  • Victoria Shadow Treasurer Brad Rowswell has slammed pro-Palestinian demonstrators who protested on Anzac Day.
“Is nothing sacred anymore?” Mr Rowswell told Sky News host Steve Price.
“I don’t think you’ll find a Victorian, I don’t think you’ll find an Australian that disagrees with the principle of a right to protest.
“Anzac Day is a sacred day, Anzac Day should be a protected day.
    “That was frankly disgraceful.”

Here are 3 reasons why people support the Palestinian cause:

      1-
"The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies."
      - Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949

Israel has been violating the above UN law for the last 56 years by building illegal settlements in the Palestinian territories recognized by the international community, including the USA, Great Britain and European Union.
      Note:
Palestinian territories currently only form 22 percent of the historic Palestine territory which includes Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem with a population of over 5.3 million Palestinians.

      2-
Between 2008 and October 6th, 2023, the Israeli Army killed six thousand four hundred (6,400) Palestinians, as reported by the respected English journalist and author, Grace Blakeley. Surprisingly, virtually there has been no condemnation or discussion of these atrocities by mainstream media.
      3-
Israel always claims that it has withdrawn from Gaza in 2005 and pulled out 8000 settlers, whilst this is correct however, the following conspicuous facts are also true:
A- Although Israel pulled out 8000 settlers from Gaza, it has placed more than half a million illegal settlers in other Palestinian territories which are recognised by the international community. [ Source- The economist - 06.11.2023]
B- Despite the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 it has not allowed the Palestinians to have their own airport or seaport in Gaza or indeed the West Bank.
C- Access to Water, Electricity, Telecommunications, Internet and the Borders of Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem have been controlled exclusively by Israel for the last 56 years.
Palestinians already were killed before 7th October but slowly. The armed settlers expelled many Palestinians from their houses in the west bank, killed thousand of them, and many are arrested just because they were trying to get their rights and the world was blind and silent. Gaza was besieged. The journalist Shereen Abu Aqla was killed by Israeli force year before October 7 while covering occupation atrocities in the west bank. Itamar Ben Gfir and his party let settlers carry weapons as they want and attack Palestinians in their houses. They also support building illegal settlements everywhere. No one in the world said they are terrorists. How can people live such a life in their homeland? How can they defend while they are under the control of a cruel occupation that forbids their defenseHere are 3 reasons why people support the Palestinian cause:

The so-called pro- palestinian demonstrators divided everything into black and white, for example for them the zionists is a representation of capitalism and the Arabs are supposedly representing for equality. They have no idea that the first zionists settlers were mostly socialists who build the kibbutzim in israel. And the people in the kibbutzim in southern israel that were attacked by Hamas are used to help the people of Gaza. And also used to protest on their behalf. Likewise they say that the jews are white European and the Arabs are black. They have no idea that most of the people in israel today are not from Europe but from Arabs countries. They have no idea that the jews from Europe mostly voted for the leftist parties and the Eastern jews mostly supported the right. In sort, they have no idea and they just talk about things they don't know nothing,.

  • @BruzoDragonius

But it’s ok to be pro Zionist Israel and hence pro ISIS? The point is that ANZAC day shouldn’t be about weather you support Israhell nor Palestine ever. It’s about morning those military personnel of Australian that were on the right side of history that died preserving the peace and what is left of the freedom in this country and should be respected for that. Not just the diggers in WWI. And we thank them for their service.

The Indigenous fought alongside White Aussies and New Zealanders in Turkey to maintain peace in WW1 - the origins of ANZAC Day. And ANZAC Day today is to respect and remember Australia's and New Zealand's service men and women (including Indigenous), dead or alive, who serve overseas in the interest of peace. There are Indigenous people who have served and currently still serve, and they are included in the ceremonies.
