Ihor! Been watching your videos for quite some time now and I must say you are one of my favorite musicians to draw inspiration from. I love your personality and approach to making music. Hope this finds you well. Cheers 👋🏻
Hey Ihor! Thank you for the video. You've truly created some incredible beats from Zaps. Your ability to bring out the best in the sounds and rhythms is impressive. Amazing work!
Thank you! As I mentioned it was just scratching the surface of what Zaps is capable of. I am looking forward to digging more into it! Amazing work on this great module!
Happy you expanded on this module. The request for more advanced usage is needed. Powerful module, but no one really expands upon why the other cv inputs on the ZAPs are there and what one can do with them. Definitely Best Zaps yt seen yet! Keep it up! & TY!
First time watching your channel and Im having a blast. This is probably one of the best demos/jams I´ve seen on modular gear, and I have seen like pretty much all them... Kudos for that natural way of made machines sing
You should try out some IME gear. I sold all my NE stuff after getting my first IME oscillator. Now I have mostly IME stuff. The IME oscillators are very powerful and have a weight that I felt was missing from the NE oscillators. They sounded thin to me. I could get along with their wave folders. That’s my opinion at least.
So its routable which is extremely open which saves youre presets winter is good at this workflow asset ... openess. I think this overlooked by other hybrid module designers.
I was actually looking to get sounds like these but I'm still on the fence about eurorack due to costs. I found Glitchmachines Tactic VST does get pretty close to those random like sequences.
What style/genre of music would you call this? It’s not quite techno, glitch or electronica (IMO). I’d like to discover and listen to more of it. Anyone have suggestions?
Hard to say, to be honest. Something like Glitch IDM. Electronica has become to broad. I don’t really know what electronica really is. However IDM is the same. Looking for suggestions too!
Hello Ihor! I would like to start with techno production (groove techno but also hard techno). What kind of devices I need as a beginner? Is a Rytm MK2 enough for everything? Or should I buy different multiple devices? I don't care about the learn curve, I am patient and I know that learning takes time. Thank you in advance.
Well, Rytm can get you covered quite a lot. It has a lot to offer - drum synths, vco synths, samples, sequencer, performance mode, etc. It integrates great with any DAW and can be an extremely useful part of a hybrid workflow. It’s a bit expensive though. Partially you pay for all the analog circuitry in it. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But still there are cheaper alternatives like Syntakt that you can have a look at. What I would recommend is to watch a few different takes on the Rytm or Syntakt on RUclips. Listen to how it sounds and its character. From the workflow perspective I think any Elektron machine is great!
so zaps is creating that glitchy transistion mainly or is that another module? would like to build something up that doesn't neccesarily require all these modules but get close enough to the same sound. im assuming the zaps module at minimum?
Zaps is the one that creates those glitchy sounds. Other modules sequence it and add effects. To make it very minimal you’ll need at least CV and gate sequencer to make it work 👌
@@aikighost well, this is a synthesiser first of all. I can expect the sounds that it makes to be processed in a way that fits into a specific production.
So we need a part 2 for the other features of ZAPs. 😊
Great to see another video from you again, it's been a while.

I've been watching the Zaps module for about a year, and this one sold me on it. Super cool grooves! Ihor is kind of a master of 62hp ; )
We missed you ihor!!! Its good to see you back
Huge props to Winter and Plankton. Great module.
100%
one of the best modular music videos ever
Thanks!
Great fun! Zaps is a cool module; so capable. You made some great jams with it.
Thanks Paul!
Awesome video Ihor. That kind of use of Mimetic Digitalis is one of my favorites as well. Really nice grooves and great explanations 👌🏻
With all the features MD has I very much enjoy it's playability! Thank you for your comment!

Thank you! I am definitely going to make another video with a deeper dive into the Zaps!
I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SOUND
Nice groove on 2nd example!
Yeah! I like it so much!
Always a nice surprise when you post a new video brother! Cheers!
This is a perfect synthesized perfusion and sequencing set up for me. Nicely demonstrated.
Thank you! I love sequencing in that way! Glad you like it!

Very much thank you for such kind feedback!
Your channel is so underrated. You make me want to buy too many modules. Love the content ❤
Sorry 😳
Zaps is the modern iteration of the Syncussion.
Goodness! I love that patch. Lots of super fun bits of ear candy! Amazing as always!
Thanks!
Wow! Zaps in your hands is 🔥
Thank you so much for knowing how to get so much out of it
Thank you! Zaps delivers!

Dude, this thing is so sick! Thanks for the video! Loved this one.
Thank you!
Such a sick video! Great sounds going on here
I was sceptical at first, but by 11:18 you really brought some groove!
Nice to see you on air again.

Zaps looks great and is exactly what I've been looking for for my rig. Damn. More money! 😅
Sorry 😊
Love it!
Nice to see you again! I hope you had good time in Berlin at SuperBooth!
Superbooth was great!
He's back ❤
Day made. Welcome back man.

Oh yeah, that's nice.
Top good !

🔥🔥🔥
This seems incredible! Although, I feel like my brain is currently saturated with what I'm working with at the moment 🙃🤣
That's great! What is it you are working on?
Loading… 😂❤❤❤

This video keeps Zaps in my rack.
great! is this a good setup for beginners?

damn dood, ill take 5 of those 💀💀💀💀
Haha! YES!
Can you do a beats from scratch on the analog 4 i think its very missed out on
I don't have one 🫤

One of those modules that are more exciting on paper than they actually are.
I think quite the opposite here. Zaps delivers great! Very well designed and thought through percussion-line synth module.
I also found it a bit weak initially bit if you process it correctly its quite punchy.
@@aikighost well, this is a synthesiser first of all. I can expect the sounds that it makes to be processed in a way that fits into a specific production.
so, cool, but this video is kiiiiiinda more of a NE and syntakt promo than it is zaps..
My Man. Good to see you again
Good to see you too!
