Anthony Joshua, I won't call him by the media darling name "AJ", has been fawned over for years because he is a cash cow. Duke McKenzie, who isn't a yes man like most of the pundits, predicted weeks ago that Dubois would do this to Joshua, and as I have always thought that he is an overrrated fighter, I had a bet on the younger fighter to win.
I find it hard to believe that people who know boxing couldn't see this happening, but we are living in a time of unrivalled media hype and propaganda in regard to worshipping the rich, famous, and posers. Joshua has done well, but he is a celebrity fighter who would not have been a champion in any other era. He has made a lot of media and corporations money, but is not a great fighter.

      Good shout.
Even his biggest win, against Vald K, he was on wobbly street but landed a good uppercut pretty much with his eyes closed.
But that’s heavyweights and he got a good victory.
But they’re no other big wins. Didn’t fight Wilder (even though not great, he was the other man in the division) isn’t going to fight Fury in the end, lost to Usyk twice, Ruiz once, (although I have this down as the same in reverse, Ruiz threw a punch with eyes closed and scrambled Joshua. It can happen with heavyweights) and now Dubois.
Best wins other than Vlad are probably Whyte and Chisora.
He’s never been the same fighter since Ruiz really.

People are very fickle if they get a good win they are the best and if they lose they are finished. Styles make fights and AJ is technically very limited and robotic with a bad chin. I still think Usyk has the ring craft and stamina to school Dubois but Dubois is a match for anyone else.

Joshua's fight was over after that bomb landed in the first round. You've got to give him credit for surviving the next four rounds. Can he come back from this will he did after Ruiz but there's a few years on the clock since then so who knows. All credit to Daniel Dubois this is the animal instincts we've all been waiting for from him. This is the Daniel I expected to see against Joe Joyce but it didn't happen but he's here now. Why does everyone keep saying the result was a shock? Joshua has always been overrated & been spoon fed opponents his whole career. Ok, he has a good right hand & a decent jab when he decides to use it, but he panics when he gets clipped & doesn't know what to do, he has poor feet & he doesn't have an engine. It looks like the money train may have stopped as that is all Eddie Hearn kept him around for. You will always have the Joshua fan boys but it really is over.

      @jamesfretwell1511 Месяц назад

Usyk won every single round in that fight, but because of a low blow, you think he deserved credit? Yes he deserves credit for beating AJ, but a low blow on the small intestines will hurt any fighter in the world and your asking people to give someone credit for trying to cheat when they couldnt find a way legitimately? We are all happy AJ got beat because he underestimated Dubios all along, but people need to calm down a little bit imho. Hes got a long way to go to be considered a elite fighter, because AJ looked pathetically defenseless in this fight, and the win against Hergavich was no suprise too me at all. Hergavich looked poor for years, and should of already had losses on his record, especially after getting a flukey win over Zhang.

@@jamesfretwell1511 man it’s heavyweight boxing, always 1 punch away from being over. That low blow wasn’t super egregious, it hit a lot of belt line. I stand on what I said, DDD just missed the perfect body shot.

Never rated AJ that much tbh.
Nice guy, hard worker, fought puddings or past it fighters, lost 2, maybe even 3 of his 4 Olympic fights in London 2012, yet was gifted the gold.
Still can't help like the guy tho.

They all bought the Joshua hype. They were lauding Joshua's calm cool approach to the fight and belittling Dubois approach, only problem is Joshua can't fight. Only in this heavyweight era would Joshua be a champion.

AJ was stiff with his chin in the air because he wasn’t thinking straight. He got clobbered early and stayed clobbered. He’s not the first and definitely won’t be the last.

I think AJ has one last one in him. Let him rest up and if fury loses again then make the fught and both retire. Their both past their prime but that fight would still be a war

First it is not shock, I completely predicted a battering and on the basis AJ has been battered before. AJ was never gonna win or bully anyone, you are just justifying your living and so called reputation. It is all about AJ’s flaws which have been clear to see throughout his career, these guys so called experts are either clueless or soulless salesmen. Well done to DD, also for putting some much needed credit on boxing which had gone the way of WWE, which was my only doubt!

You guys all under estimated DD and as always overrated AJ and were taken by the endless hype. AJs last 3 opponents offered no danger , he can’t take fast hard punched to the head , Ruiz showed it and DD proved it .

big credit to Daniel he took centre in the ring established the jab and never let AJ get comfortable or find his rhythm…
