I think the reason Kise said he feels better not knowing if he'll win is not about pressure. In middle school, they just always won. No matter what. It was a given. Losing wasn't something they ever bothered to think about. Since this game does not have a definite outcome, he's excited. It's more fun. Feels better and certainly more exciting to have that challenge.
Could be that! I also was thinking that Kise said that because before he always won no matter which kind of Sport he played as well. So it is prolly a whole new thing for him.
@@Floriantamm93 well basketball makes the sports not as boring because he took time to master it up to a level. But it got boring again. Now its not , that passion again... Without a sure wij
Kise said that he can't beat Aomine because he looks up to him. This doesn't really apply to everybody but to put it simply, he feels inferior to Aomine and the other Generation of Miracles members and that unconsciously created a ceiling for his abilities. He could copy regular moves but not those who he thinks are far superior to him. And this episode marked the start of him believing that he is not inferior and that he CAN copy them.
i understood that as if he did not want to try and copy aomine. yes trying to do so would be harder than copying others so it would provide bigger challenge but that is not main reason he never tried before. in his own words he always knew he cant copy aomine cause he looked up to him... which means if he tries and manage to copy him that would be like spitting in his own face for admiring aomine all this time. It took lot of determination to get over his admiration and look up to aomine and start looking him eye to eye
Kise's line, "If you long for it, you can't surpass it," was echoed by Shohei Ohtani of Japan's national team in the final of the WBC, the tournament that decides the world's top baseball player, when he said to his teammates in a pre-game meeting, "Just one thing from me. Let's stop yearning. If you look at first there is Goldschmidt, if you look at center there is Mike Trout, if you look at the outfield there is Mookie Betts, and I think there are players that everyone has heard of if they play baseball. If you admire them, you can't surpass them, so we came here today to surpass them, to be at the top. For today, let's put aside our admiration for them and just think about winning. It is said that he was secretly paying homage to Kise's line among fans.
Just to be clear no Aomine didn’t throw the ball from afar, he can’t do 3 points formless shot, he always scores 2 points, unless he gets a foul. Also they didn’t explain in the anime but in the manga they explained that Kise is not as fast as Aomine, he is imitating his change of pace by slowing down his slowest movement so the difference when he accelerates to his full speed is the same, for example if Aomine MIN is 5 and his MAX is 10, Kise makes his MIN 4 and so when he reaches his MAX, 9, the difference is the same.
"The only one who can beat me is me," -Aomine "I think I'm going to make a meme out of that," -Coach It already is a meme in the fandom actually, so feel free to contribute to the Aomine memes!
This is where Kuroko really gets going for me, it feels like the rest of the first season was all just a warmup for this and everything past it. Great as always coach thanks for the videos.
Btw Kuroko no basket is also very famous for its soundtracks. They have one of the best soundtracks in all the anime. Its so good that many TV shows in Japan uses Kuroko no basket’s soundtracks.
When Kise said that he feels better not knowing if he can win it's like when Kagami said back in their first match that he likes when he can't win because it means there's challenge there. Kuroko phrase things weirdly sometimes, but to put it simply he means that Kise will only try to copy something if his mentality tells him he can pull it off. About the whole thing about Kise idolizing Aomine thing the subconscious mentality Kise had was that he didn't want to take Aomine out of the pedestal he saw him in so it limited his own potential, making himself to hold back so he won't lose his "idol". Kise giving up on looking up to him means that he finally got over this mental block and can consider himself as an equal to Aomine. Ah, and Kise wasn't disappointed about his team decreasing the gap, quite on the contrary, he was touched by how hard his teammates are trying to cover and support him. When the rest of Kaijo was talking about playing the entire third quarter without Kise they weren't talking literally, what they meant was that they would take care of everything else to give Kise the freedom to focus solely on his task of analyzing and learning how to copy Aomine. Can't wait to see your reaction to the next episode coach! I wonder if I will be right on the money over which part you will replay hehe~
the thing you said about the eyes and pursuing of european aspects, once i read that its not bc of it, but anime animators pursue cute and to pursue cute you don't go for asian or european, they go for cat lol (so the characters have eyes, mouth, noses etc to pursue the expression of a cat)
What you need to understand is that these animators and artists are under strict schedules, they have to find certain scenes that require extra attention which means some scenes don't look great. Don't put them down because they are working to death.
