I am a retiree. My dad worked for the HAECO. Our family enjoyed the fringe benefit of paying 10% of the CX fare. I reaped most benefits flying between HKG and LGW when I studied in the UK. Thanks to my dad.
15:00 Hong Kongers, ABCs, CBCs, bananas ALWAYS yield to westerners. They can learn from mainlaners to have a backbone and rid their inferiority complex. Respect to the young mainland girl who was travelling on her own stand up to the middle aged xenophobic HK couple. Also kudos to the other passengers coming to her defence. Those passengers witness the whole event so I dont buy your criticism of the girl editing the video to her benefit.
Most of the passengers, in fact, can only see parts of the event. They may not even know what actually caused the conflict. The video did not show the first conversation between the girl and the couple, nor the entire altercation that occurred later on. The girl said that she was insulted and discriminated against by the couple, but these crucial parts were all cut out from the video for some reason. All we could hear from the video are a few words said by the old lady.

之前我搭國泰 直航班機 返香港, 全機爆滿.
空中服務員有男有女, 好多嘢做好忙.
用餐之後, 飯盒 太多, 第一排 座位前面, 臨時 放咗一架 飯盒 車.
飯盒 堆積如山, 突然 跌咗幾個飯盒落地下.
好在職員 好快幫手清潔, 隔咗五分鐘又清潔多一次.
這個旅程好 安全, 舒服.

The HK couple is definitely at fault
空姐 不應該叫 坐前面的乘客 將 椅背 放直！！！ 空姐 也要對後面的乘客說 不要踢 座椅！！！ 也不要 粗暴 搖前面椅背！！ 毀壞公物的嚴重後果！！！ 空姐一開始就做錯了！！！ 空姐要再培訓！！！💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏
有, 佢地曾多次勸阻後面既夫婦，叫佢地唔好將腳放上椅背！機艙服務經理也曾兩次嚴重警告佢地......空姐要求前方女子將椅背升返高的 (無叫佢放直), 係絕對合情合理合規！因為佢椅背真係放得太低, 對後面乘客做成阻礙, 但又無理堅持拒絕同後面協調。最後因為雙方無法和解, 決定讓女子調位 (經濟艙無位, 免費俾佢升艙)，班空姐根本完全無做錯! 國泰亦已發聲明，表明不會發警告信或解雇當日負責執勤既任何人員！
