Just purchased mine 5 days ago a 04 tsx ...great car always liked how they look...all im missing is a replacement middle console and we are good to go...😎
My honest opinion after having it as a daily for 5 years is that it's just an okay car. I came from an EM1 civic and I tend to think about it more than my TSX. The chassis is a bit on the heavy side. Exterior parts are ridiculously rare and expensive! Normal maintenance is required, changing plugs, starter, alternator, tranny fluid flush. They have issues with axels, Bluetooth parasitic drain, AC unit failing, and burning oil. A lot of these cars are used as daily's and are very prone to rust in the Midwest. Finding clean ones are hard. Good luck if you do plan to purchase one in the future.
Definitely heavy cars but has a chassis and motor with plenty of potential, and really those are just the common maintenances that has to be done. Axles issues is really the passenger side mainly, and if your in east coast rust is a thing for every car lmaoo. All about finding what you like and can handle and making it better!! Thanks for your input though!
I've had my 2006 for 4 years. I feel the same "it's just an okay car". But also it was ahead of its time and is now considered a basic trim level car by today's standards. So, for a car that is almost 17 years old it's good and most importantly paid off :)
If you can find one YES. I took a chance on an 06 and it's the best car I've ever had. (122.5k now) Fuel efficiency, handling, sound system, leather heated, RELIABILITY, easy to work on, and fastest 4 banger ever w the VTech
comes with the best kseries motor they look great and for the most part reliable! that's why I got a second one lol didn't necessarily plan to but it happened.
I am impressed with Acura's engineering...464,000km with 0 issues. Sure, had to replace wear and tear parts like alternator and starter. The asthetics of the car looks amazing
I have an 08 tsx that I bought in 2017 with 60k miles on it for 10k… it’s now got 225k! It’s not my daily anymore so I’m thinking of squeezing out some more HP out of the ol k24 engine. Everything is stock now except for intake and I was very surprised at how much of a difference that made.
Yuppp and if you want more I’d highly suggest getting a hondata give yourself a reflash and boy does the tsx wake up lol. Wish I came like that from factory, sounds like you have a solid tsx though for awhile!
My first non American car. 07 TSX. I'm absolutely in love. Another common issue is, if the front bumper cover gets even a little compromised, it just falls apart. I'd appreciate any advice on some aftermarket front ends. Thanks. Great videos on this channel.
@@RishMedia Thanks for the reply. The front bumper "cover" the piece(s) everything below the grill and headlights. Contains the fog lights. That whole piece wants to come off. Swings from the center connection only. Plus its all scratched up. Good piece to upgrade.
Not sure if this applies to later models, but the 04 auto still gives you a sequential manual option. It does lack a 6th gear, but you can still control your gears yourself.
I don't think a slammed tsx has folks "braking their necks" as much as he may think. I had a cambered out 04 with fbo 10yrs ago and enjoyed it for what it was. One major issue was that when the alpine disc thing in the trunk takes a sh*t, you can no longer control air/heat.
I bought an 08 TSX in Nov. 2008 as my 2nd car to own, Southern California here. Originally had a 06 Toyota Corolla 5-speed manual and lasted till 320k miles when I crashed but the car would have reached 400k easy. Parents bought it new back in 06 And I got the car in 2016 at 203k for college and life. I know what reliability is since the car was stupidly reliable, literately literally oil changes mostly for being already over 200k+. Anyways 08 TSX here in Southern California are very pricey since no rust and low mileage ones easily get too almost $10k. My 08 TSX had 119k when I got it for $8,500 and in only 8 months I’m now at 134k so I added 15k miles so I been driving it! It’s needed maintenance but some of I t done at home and some at a shop. Nothing that would have left me stranded besides alternator. Ohh mine is automatic. The automatic can shift using the knob for the transmission, there is no paddle shifters. Finding a manual TSX was impossible in Southern California, I wish I had found one since I already know manual from 4 years of driving the Corolla.
Forreal they’re becoming a lot harder to come by clean atleast and not as modified. Especially 6 speeds and they kinda sell like hot cakes. Atleast you’ve gotten the better year! I paid $5500 for this one 132k miles 08 6 speed Last one was a 04 arctic blue 6 speed fully loaded, 113k miles basically garage kept all its life. That one I bought for $6700 was such a beauty!
I recently followed you and I recently bought an acura tsx 2004 and I am changing it for little things since the person who had it did not fix it and I never use it again for things that rusted and others got covered and broke and I like everything you talk about and you do in your acura, but there is something that I still can't figure out where a noise is coming from and I have no idea what it could be is like a little knock it feels and it comes under the engine or I don't know the reality, I'm not a mechanic, but I just it does when I turn it on in the morning and start it, but then it doesn't happen, I think I'll take it to a mechanic but the mechanics (some) turn out to change what it isn't and charge more
Hey thanks for watching the channel, best of luck on the tsx build journey! The cold start knock could be something to do with the tensioner idler pulley, or also timing chain rattle from the Vtc cam gear, that tends to make noise at cold starts primarily. But could very well be something else hard to say without seeing the vehicle.
Im gonna say one thing about Meteor Silver Metallic as well through my experience. The color was made for 2 years. And since it was made the first 2 years, if you need a MIRROR... Its tough to get, especially if its heated, since it was made in that color for ONE year. I have a 2005 with heated mirrors and it wad a pain in the ass locating the mirrors when someone hit my driverside. Also, the 05 grey driver seat is TOUGH to get. Why? Its the only power TSX seat besides the 04 without the memory option, and in 05 they corrected the driver seat sliding slightly while braking hard. Had my TSX since 2013, and LOVE them. If I could do it again, I would look for a dark blue 06 TSX in a 6 speed manual probably. I love my 05 though, and I have added most 06 parts to it bolt-on wise, and interior wise. LOVE THE CONTENT. Sorry for the long ass message.
Ayeee that’s some good info/facts I didn’t really know about lol I really love the dark blue color aswell! I’d say try to get the 07-08 so you wouldn’t have to do a ecu swap! But these cars are great overall, a lot to get done for mine😅 and naaa I appreciate these kind of messages a ton 💪🏻

