I can see how this game will be tough for the people that enjoyed the spectacle of the Warhammer TW games, but man the battles look like they feel so good in Pharaoh. Crunchy but clean and clear. Not plastic, but stained glass.
Tbh i dont see all the hate for this game, i just bought it and used ur playthrough as a test haha. I wish there were family trees/politics with general still but that wouldnt even wirk for this game if you got your main guy killed, and i have a few issues getting used to the ui and diplomacy screen, but im loving it, plus mods! Thanks for the great series!
pharoaheartx10, a suggestion for Rameses main army, would be replacing clubs with a mix of axe and other javelin units, if not some extra swords. it would help with the case of a further holding line or at least wouldn't hurt in the regard of a more mixed army of ranged and melee.
If you are still looking for historical details, check out Bret Deveraux and his blog "A Collection of Unmitigated Pedantry." He's an ancient Mediterranean historian with an emphasis on Rome (so a bit after this game) and still provides a considerable deal of accessible info on the rest of that world. Three especially relevant bits to start out, Cleopatra (who comes well after this game), Egypt as an atypical Roman province, and how chariots were traditionally used. It's fun stuff.
I like how you always zoom into the battle to show us the combat animations. what is your opinion on the combat animations? are they better than the ones from rome total war 2?
the " i dont want to see sand again" is basically asking to see blood instead of sand ( at least what i think it is and would be a nice motivation phrase ^^)
Did you ever check out the "embed" scouting option on the top right of the diplo negotiation box? I don't know what it does for sure, but might be this game's version of agent visibility
HOW ON EARTH DO I RECRUIT DIFFERENT TYPES OF UNITS. I can't find help on this ANYWHERE. I've gotten the decree recruit the proficient, but I'm not seeing how to recruit chariots.
@@tillercaesar-kq4ou I dont mind DLC the way they do in the war hammer series, it allowed for many more years of support. But with this game I fear you pay full price + all the cost for DLC to in the end get the version you should have gotten on release at much higher cost
Lionheart you went for the gold resource amplifier which gave you +5% gold income, when the special one you get from the faction gives you +5% for all resources (also gold!!) and workforce, its a lionderp moment again xD read more my friend!!
It's the bronze age, cavalry wasnt really a thing back then since the "original" horses, before humans bred them for size and strength, were pretty small and inventions like the saddle and stirrups havent been made yet. Thus riders weren't really deployed in force for combat yet. The only cavalry equivalent you'll see is Chariots, which are pretty expensive, specialized and mostly endgame units
Same as in Troy. You have single trade agreements i.e. 1000 Food for 250 Stone or lasting ones over a number of turns e.g. 100 food for 25 stone every turn for 10 turs=ns.
Why why why don´t they use original languages (or if unknown fitting fake languages) from that time and culture? The units don´t give any useful information anyways. Something like "Spearmen!" or "Clubs!" could be easily replaced by "Menefti!" or "Msha!" or something similar. English with accent doesn´t make any sense, did they learn English just to speak to the player?
No need to hunt down the enemy general in a city siege there’s no escape for them after so they die anyway…just wasting time chasing after a deadman. I know what I’m doing ;)
Can we negotiate an old classic that the 5th episode is an hour long episode if we reach a certain like number on the 4th episode, Lionheart ?❤
Deal!

They really upped the Desert Attrition! Damn that 'Desert fighter' trait seems more effective in this build!
Gotta say.. beside the fact that I love your strategy, this game is looking way better than what I thought (and feared)
Timhotep. Devoted of the goddess Wenet. His keen senses, quickness, and razor sharp incisors were feared across the kingdoms.
Just found your channel lastnight, probably going to watch all your vids, as I play my own campaign 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome hope you enjoy! :)

I love the mix of traits between the playable factions. Think Seti being a rage monster is just amusing. Hope to see much more content 🙏

"You don't like sand..?!" You're gonna need a Royal Bucket & Spade then... A tough fight in the storm, but a good win.

Tim-Oh-Tep doesn't even sound out of place...
Though I'd write it Timhotep (like Imhotep). Who knows, maybe Timhotep might even build you a piramid.
"Total War: Sand" is how I will be referring to this game from now on
Should have went mythical with this one ancient Egyptian lore is great
it will be DLC, 44,99 Please.

Omg, can you have a hero named Beni Gabor, inside Timhotep's army? haha it'll be like the movie, Beni following the mummy around

I'll tell you something I'm surprised I haven't seen as an option
Camelry. we have chariots but we don't have Egyptians mounted on Camels?
Gods question, I think they don’t ride camels in this time period.
@@Carnakrox
one google search later.....853 BC was the first time we saw Camelry.
so yeah, we're too early
Nobody notices how the archers take no casualties and infantry gets destroyed
I'm Persian but these game is absolutely great
Can u recruit heros or lords/main characters in this game almost like Total War Three Kingdoms?
Tim-oh-tep the chosen of Horus
So far I’m liking it
Love the vid 😊
Timothep the Ankh-anter

Can you move your new general to the fort to reduce costs and still recute?
I havent plsyed one of these games since shogun 2. Jesus the graphics have skyrocketed.
How does everybody feel about the price vs. Scope of the game?
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I don’t like how every game has DLC these days in general

I'm surprised you haven't gone for chariots yet. Wouldn't they allow for more decisive victories?
You are familiar with LH's record with cavalry, right? He'd probably loose them soonish.... 🙊
The fucking anakin joke 😂
They wont do it i dont think but i would love just a TW spin off with a WEGO format like in Age of Wonders 4
I think you should have named him Timhotep instead of Tim-oh-tep
No horses?

nope none present in Egypt in this time period
How do trade agreements work In pharaoh?
They’re negotiated manually. You choose what resource(s) to give and to gain as well as how many turns that the trade will last.
Same as in Troy.
You have single trade agreements i.e. 1000 Food for 250 Stone or lasting ones over a number of turns e.g. 100 food for 25 stone every turn for 10 turs=ns.

Feels like CA dont actually play test their games. Reinforcing into your deploy zone - terrible
these battle maps are barren and boring as the desert
spoiled by WH3 Maps
You let that firs general on the gold city just run away when he was almost dead - you are sloppy with moving and observing what is happening.
No need to hunt down the enemy general in a city siege there’s no escape for them after so they die anyway…just wasting time chasing after a deadman. I know what I’m doing ;)
