Loved watching this video... my gr3at grandfather was involved in the building of the canal and my grandfather, as teenager, was there with him!! I've always wanted to do this trip, but at this point in my life, doubt that will happen, so that made your video even more special to me. Thank you for that 🙃
This was an awesome video! I loved going through the Panama Canal with you both. The highlight was at the end of the day with Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline." Thank you for the laugh!!!
I did enjoy the Go-Pro Timelapse. … on an Alaskan note, my niece just did a whale watch with Glacier Wind. Thanks for recommending them; it was spectacular.
I hope you enjoyed your Panama Canal transit. I so appreciate your pictures. When we did the Panama Canal trip we only did a partial transit. But it was amazing. My pictures thrilled, my young grandsons! Thank you for sharing your experiences.
We figured since we goofed on this series and it would have been a "do we remember this dinner" again anyway, there wasn't much point, ha ha... it'll be back, but we skipped it just this one time, and we're going to try to not skip the wrap-ups in the future if we can help it!! :P
This was an awesome video! I was like Dee and not really excited to go on a cruise thru the Panama Canal, but now it is on my bucket list. You guys are the best! Thank you!
A Panama Canal cruise was always a cruise I'd like to take eventually. Thanks for sharing what the experience was like. Was always fascinating by how the transit works.
Love watching your videos. Booked on the Coral Princess Apr 2025, east west full Panama Canel transit. Watching your videos helped make that decision! Was the piano player in Crooners Don Jaun? If so he has been on our last 2 Princess cruises. Alaska Coral Princess Sept 2019 and Alaska Majestic Princess Sept 2023. He's great!
We did a partial transit in the old canal on the Zuiderdam, using the old locks and with the bow open. Amazing. Then a smaller boat excursion for the remainder, with a bus back. Before your next transit, watch the documentary “A Man, A Plan, A Canal”. They had it on the tv on the ship.
Panama Canal is def @ the top of my bucket list cruises. I enjoyed every moment of this 41 minute video! I wish I could give more than jus 1 thumbs up 👍🏽
Thank you for this video on the Panama Canal. It was also interesting that you could see monkey island from 2 perspectives. I bet you were glad you had better weather with your initial monkey island tour.
Good morning Jay and Dee. Also brings back memories of our Panama Canal transit from Atlantic to Pacific in January, 1996 on RCC Legend of the Seas. An awesome 8 hr. experience indeed!!! Enjoy!❤️
Please do not ever stop "Jay's Sock of the Day"! Best ever. 😎😎
It's been with us since our very first vlog series in 2015, so I guess it's here to stay!! :P

MEMORIES…went through twice..if there wasn’t other places on my bucket list. I would go again…Thank you guys for a nice video🚢🙂
Loved watching the mules run up & down the tracks. 😊
We loved the Panama Canal cruise so much we did it twice. First East to west then West coast to east coast.
This was an awesome video! I loved going through the Panama Canal with you both. The highlight was at the end of the day with Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline." Thank you for the laugh!!!
When I lived in Panama, I paddled a cayuco through the Canal. I really want to cruise through!
Great Job, Jay🎉 this is a very good video ❤
Thank you brought back wonderful memories once on Princess and once on Holland America. We had rain both times
Panama not on my cruise list but it is now that I’ve seen this!!! So cool

My coworker is going on her first cruise. I told her to check out your port guides
Thank y'all so much 💓 we enjoyed it. ❤
This is amazing!
This is great! I'm doing this itinerary in the opposite direction on my all time favorite ship the Carnival Spirit in March! Can. not. wait!
Thanks for your video is very entertaining❤
Beautiful.
Thank you so much. We are doing the same west-east transit from Vancouver-Fort Lauderdale in September on Nieuw Amsterdam. Very excited to watch this.
We did a partial canal traversing on the Pride in March. In the top 10 favorites of all our cruises!
We went thru 68! Locks on our Viking River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam!!!!😮
Finally getting to watch this and it is so fascinating!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I remember the song we learned in school about the Erie canal. "I got a mule, her name is Sal, 15 miles on the Erie canal.."
Shout out Van Halen.
No matter how long the video is, please don’t skip the ding dong dinner dish! 😭
We figured since we goofed on this series and it would have been a "do we remember this dinner" again anyway, there wasn't much point, ha ha... it'll be back, but we skipped it just this one time, and we're going to try to not skip the wrap-ups in the future if we can help it!! :P
I understand. I just really wanted to hear how the seafood bowl was! 😋
Hey Jay great job narrating the locks!!

My husband and I did this Panama Canal cruise in 2016, best cruise we ever took!
So the new big bigger biggest ships would have to fit through the newer locks? Your ship was looking pretty close to the edges there.
Larger ships have to use the new locks, yes. Only a “Panamax” type ship can fit through the old, apparently.
This was so cool, thanks for sharing❤️❤️❤️
Kool, absolutely the best filming of the canal I’ve ever seen, thx Ron.
Great video Dee and Jay. 👍🏻 I must say one of the best to date.
This was fascinating!
Love watching your videos. What month is the best to witness salmon in Ketchikan. Planning a cruise to Alaska in 2025
Thankee! The salmon run can really vary from year to year, but we've found the last two to three weeks of August to be a pretty safe bet!! :D
@@parodeejay thank you
This has been on my bucket list since I did a report on it back in grade school.
Now, I think it might be a retirement gift to ourselves.

Stayed in Panama in 1985. Our group had a private tour of Miraflores locks to see gears and operations. Hope to go on HAL in Oct for a transit trip
I think I went on the Panama canal cruise 2 or 3 times all west bound from ft lauderdale
WOWOWOWOWOW!!!! Such a cool day! I loved all the lock footage. Thank you!
Great footage guys good job very interesting 👍🏼
All with Holland America love that cruise line
The sun is rising in the west! That is crazy!
Good morning Jay and Dee. Also brings back memories of our Panama Canal transit from Atlantic to Pacific in January, 1996 on RCC Legend of the Seas. An awesome 8 hr. experience indeed!!! Enjoy!❤️
I was up at 4:45 AM I heard the anchor going up! This was such a great day!,
how crazy...it looks too small for the ship to fit in there!
Good morning. This brings back so many memories of when I went through theses locks. I was up at 4am to see what was going on.
