I adopted this male cat that was in a horrible situation. He was abandoned when some people moved and he bonded with me the day I brought him home. He follows me all over the place and named him Phoenix because the Phoenix means new beginning. But anyway, he follows me all over the place, my friend who owns a rental found him after her tenants left and he was hiding in the closet facing the wall. He was depressed. Poor thing he's got a better life now.
@JaniceRigsbee-xx5ph rescued animals are amazing in their ability to heal when they know they are loved. I have a feral that has gotten half her side slices off in a car fan last year. She is all healed physically, but she won't let us touch her as she is still scared. She gets closer to us than she used to and knows our dogs aren't going to hurt her so she is calmer when they are near her than she was, as long as they don't get to close. I have been feeding her for years, and she is so tiny. She ended up having kittens in my bathroom closet 4 years ago, which was the first time I brought her in. It was cold and the babies wouldn't have survived had she birthed them outside. Her best friend is a very sweet, affectionate stray who now thinks he lives here, and I guess he does, LOL.
@cathyscroggy7574 don't be afraid, it's my downfall too. I prefer to think of it as a safe vice than drink or drugs... Plus, you get all kinds of pretty stuff for really good prices! We can form a support group later if need be, but for now, I choose to indulge.
