    sick to see this side of photography on RUclips instead of the swathes of adventure, travel and lifestyle photography that seems to saturate RUclips. Nice one guys.

    So stoked to discover another channel dedicated to film photography. One quick suggestion we have for you guys is to insert photos whenever you discuss the colour/ texture of film. It could be difficult for noobs to follow or to have a clear picture of what you're trying to describe. We can't wait to see more videos made by you guys (and by Aslan! I've been following Estee's channel for a long time :D) Keep it up! ;)

    Its rather expensive but my favorite film I've ever used for street photography was Fujifilm Natura. Its 35mm only, 1600 iso, color, and I would recommend it for shooting at dusk in the city which is a lot of fun. I shot it with a RB67 with a adapter so it was a really tall sprocket exposure (that I ended up cropping). This was the result: mir-s3-cdn-cf.behance.net/project_modules/fs/4d719c33292495.571d5a09ae230.jpg

      NegativeFeedback Its a little extra but at least the film is available online. I'm lucky because a film specializing camera shop near me is run by enthusiastic hipsters so it carries a huge selection of film, even has 35mm Aerochrome (my favorite film stock despite being very specialized).

    All due respect to the owner of the channel, he can use a large format camera, he can talk about film grain, he can change cameras once a month but the way the audience talk about him and his work you would think he is a young lee friedlander and he just isn’t. Perhaps I’m missing the point and to expect to see interesting photography come from a “content creator” on RUclips is unrealistic. Obviously with film being part of the youth culture interest in retro and analogue I can imagine thousands upon thousands of youngsters who get so attached to the idea of film and its link to what they see as making good work or to put it another way the idea that it is somehow worth more in an artistic sense. They are more concerned with the medium they are using than what they put in front of it. That said if there is an audience go for it, I think anyone who spends time to make videos to help people learn deserves a big pat on the back and that is the case here for sure. I stumbled across this channel when I saw an interview with Alec Soth and I think I got the wrong idea about the channel. That was a great interview by the way.

    I never understood why some people crave "fine grain" when shooting film?
    I'd understand back then, in the 90's..when people craved digital, they wanted a more 'perfect' image. But, now? For people coming back to film? Give me MOAR RAW GRAIN! The more the merrier :]

  • @mill__er

    How do people in the street react to you taking photos of them if they notice you doing it? I take a lot of photos on the street but I find it hard to be confident enough to take photos of random people in the fear that they'll get angry or something..

  • @jasper5588

    Really cool! Bit of an obscure question, but is there a big/any difference between getting film developed by a proper lab vs Boots?

    • @NegativeFeedback
      @NegativeFeedback  8 лет назад +13

      +jasper Huge difference! A place like boots uses a pretty low quality scanner and tends to get inaccuracy in the colours. They can also be a bit iffy with the negatives sometimes if they don't know exactly what they're doing. Pro lab scans are soooooo much better, especially at the higher end places that will even scan your images to your preference of contrast and tones.
