Are those tablespoons or teaspoons? Thank you!
Recipe written in the description box.
T = tablespoon; t = teaspoon
2 cups white rice
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt (typo on screen, my apologies)
@@KeepingItRelle Thank you for clarifying!

@@yojakeisdagoat9756it shows that you've never cooked a single day in your life 💀
Thanks a lot! My sushi rice has always been so tasteless until i saw your recipe😊💗
My pleasure 😊
So straightforward, Thank you! 💖
You're so welcome!
ooooh... flash back for me....when we had not much to eat and no time to cook in the nursing dorms... we would make this and eat with hot dogs and kimchi...
I know... not the healthiest meal but...
Sounds yummy
gotta do whatcha gotta do :)
Kimchi boosted you into the health zone 👍
Seasoned Kikkoman rice vinegar already has salt and sugar added to it. "It's got 4 grams sugar & 510 mg sodium.
Thanks for the tip
Thanks i came to the comments cuz i bought the seasoned rice vinegar so its just rice and vinegar ez
Recently got into sushi and wanted to try making it myself as I love experimenting. This is a massive help, thank you!
You're so welcome!
Thanks very simple 😊 instructions.
You're welcome
Have you ever added the sugar, salt and rice vinegar to the water you cook the rice in? I’ve always had success with doing it that way because I’m lazy and it removes a step. Just wondering if anyone else does it this way. It tastes the same for me both ways so idk
Ooh I haven't. I'll have to try it. Thanks for the tip.
I will try today lazy way)) I’m also lazy
Be very careful with any vinegar on metal surfaces.
Thanks. I lost my teeth and have trouble chewing. Making this for me and the seniors
Hope you enjoy!
What should I use for a substitute for sugar? I don’t have sugar at home because my parents don’t like sugar
I've never used a sugar substitute, but you can try one. Let me know how it goes.
just skip it
Skip it, I always had. This is my first time seeing sugar in a recipe 😅
Really nice and great! Just a question though, do I have to fill up the sugar and salt to the rim of my tablespoon measure? Because the video only has the salt halfway filled on it. Otherwise, great video!!! 😀😀😁
I take back my comment, I filled to the brim and it tastes really good. Tysm!!
Recipe is on the screen. I started pouring it in before hitting record on accident and had to reshoot it. Good catch.
I love the video but still interested in seeing how the sushi mold makes sushi
The mold just shapes the rice. You add the toppings that you like.
The best part it's when she explains how the rice is made
👍
Are the cups of rice measured dry?? Sorry, new to cooking
Yes they are. Don't be sorry.
Soo help full me and my mom made it straightbaway
Yay. Happy to hear.
These measurements take two cups of rice yes?
Yes
Hey you, don’t let the rice be cold! It’s authentic to keep it slightly warm
Hey you. Thanks for the tip.
@@KeepingItRelle Np
Is it table spoons
Big T = tablespoons
Small t = teaspoons
@@KeepingItRelle oh ok thanks😅
Thanks
What s rice cooker cups ?
The cup that comes with your rice cooker. It's smaller than a standard US cup.
I dont have vinegar or rice vinegar, any substitutes?
That is a staple ingredient in sushi rice. Not sure there's an alternative to that. Sorry.
Can I use normal vinegar instead of rice vinegar
Rice vinegar is a little more subtle and has a different flavor. I've never used regular vinegar, but if you did I would try with a little less first and see what the flavor is like.
@@KeepingItRelle yeahh okay thank you ♥️
Can i use normal vinegar?
You could, but the taste will be slightly different. You may have to adjust the amount as well.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
Is it just regular rice ? I have a big ass bag of rice from Costco
I use medium grain calrose white rice. But that's not traditional.
Guess I'll do it with calrose or egyption rice as well since they're sticky and traditional sushi rice is expensive. Thanks for the suggestion! Can't wait to make my own first sushi soon! @@KeepingItRelle
Is the fish uncooked
Depends what type of sushi you're making. Some are.
Fuiyoh!! A rice cooker
Love my rice cooker
Is that ordinary rice or sushi rice?
I used medium grain rice to make sushi rice
@@KeepingItRelle ok thank you!
*Here’s the problem. I don’t have a rice pot.* 🤣
I suggest you visit a Asian store or Amazon hahaha
No rice pot needed. You can make rice on stove top if you want.
What happens if u just use rice
You mean instead of seasoning it? Then it won't have that classic sushi rice flavor, but can work.
@@KeepingItRelle what's the difference between rice vinegar and rice wine vinegar? I see people do both
Tried this recipe using tablespoon, and 1 tablespoon salt is entirely too much folks! 😂
Eek. My apologies for the typo on screen. You can add more rice and another batch of the seasoning without the salt to even it out.
@@KeepingItRelle I’ll try that next time. Thank you!
What if you don't have rice vinegar
First suggestion go get some. 2nd you could try to make it with regular vinegar, but it may need some adjusting.
get rice vinegar
So many hunger pangs…
Whoops
Stinks but makes the rice taste great lmaoo
The vinegar smell is quite strong
@KeepingItRelle yea but recently used your recipe for a cook out and it was a hit so thanks
So he will be sweet ?
The sugar helps balance the acidity. I wouldn't call it sweet.
Wait really? 1 tbsp of salt 😬 sounds scary salty 🧐
It does sound scary, but it's a lot of rice and the sugar and vinegar balance it out.
Personally, it was too salty for me but I did regular cups (not rice cooker cups if that's different) so I completely messed up. I do know that if I use a little less salt, I'd enjoy it. It had a more savory taste to it compared to the others I've tried.
Since I messed up and used two regular cups; you'd think it'd taste under-seasoned. I tasted mostly the salt and I think it's because I put too much rice.
It do not stick😭
Your rice may have been too dry
That is not 2 cup rice. 😐
This was just part of the recipe on the plate. The recipe makes much more than that.
ok this girl needs help!!! i put 2 and a half cups or rice in the pot and 2 and a half cups of water on low heat than after 2 minutes it sucked up all the water and got stuck to the pan. is it supposed to suck up all the water cause i always thought there should be leftover to drain
Are you using a rice pot or cooking it on the stove top?
@@KeepingItRelle stove top
@@KeepingItRelleOk i am trying it again. i will be constantly staring the rice. Fingers crossed. I will update
Update 1: its not sticking so far i think the stiring is working
Update 2: It is sticking a bit but if i keep moving the rice its okay
Update 3: nearly finished
Ok i am finished now. It sticks a little bit but not as much as last time. Anyway, thanks for recipe very good. new subsriber
@@stan_skz_ya If your rice sticks a trick I used to use is take it off the heat when it's done and leave it covered in the pot (not opening the lid at all) for a good 15-20 minutes while it cools. Should loosen it up a bit at the bottom.
@@spngckinc okay i will try that next time thanks!
Filling?? 😕🙄
You can put whatever type of filling you'd like. This recipe is showing you how to make the basic sushi rice.
Okay!
With all the shortcuts you have, you know what’s easier? Going to a sushi restaurant. Amazon sushi form, Jesus!