I know this is a bit late and you probably know this already but just in case you are wondering about their heights: Gen Of Miracles - Captain/Point Guard 5'8(Can't spoil his name yet haha) - Shintarō Midorima/Shooting Guard 6'5 - Ryòta Kise/Small F. 6'2 - Daiki Aomine/Power F. 6'4 - Their "Shaq" haha/Center 6'10 Seirin High - Izuki Shun Vice Cap/Point G. 5'9 - Junpei Hyuga Captain/Shooting G. 5'10 - Rinnosuke Mitobe/Center or Power F. 6'1 - the cat dude Shinji Koganei/Small F. 5'7 - Kiyoshi Teppei aka the former Ace of Seirin/Center and Point Guard 6'4 - Kōki Furihata(the other cat dude)/Bench Point Guard 5'7 So yeah that's it. lol what the titles are fine. they are most often quotes from the episode itself, even in the manga they are like that. even if it wasn't correct translation, the subtitles of the moment in the episode match the same "incorrect translation" so it's fine
@@zakichan_draws yeah but these titles make sense and don’t sound weird at all in Japanese but when u translate it into English it doesn’t sound like a title
Just a quick point since you mentioned the eyes and white washing. Anime characters aren't designed based on regional or ethnic faces, they're primarily based on cats, structure and eye shape
he cant copy what he cant do. meaning he "decided" for himself his "limit" and since he always saw aomine as "better than him" he deemed himself "unable to do" what aomine can. so when he stopped "chasing" him, he "accepted" the he COULD do what aomine can. and so he was able to copy it. (basically saying, he was trynna catch up to, but was subconsciously limiting himself) so when he stopped chasin, he realized he CAN do the stuff. for a time limit(because their physical skills differ)
I gotta agree with coach on respectfully disagreeing with Kise. And yeah I'm gonna use Kobe and MJ again as an example. Kobe looked up to the guy but did he falter after that? No. He didn't. He made MJ his inspiration to even better himself. So yeah. Don't think for a moment that just coz u are looking up to someone you won't be able to outplay or overtake them. Turn it into an inspiration to be even better.❤❤😊😊
hey coach, could i reccomend a, not really realistic, sports (football) anime to react to when you will have time and would be interested in it? the anime's name is Inazuma Eleven. it's, as i mentioned before, a football anime, or rather, superdimentional football or in easy terms, football with actual superpowers. the story follows Endou Mamoru, a 2nd goalkeeper, and a captain of an extremely weak raimon highschool football club. one day however 3 things happen, first, a 2nd year transfer student who just joined raimon turns out to be a prodigy striker who carried his previous team to the national finals last year; teikoku, the strongest highschool team in japan challenges raimon to a "friendly" match; and the club is decided to be disbanded by the principal if they loose the friendly. now a bit about why this anime is great - first off, the EMOTIONS. the anime doesn't seem to be fast paced at first, but the matches, relations between members, training, it really keeps you on your toes and will make you rewatch certain moments for just how epic they were. second, the STORY. you wouldn't expect much from a football story except for the cliché scenes and plot hooks, but inazuma doesn't stop there. the story might seem simple at first, an underdog team barely manages to win each game, but after watching few episodes you realize the story is way deeper and doesn't shade away from more serious topics, like death, mental illnesses, injuries or illnesses that destroy your career, depression and so on. after you get to know the characters i'm sure some episodes will make you cry at least a bit. third - the CHARACTERS. let me be straight - the characters are the main strenght of inazuma, they are just Great. there is no "brown hair no eyes" type of character you would expect on benches or in the back of weaker teams, each player has an unique look and personality, a lot of them have big development during the episodes. you are guaranteed to find at least enough players you love to make your own dream team. fourth - the POWERS. i said it's "football with superpowers", i didn't lie. in the universe of inazuma eleven exist "hissatsu", powers which athletes can create or copy from someone else. they are mostly gained by training the same movements or specific combinations of other hissatsu. hissatsu can be anything, making yourself run way faster for few seconds? creating mirages of the ball? summoning a dragon which will distract the goalkeeper when he's trying to catch the ball? you get me. hissatsu are the core part of inazuma eleven and almost every player on the national turnament's level has at least one. fifth - the MUSIC. inazuma eleven has insanely good soundtrack, be it the themes of each team, the openings, or anything else. IMPORTANT INFO HERE - INAZUMA HAS PROBLEM WITH COPYRIGHT CLAIMS WHEN THE MUSIC IS HEARD, YOU WILL HAVE TO MUTE THE MOMENT IT'S ON. sixth (and my last point) - the VISUALS. sadly in this term the anime is a bit lacking during the first 25 or so episodes as the anime aired between 2008 and 2014 (with a reboot around 2017 but we don't talk about the reboot). the proportions are weird, the animation is a bit choppy, but inazuma eleven instead took the animation cons and made them it's pros. you might take a few episodes to get used, but the animation style works perfectly with the detailed (for the years it aired) hissatsu. the locations, kits, players, everything is colorfull and you can see a random scene and instantly know what's the current mood of the team by looking at the colours, sky and so on. now since i got carried away a bit i will end here. i really hope i interested you in it and that you will answer what do you think of my comment. thanks if you read through it all and have a nice day man
i like how you react on the vid.. maybe because you are a trainer yourself? tho i wish u do this more often.. feels kind of slow to me on how often you release your react video
