    FYI: piano on this track was played by the late, great Larry Knechtel, who played with the famous Wrecking Crew musicians, played piano on Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, and was a member of the group Bread.

    Johnny was born in NY. His parents moved to Baton Rouge when he was a teenager where he picked up that Louisiana musical style that's so prevalent in this song.

    LOL. I remember "shaking my tail feathers" to this one. I was 9 years old when this came out. And along these same lines you should check out Johnny Rivers - Sea Cruise (1973) - great piano and horns. There were many covers of this song but this is the one I remember most from around the same time as Rockin Pnuemonia & Boogie Woogie Flu.

    Cool; hadn’t heard this one in years!👍👍. He was big in the 60s and continued thru the 70s; he did a lot of covers later on. Agree with other’s suggesting “Secret Agent Man”; from 1964, the first song I remember by Johnny Rivers!❤❤❤❤

    Yes. So glad you got to this one. We all knew you would love it when we requested it. You are so right. It moves and gets you moving from start to finish. I caught it over 50 years ago and hope they never find a cure. Great lyrics and singing, but the piano makes the song of course. Give Secret Agent Man a listen when you get back around to Johnny.

    You should react to "Summer Rain".
    About 20 years ago, I saw Johnny Rivers at an outdoor show in Boston. It rained during the show driving many people away.
    I stayed and met Rivers after the show and told him that was quite a summer rain. He said, "Ha Ha!!!"

    More Johnny Rivers! His cover of “Sea Cruise” is fun! I’ve loved it ever since I was a little kid. There is a British piano teacher, Terry Miles, who posts videos on RUclips of his search for pianos in pubs. With his style he often brings a smile to the faces of the bystanders. He must have caught the boogie woogie flu too.

    That was Larry Knechtelon playing the piano. He was a member of the famous session musician group, The Wrecking Crew. I knew Jay would love the piano on this one. It's one of the best rocking boogie piano parts ever put to tape!
