Lol i passed medsurg, and i even did well on my first exam in OB and Peds, but this newborn stuff, im struggling to grasp the concepts. I really thank you for explaining this to me. My teacher explaining this stuff sounds jibberish.
Please incorporate all babies please. Some babies are dark skin and will not be pink. When you only teach for specific babies, nurse struggle to give proper care when presented with a dark skin baby.
This is fantastic feedback, thank you for taking the time to comment! I am a big fan of the "mind the gap" handbook of clinical findings in Black & brown skin (www.blackandbrownskin.co.uk/mindthegap) and would love to find a way to incorporate similar education and resources for findings in infants. Unfortunately, the information covered in this video is what is taught and tested for NCLEX, which is why it was covered in this way for this series. But I greatly appreciate this feedback and will work to find a way to incorporate it in future iterations of this series! --Meris
I thought about the same thing. I am an LPN and on our ELectronic MAR for skin assessment it only had pink as a color of skin. But they have updated and put brown skin or color appropriate for ethnicity.
Oh my goodness, hi Africa! I remember you well, and I'm so happy I can help you study even now that I've graduated! Sending you all the best of luck in your studies! --Meris :)
These videos are so helpful. Pictures or even the word on the screen so I know what the word looks like would help though😅. I’ve bought the flashcards but that little extra would be so beneficial.
i always thought dark skinned people have the same melanocyte count just that our DNA tells them make more melanin than lighter skinned. so interesting. i love your videos
Thank you so much. I am also studying for my NCLEX and I am finding your videos extremely helpful with understanding.
I'm so glad to hear that! Wishing you all the best of luck while you study for the NCLEX! --Meris :)
I love the quizzes at the end of each video!
So glad they help!!
An easy way to remember caput succedaneum (CS) is that it crosses suture (CS)!
Thanks! That will definitely stick w me!
Studying for my NCLEX & cant even begin to thank you for the consistent content and easy to understand material !
Thank you so much, that really means a lot to me! Best of luck preparing for NCLEX, definitely let us know how it goes! --Meris :)
Thanks for the video
I remember Caput Succedaneum by C/S --> crosses suture lines
Your videos are so helpful! Thank you for making these videos. Working full time while studying for my NCLEX!
I got a B on my OB FINAL after skipping class to watch your videos instead 😂🎉
You watched all the oB videos
Thank you so much for your detailed explanations.
Please can you add pictures so we can see a pictorial view of the terms you describe
Thanks.

I 100% agree. And this is a part of the reason why care is so poorly given to black and brown individuals (both babies and adults!).

praise Jesus! Thank you for these videos! Super helpful
Love your videos! Wish I would have watched the maternal newborn videos before my maternal newborn exam! I would have passed!

Good video! It will be nicer if some illustration pictures added.
Thanks for watching. We take all suggestions seriously.
Port wine stains can be harmful! But for the purpose of the NCLEX I understand not mentioning those things!

I feel like adding pictures to the video of examples would be helpful
good video, however pictures with the description would be helpful!
Thanks! Would you please give us the specific card number when you start. It helps me. If that’s ok. Thanks.
Hope to watch everything in this channel.
Yay!! We hope the very same!
Please add pictures ❤
Too bad there is no illustration at all for those “important concepts”. It’s just all talking and nothing to visualize what we are talking about…
