      @@BOOMBiggityBam Jinjer has said they were unhappy with the lighting in the Kiev show. There is a drum cam video of Vlad playing Ape at the Kiev show and you can see he is having a good amount of difficulties with his IEMs. I think Pit and On The Top were the highlights of that show, which is why they were posted, but overall they were not happy enough with the entire show to post all of it.

    If you notice in the credits, the audio mix on this was done by Dmitriy Kim, Dmitriy is Jinjer's 4th drummer , the one that Vlad replaced. Vlad does have jazz in his background.
    Tatiana is a reggae fan, she had been wanting the guys to write more of it (they write the music, she writes most of the lyrics), and they finally gave her some on this song from the 2019 album Macro. It also has a Tatiana vocal one take video, check that out later.
    More live Jinjer: Perennial at Wacken 2019, Pit of Consciousness in Kiev, and Who Is Gonna Be the One. Music videos: Vortex, Home Back, Teacher Teacher, I Speak Astromony, and Disclosure.

    During many live performances, you'll see Tati actually pull her in-ears out during lots of clean singing parts. I'm guessing she's trying to control her voice better and also harmonize with the layered backing tracks that get piped through the PA.

    • @ericpeterson7512
      @ericpeterson7512 2 месяца назад +1

      I'm guessing it's not the harmonies. You can hear those way better in the in-ears usually. Even if there are wedge monitors (and often there aren't on a Jinjer stage) it can be difficult to hear the harmonies in them, especially with backing tracks. I'm sure they use click extensively in their ears. You'll often see her adjusting especially the left ear. I usually only pull them out if the mix I'm getting isn't useful. I've seen her pull them out in frustration. I've seen her give some withering glances to side stage too lol.
      I played a show last night where my in-ear mix wasn't good, couldn't hear the lead singer much. That makes it difficult to harmonize. But I still left my IEMs in, because we didn't have wedges.
      I also have trouble with my left IEM, and I've figured out recently that my left ear canal just be oddly shaped. Earbuds just don't like to stay put in that ear, no matter what size tip I use, even with earhooks. I even have the memory foam ones, and still they won't stay in. I'm messing with mine all night. But it's the same with AirPods and pretty much every other earbud. I might have to get some custom molded.

      @ericpeterson7512 2 месяца назад

      That's how it is for opening bands on big tours like that, or at festivals. The only get 20-35 minutes. If there's any trouble with the sound or staging, that can get cut to a very short set. It probably wasn't the venue. Jinjer is a band that should be seen headlining. Even when they're doing opening slots for big tours, they often headline smaller venues in between the arena shows. That's what they did last year in between Disturbed shows. I need more than 30 minutes of Jinjer!
