Thanks Jay and Jessie. Jessie for the wonderful creative stories and Jay for bringing the characters to life!!! I love how the children voices are very realistic! Excellent job and duos ❤
Finally get to listen to this, with family for the holiday I didn't get time to listen, made Friday hard for me :) because I love to listen to you each Friday
I like this book and you did an amazing job with all the different voices especially the children. Every book in this series is great and I look forward to more books. I enjoyed this enemies to lovers romance between Cora and Abner. They were sweethearts when they were teenagers until Cora told a lie about Abner and he left the state before she could make amends. Abner never stopped loving Cora and when he sees her again a decade later at his Grandmother's funeral, she has six children by three different men and not married. She is living with Abner's Mother who is an alcoholic. When Abner helps make repairs on the house and helps Cora with her children, she realizes that he is the first guy who really cares about her and her children and the children love Abner. They get their HEA ending and I highly recommend this book. This is my voluntary and honest review.
Wow. I'm speechless. In the first chapter alone I was thrown for so many loops. Total bombshell. I stopped halfway through that chapter and I just sat, shellshocked. This book was very serious and sobering. There was a strong theme surrounding forgiveness for past mistakes and hope for the future. These characters were very well done. I liked the bit of Amish that was woven in. This book definitely didn't have as much of the lightheartedness that most of these books have, but it was really well done and there was still a good amount of humor and teasing. Audio: I loved this audio. Abner's voice showed such care!
Thank you! I agree with you - this book was so wonderfully multilayered. Like you said, it wasn't as lighthearted as the others in this series, but MAN was it moving!
I'd read the ebook and enjoyed it very much. Now listening to it read by Jay was even better. I really appreciated the humour with the digestion of the worm and laughed out loud.
This was such a great book and loved this audio. Jay you do such a great job and I can not begin to tell you how much I appreciate being able to listen to them. Yours is one of a very few I can listen to and with my hearing problem being able to understand.
The first book that I can't say I liked. It was too unbelievable. She sleeps with a man in his family, gets pregnant , and it's his fault. Hum. But I have to say I love all the others I've listened too. They are funny with a good spiritual message. And the situations are very inventive.
@@JessieGussmanauthor you and Jay are an awesome pair. I have no desire to miss any of your books in the future. Keep up the good work. I look forward to the upcoming ones as well as the ones I haven't gotten to yet. God bless you
Okay, Jessie, okay. From now on I’ll trust you to guide your characters and give the author’s ugly eye when they need it. Great story, Jessie. Don’t get laryngitis, Jay. We are counting on you. 👍
Haha! My kids say I'm very scary, so I don't want to brag, but I think I'm pretty good at the author's ugly eye. ; ) (And don't say the "L" word!! We are most definitely counting on him! : )
Thank you, Jane! Glad you enjoyed it (and I bet that inheritance would have been helpful to feed all those teenagers they're going to have in a few years 😁)!
Honestly this story has so many mixed emotions to it that I couldn't keep up because one moment I am angry than the next I am said then the next moment I'm angry then the next moment I'm glad. Both of them have their faults and both of them really care about those kids and I feel like this is a story that many people should listen to and even read because even though Cora made her mistakes she owned up to them and tried her best to put her children first even though she knows that her past will never be reversed same goes for Abner as he definitely has his faults in this but at the same time he's trying to do his best which I admire. They are just so cute together.
Okay. I hit pause. Just started chapter 4. Wow! Talk about self destructive! I have to admit I have never been around anyone who has lived under such circumstances, but I want to march in there and give that young lady the grandma ugly eye. Okay. Back to chapter 4. I am agitated here, Jessie. 😢
Ha! I was so happy to see your second comment! The grandma ugly eye is nothing to sneeze at! I'm not sure I did her character justice, but I do know I've made some decisions in my life that I just cannot explain what in the world I was thinking (and needed the grandma ugly eye! ; ) I love how Jay's performance always makes everything so real!
If I were an author, not only would my grammar be bad, but my characters would be the same in every book 🙄 with no depth. I don’t know how you do it, Jessie. Your people are not cookie cutter perfect in places that aren’t perfect. Even though they make my “grandma ugly eye” twitch sometimes, it is good for me to be pulled out of my own little bubble. So thank you, Jessie. And thank you, too, Jay. 👍
Haha! Love that, Colleen! I do love how Jessie has a way of authentically redeeming characters that seem like they'll be beyond our capacity to like. It always convicts me that I can be too quick to judge people in real life.
@kaaaylah3265 I agree. I just don't like Cora; and I just don't see how Abner should take in so much guilt...that should ONLY belong to Cora! She was sleeping with one guy, then using another guy to get the attention of yet another guy? And then lying about being pregnant by? I don't like the shift of total guilt...it's unfair and hard to believe!❤🙏😪
I have asked myself that question many times and I feel like we all make mistakes and we all have to learn from them it's how we try to fix that mistakes that is the most important thing
I wait for this release every Friday!! Thank you Jay for your ministry through audiobooks!!
Thank you, Becky! I think Jessie really deserves the credit - I just read good-er. 😉

Thank you both 😊💕
You are so very welcome, Jan!
Once again Jessie and Jay this was soooo good🥰. Read the book when it came out and loved it then. Jay you give it an added dimension. Thanks!
Thank you very much! So glad you enjoyed it (again)!

Thank you, Karen! I agree about this series - can't believe we're almost done bringing it over to RUclips; just one left!
This is one of my favorites, and as usual, Jay does it full justice.
Thank you, Jeannette! I'm glad you liked it!
EVERY story! EVERY book! It's awesome and never disappoints. Please never stop writing Jesse! And, Jay please continue bringing to life for us!
Thank you so much, Shelli! I'll definitely keep doing it as long as Jessie will have me!

Ang Jessie does them better than anyone! (Although I admit I'm a little biased 😁)

Thank you so much, Anne! Yes - that worm scene was something else! 😁
Brilliant job, Jay! What a great story I love your voice!❤
Thank you, Coco! So glad you enjoyed it!
I really looked forward to this one,
Thoroughly enjoyed it as well,
Thanks Jessie and Jay.

I really liked Abner in the previous stories in this series and was looking forward to listening to it. This was a great enemies to love story!
Thank you, Rachael! I agree - and I loved how Jessie developed his character the way she did!
Excellent book. I would have liked the ending to have included the inheritance that several other characters got.
Thank you, Jane! Glad you enjoyed it (and I bet that inheritance would have been helpful to feed all those teenagers they're going to have in a few years 😁)!
It's been a long time for Abner and Cora. A lot has happened in the years, but both are stubborn. Good things come to those who wait.
Very well said, Donna! Thank you!

Thank you, Nolan! I agree with you, this was one of favorites of all of Jessie's Sweet Water books because it is such a great roller coaster ride!
Listened 2, May 2023.

😂 In Chapter 14 - worm scene is hilarious
Haha! One of my favorite scenes of all time, and Jay is absolutely fantastic in it!
How could a women who seems educated and knows how babies are made be so selfish to keep getting pregnant😔
I have asked myself that question many times and I feel like we all make mistakes and we all have to learn from them it's how we try to fix that mistakes that is the most important thing
I don’t see the problem Cora kisses and sleeps with everybody at least abner loves her
Didn't get this one.
Ah, I'm sorry, Diane. Hope you'll try the next one, though.
