Summary:
In 1513 Ponce de León sailed to Florida in search of The Fountain of Youth. His inability to find it is said to have driven him mad. The fountain would remain undiscovered for another 480 years. That’s when four retired women, Dorthy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia, found it on the grounds of their senior living facility in Miami.

Honestly, this is just making me want to go watch the original show. I get the feeling that after just a few episodes of this, even the people praising this will be over the "twist" concept. If you really want to make a "Golden Girls set in the future" show, then do that, but with original characters, plots, and writing. The market is well past the oversaturation point for remakes by now.
I agree. I was enjoying it until Stan walked in. It quickly went down hill after that. But a Golden Girls cartoon based on the ORIGINAL SHOW...that would be fantastic. I always wanted someone to do a cartoon version of The Lucy Show, explore the antics of Lucy and Viv in cartoon form. That would be fantastic.
It made me want to watch the real Golden Girls too. That's what I'm fixing to do. Damn, I am still grieving the loss of Betty White.

If you read the address they call it Skyami, so I'm assuming the actual Florida has long since sunk beneath the waves. Good.
Over a third of the country's vegetables and two-thirds of the country's fruits and nuts are grown in California... and as of 2021, California had a $3.4 trillion gross state product ... the largest sub-national economy in the world. I'm sure a LOT of people would not be okay with California being under water.

reading the comments only further proves my point that we have become obsessed with pop culture. this is why you get the Simpsons running for over 30 years, needless reboots, reimaginings, prequels, and sequels, we've all been placed in a nostalgic time loop instead of progressing onto new and original ideas. due to this, we have become creatively stagnated, hence a poorly animated show based on the audio of the actors from previous episodes...
If they used voice clips from various episodes and rearranged them to create new stories this could actually be an interesting show. Also... I get that the Golden Girls found the Fountain of Youth and are basically immortal now, but how is Stan still alive... and an alien? An episode that explains that the original Stan is in fact dead and that Dorothy made the mistake of marrying another man named Stan with the exact same personality as her first husband would be hilarious.
I like your idea. I'm thinking long-living (or time-traveling) alien who ate Stan and is one of many people living inside the alien. Hence why we don't see him often.
This makes me wanting to watch the original. I think I will... insted of this mess.

I honestly wouldn't want to see more than 5 minutes of this, hell after 2 minutes i'm sick of it. Don't recycling an old show that was perfectly serviceable then and now, rather just put the original on and not with a bunch of Jetsonified graphic visuals that will never be, and gags that really fall flat and are there just because. I don't like seeing something i rather enjoyed when i was younger stomped on.

This is funny! I wouldn't mind an animated Golden Girls ✨️ series. I'm not sure it needs to recycle the old episode audio or be set in space. They should use impersonators so that the scripts could be free up. It would be fun to see the Golden Girls in modern situations. Love the idea 💡 of an adult animated series.

The Golden Girls was my all time favorite TV show and I still watch the reruns to this day. But honestly this cartoon version isn't close to the girls I knew and love as Dorothy,Sofia,
Blanche and Rose.
But it does get me in the mood for the real gals on the original show.
I guess some old habits are hard to stop..... so thank you for fond memories of my past.
I like the concept but not for this show. Before TV, people used to listen to radio programs like "Gun Smoke" or "The Shadow" or "Jack Benny" and many many more that were all hit programs. There are 1000s & 1000s of hours of audio for shows that have never been seen because they were only heard, animate those shows instead.
I saw a few years ago I saw 3 or 4 cartoons made out of original scripts from My Favorite Husband. It is absolutely lovely. It was taken right from the original radio program and made in animated form. Loved it. This is silly. I'm sorry but it's just not the Golden Girls to me. I can for sure picture Bea Arthur not liking it.

Golden Girls survived one bad reboot already, nothing that happens will ever taint the original. I think this is fun and clever, I like the concept. With all of them gone now, it feels like a sweet thing to imagine them like we always saw them, immortal.

The Golden Palace wasn’t a reboot, though. If anything, it was just a bonus TGG season without Dorothy.

@@MHSNetwork a reboot is when a show starts over from scratch. Examples would be Westworld, Gossip Girl, etc. The Golden Palace was more of a spin off

I loved everything about this. The only change I would make is to make Stan's voice a bit more coherent. It should still stay "alien" like but just a bit more coherent. Even if Stan's voice does stay the same I would definitely watch this show

@@jamesdanton9033 I have seen the original, and seeing a future themed continuation would be interesting. Not necessarily as good as the original, but at least a mildly entertaining miniseries. The likelihood that this is going to be a full series, however, is minimal because of the lazy execution.

I've always loved the GG since I was a kid, and have even bought the guide to the series, and I can honestly say I really like this remake, it's fresh and amusing, keeping the essential essence of the show and the characters, but nodding towards stylised "The Future" the Jetsons style animation. Stan as an alien with grabby sleazy tentacles is inspired! It's a way of keeping the series going now all the cast have sadly gone.
I think this could work with real actors as well, but they'd need to be carefully chosen.
Dont know why it's taking such a pasting, I'd like to see more of this.

Also, cool animation, neat how you were able to incorporate actual audio from the original Golden Girls, and the irony that Sophia is now several times larger than Dorothy, among other things. Bravo!

I don't think this is meant to be taken seriously. Gave me a chuckle. My only nitpick is some of the sound effects that cover up the dialogue. I only know what was being said because I remember it. The super magnify on the fake diamond is funny, though.
This is the best! Even the animation feels retro. So much fun, but I have to ask, where is Sophia's iconic purse?
She's holding it in the intro when Dorothy opens the front door. XD

Love it, except that I hate the green kitchen and the purple sky.
Kitchen should have been a warmer colour, keep it futuristic but warmer to make it a bit cozy like the real one. I don't like that green.
Also the sky... Skyami should have a blue sunny sky like the real Miami maybe even a floating grassy front yard like the real house..
Apart from that it was funny and hope the show comes out, give me an excuse to watch the show even one more time after I rewatch the original lol.

What they don't get about Bojack Horseman being a hit is, that it was a unique character with a development. This isn't new, this isn't interesting and nothing will really surprise us past this pilot.

I dunno, this seems a bit too much. The song doesn’t do it for me. Sofia being so big doesn’t make sense. She should remain small. That’s a part of her charm. And it’s too futuristic.

No, just no... I loved the originals with my Grandparents. At least get voice actors and write new episodes. This is just lazy and insulting. I did find bits funny, but overall it's nothing I would watch. This is some one who has the originals on dvd and on his pc for rainy days. Any ways, funny idea, but meh go back to the drawing board.
