      US and Europe are using less coal because they are using natural gas and shale gas instead, not renewable.

    So much for China going green, huh? (It even imports additional coal.)
    Meanwhile, the U.S. has the world's largest coal reserves, but chooses to limit itself.

    • @haoyuan5762
      @haoyuan5762 3 года назад +1

      It's the supply of gas and petroleum that limits the coal consumption. The U.S. consumes energy extravagantly and has a carbon emission of 15-20 t/capita/year for decades. Speaking of energy optimization and emission reduction, it's much easier to limit U.S. than most of other countries.
