- First things first....smart phone audio is pretty bad, but I figured I'd give it a shot for a video like this. Lesson learned!
Wells Gardner K7000 flyback replaced from my Neo Geo. Typical K7XXX replacement. This one was throwing sparks!
The Arcade Buffet also has a good video on how to replace the flyback as well which is a little shorter.
• how to change a K7000 ...
Great video. Wish I had seen it before I did mine instead of searching for it AFTER I did mine and had trouble.. I'd have realized then that I didn't have to cut and splice the wire from the top of the flyback - I didn't know that little clip on the neck board socket opened. :-) Also, in case someone else sees this - The small wire on my neckboard that you desoldered was in a different place on mine, and actually had a socket from the old flyback. I wanted to reuse the socket, so in this case, I'm glad I spliced the wire instead of seeing you solder straight to the board!
Thank you. After 2 years, I'm actually going to replace my k7000 flyback transformer. I'm slacking.
I hope they will keep producing these flyblacks for a long, long time.
+The Kong me too! Especially considering how they like to go so frequently it seems.
One of my pads on my flyback lifted how do you fix?
THAT TIM GUY, what is the differences between a Vector monitor compared to a Raster monitor?
A few things. Angle of the tube is different and the chassis works differently. The logic on the chassis is a little different too. Vector monitors draw lines from point to point and aren't filling in the space of a shape. Raster monitors fill in the screen line by line rapidly and can handle those pixel graphics. That's the short non technical version. I'm sure someone out there may have a better explanation though!
@@ThatTimGuy what do you mean by the chassis works differently? the chassis is just a ground or earth ground i thought. The B+ voltage for monitors is used for what reasons for the sync circuit and hold circuit, i'm not sure what the B+ voltage is a bias voltage or DC offset voltage for what? H&V sync signals are the positions coordinates for the CRT but the XY deflection signals are also positions coordinates for the CRT, so both are the positions coordinates for the CRT? Older arcade power supplies use only one Filter cap rated at 27,000uf or higher capacitance any reason why such a very high capacitance value?
Is that the 3rd flyback on that chassis Tim? Shouldn't they last longer than that?
+atariforever2002 I believe it is. This does look like it was on location even recently within the last few years. But you would think they should last longer.
Does anyone know if this is the monitor in a original tmnt machine? My anode cup broke off so I need to replace it.
Just replaced the flyback (and did cap kit) on mine.. Now I get neck glow, but nothing on screen.. Any directions for adjustment of the pots on the flyback? Thanks for great video!
So.. I just adjusted the screen setting up, and it's at least showing picture.. Off to use the TPG and see if I can't get this thing dialed in.. Thanks again for the video..
Don’t forget you have other pots to help dial it in such as the contrast/black level. Glad it was helpful, dialing them in is an art and I’m not quite there yet! On a black screen if you can start to see some other lines showing through the flyback is up too high. Don’t forget to adjust the focus too. Images should be nice and crisp. Thanks again and good luck!
When taking out my flyback I noticed that pin 3 of p202(on the neckboard) wasnt soldered or connected to anything.
Where does pin 3 of p202 go?
If I recall, not all the pins went to something
That Tim Guy ok, thank you so much!
@thattimguy can you till me what your cap value for c38 is? Its horizontal width.
I'm going to need to dig around for that chassis or my cap list. If I don't get back to you in a day or so, just drop me a message.
I just did the recaps on my k7000 and get it to run properly while is on it's fine but if I turn it on the next day it's not working property looks to be the v-hold scrolling, is this problem because I need to replace the flyback?
TIA
Check the solder joints for vertical hold pot. Maybe reflow them and clean the pot with some Deoxit. Also just make sure any of the caps on that circuit have good solder joints after you recapped it. Good luck!
My remote board went bad and caused vhold to go nuts. Poking it would either straighten it out or make it scroll. New one resolved issue.
Hi everybody, I bought a flyback 053x0641-001 in arcadeshop.com, first to all the new one flyback is more big than the original , 24 volts output come in diferent flyback pin, 12 volts output do not come at all, this not a problem I can use a external power supply for this.
My big problem is the high voltage output, is to high.
Everything in the board is ok B+ is 119 volts like the schematics say.
Any help will be appreciate.
Cheers.
I've seen people use epoxy on the pinhole to repair the flyback in a pinch. :-)
+DeLuSioNaL's Arcade ehhhhh.... I'll pass haha
i think those china flybacks are very bad :S, what do you think guys ?
