  • Charles Beaty evaded capture for over 20 years, killing more world-class bucks in South Texas than most people will ever see in their lifetime. Now he joins us on our show as we hear about it all from the legend himself. Charles tells us what it was like living as an "outlaw" in the 1970's, 80's and 90's, including some stories he has NEVER SHARED until now! And these are not stories of "road hunting" in South Texas; Charles would spend days, sometimes weeks at a time packing back into these properties in search of big whitetails. Finally, Charles shares his outlook on his life, with words of advise for anyone who may be trying to follow in the "Prince of Poacher's" footsteps today.

Roger Reaves - top 5 most prolific drug smuggler
Barry Seal - pilot turned smuggler (American Made movie)
Luis Chapparo - reporter embedded with cartels
Ryan Montgomery - bad hacker turned ethical hacker
The list goes on and on, but all had platforms to speak on their exploits. One doesn't have to agree with the person or subject to benefit from it...surrounding yourself only with ppl and subjects you agree with creates an echo chamber. We appreciate these stories for the entertainment value, lessons learned, insight into a mind, or however it suits. We watch/listen and gain something bc there's a ton of issues we face on the daily or in the future and an understanding of said issues is a first step to defeating them.

The guy doing the interview is super boring.

So much embellishment in these stories, they are entertaining, but not factual. 24 days in hunting? 110 lb pack going in? Very doubtful when this guy is 100 lbs soaking wet. This is folklore, watch taking these stories as fact. All the stories are based on fact, but too outlandish to be believable. Just my take, Charlie is chasing a book deal and the money that comes with it, these podcast just pulls everyone right in.

Google is free. You can see a good bit of his deer online. He was also in his 20s and 30s while he was doing this. He’s since had cancer so yea he’s going to lose weight. This isn’t folklore, just someone who was dedicated and ballsy enough to do it.
