One if the founders of The Eagles. Another great one of Frey’s is Smuggler’s Blues from Miami Vice. Glenn even played the part of the smuggler in the episode.
This is iconic from that era, and not just from the movie.
A founding member of The Eagles, FYI.
In 1984, this was playing constantly. I don’t remember getting sick of it. This whisked me right back there.
A great voice and musician who was a big part of The Eagles for many generations.
RIP Glen. Always sorry I never got to see the Eagles live before we lost him
Don Henley, the boys of summer, is a great classic summer driving song from another Eagles member..All members amazingly talented can play and sing. You need to see any song from the Eagles live tours a few years ago to appreciate their talent.
Glenn's "You Belong To The City". Great song.
This song was in the movie Beverly Hills Cop Starring Eddie Murphy
Good one!
I prefer "Smugglers Blues," but "The Heat is On" is also good.
If you like “driving with the top down” songs, try Glenn Frey singing Take It Easy `when he was an Eagle, one of best summer songs ever written.
he hates the eagles. his hotel california was the worst
RIP Glenn Frey pronounced (fry). He made so much great music throughout his life. So steady and present in every iteration. Saw them @ Desperado album tour then again When Hell froze over. Used to smell pot smoke throughout theatre/auditorium back in the day, but in 2000 when Hell froze over tour all you could smell was hair spray, perfume and foo-foo stuff. The best part of it is it was the same crowd there from 25 years prior.
This song/video was a perfect compliment to the movie.
His last name is pronounced "Fry."
I was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan and they sort of adopted this song as their theme song when it came out.
It takes me back to those times whenever I hear it.
Glenn Frey, pronounced (fry) was a founding member of the band The Eagles. Amazing singer songwriter. I caught the HELL' FREEZES OVER TOUR and the boys sounded top of their game, I was pleased big time. (IN THE CITY) is a much better song, obviously this song was popular from the movie. Peace HIPPIE JOE
Saw that tour. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to!
A big part of a lot of workout videos in the 80's. Makes me want to jump up and exercise.
Great song. His last name is pronounced fry
His son, Deacon, is now a member of the band "Eagles."
The 80's were the best!!!
Many times I would see a video that was tied to a movie and I wanted to see the movie. But I usually didn't see it until a few years later.
The Smuggler's Blues by Glenn Frey is great.
As soon as you mentioned 80's, cars, fun, sax, I immediately thought of Aretha Franklins "Freeway of Love". It has all those elements plus Aretha's amazing voice and Clarence Clemons (Springsteen's E Street Band) on sax.
My favorite of his songs is True Love.
I ADORED this song as a kid, and STILL love it, it's so nostalgic to me
Smuggler's Blues is an awesome song by him. The saxist is Candy Dulfer, who did an amazing song called "Lilly was here'....a must if you like sax
I can't listen to "The Heat Is On" without remembering the hilarious Will Ferrell/Ben Stiller parody of this song on SNL. The sketch is called "The H Is O", but it's super hard to find on the Internet.
Love this song. !!!!!!!!!
The one you love by Glen Frey has sexy saxophone love it!!!
Great choice W! Kudos. His last name is actually pronounced, "Fry" keep 'em coming! 👏
No musical rules in the eighties. Dolly Parton could be in the top ten with The Clash. And you could happily buy both without getting flak.
Huey Lewis and The News “Heart of Rock and Roll”
We about to have some fun!!! Name pronounced like Fry. He was a main contributor to the Eagles.
They say you fall in love with the songs of your teens (70's for me :), but we can really like other era's around that (for me, 60's and 80's). Check out The Ventures 'Walk Don't Run 64' (one marked 'Super Stereo' ) for a taste of the 60's and... "The band that launched a thousand bands!" :)
Yes it was pretty fun
Ok, time for the great Dave Mason and Let It Go, Let It Flow!
Love it, in that day everyone was running around doing their best Eddie Murphy impressions. Heck even fashion for a spell. Yes, very pop. But it’s a movie song🙄
Love ur reactions- keep the positivity for real- his name has a long i- friiiii
Thanks Chod!
I know this video is over a year old, but just popped up on my stream.
Not certain if the sax player is Candy Dulfer or not, but she is a stunning player and it doesn't hurt she's gorgeous.
For great sax, you must give a spin to LILY WAS HERE by Dave Stewart and Candy Dulfer. It's free from the distraction of lyrics, but you know a great groove when you hear it. It's brilliant in it's understatement!
Ciao
Candy Dulfer would have only been about 15 years old at the time. It was Beverly Dahike-smith in the video but David Woodford played on the recorded track. But you're right that she is an awesome sax player and her genre of Smooth Jazz is great listening.
Can you imagine this song playing in the background at the pub, playing your ever first season of pool and it's up to you to pot the black to win the grand final...well, it did to me!! The heat was on and i potted that black into the middle right pocket off a missed cue, was meant to go in the top pocket.....
Miss those days ✌
Glen Frey...pronounced Fry. like French Fry. Great song from the 80s
It was a happy era
I remember he did the theme song for the tv show Miami Vice.
Jan Hammer actually wrote the Miami Vice theme song (and the score) but Glenn Frey did write the show's most popular song called "Smuggler's Blues".
@@dubbleplusgood yeah.that's it. I must be getting old lol
Don Felder - Heavy Metal
Check out his songs Smugglers Blues & You Belong To The City
Smuggler's Blues has to be the next one you do. And do the video if you can. Really cool video as well.
Try “Boys Of Summer” by Don Henley I believe...
Okay, time to do Bryan Adams. To see how big he is start with this Bryan Adams - Summer of 69 (Live At Wembley 1996) ruclips.net/video/HtipPCt317Y/видео.html "Summer of '69" is a song recorded by the Canadian musician Bryan Adams in 1984, from his fourth album, Reckless. The song is about a dilemma between settling down or trying to become a rock star. The song was written by Adams and Jim Vallance, a long-time writing partner of Adams
or
you could do this one Bryan Adams - Run to You - 6/15/1986 - Live at Giants Stadium ruclips.net/video/d2jp-VbmzFs/видео.html
😎👍
The Eagles, One of These Nights!!!!
“Little tin god “. was catchy too .,,,,,,,, if ya like that kinda pop song.
Smugglers Blues... 👈🏼 This
Sir I believe its pronounced "Fry" Glen" Fry "Frey. I was wrong one other time but that was a mistake, ha ha.
Nice reaction, Aerosmith-one way street
Last name pronounced Fry - Frye
I've always liked this song but was more of an Eagles fan.
He's another one we lost too early. Even though he was in his 50s or 60s
He was 68 when he passed.
Thanks. Didn't know that he was that old.
Smugglers Blues
They're going to block this?
To think the 1980’s could even come close to the 1970’s music is a total joke!
Wasn't a big fan of this song. But then again, a lot of the older bands or former members such as Glenn, changed to this type of sound I didn't care for. Heart, Foreigner, Robert Plant and even Judas Priest on Turbo album went to more techno sound.
It is pronounced Fry
Wrong title. It's...The Heat Is On
Fry not Fray.