Should you buy a TSX/Honda accord type S? , YES YOU SHOULD RIGHT NOW. put a dual exit exhaust 63mm - 57mm preferably and a 101mm exhaust tips. do a reflash and hit vtec at 4200rpm, Make atleast 160KW/ 260NM. that is awesome to roll the streets if you wanna make nice power for an N/A motor. in my opinion it slaps nice on a Type R rim with coil overs. money worth spending
My first car was my dads hand-me-down TSX he bought as a mid life crisis car. First new car he bought for himself. He bought it new off the showroom floor back in 2004 and it has remained timeless to this day. But as people started to molest them, I started to lose interest. They were a great looking vehicle from the factory.
They are a great looking car for its age/year to this day people get surprised when I told them it’s a 04 or 08 lol! But that’s why I’m trying to represent and put a good name out for the Tsx’s gotta treat them right!

For the first gens 07-08 the best to get cause of the ECU and motor 06 has the better motor aswell just not the ECU for tuning. 04-05 have the slightly weaker motor and also no tuning capability without swapping ECUS. The 2nd gens I really couldn’t say to much with the different years but I’d assume 2010 would be better. Cause 09 being the first year they may have worked out some flaws
Really depends on preference what your looking for and all. Is the tsx 6 speed if so not a bad deal being a 08 too. Lexus is always a good car aswell but the es300 seems more like a daily driver kind of thing.

It's just like a Honda Accord', IT is a Honda Accord' a Better looking one 🙂 vs the triangular headlight having ones we got here for 03-07 Honda Accord (Honda inspire" else where)
They’re both pretty good and reliable cars, with the Lexus it may turn out more expensive not entirely sure how that platforms looking like. Thanks though man Tsx are great and was my first actual car too
I'm looking around and I can't find either a 1st gen TSX or 7th gen US version Accord anywhere with a manual transmission. I'd gladly take either one. You mentioned the unreliability of the auto trans in these cars. From the info I've gathered, it sounds like they might've fixed that issue in '07 with the Accord if I'm not mistaken. If that's the case, would that then apply to the TSX as well? Are the manual versions of these cars that rare or are people just not selling them?
The manuals are definitely becoming alot harder to come by and clean at that. Honestly i dont think the Auto trans are that bad, but if its never been maintained then probably wont last as long. Alot say if the fluid wasn’t changed for awhile probably best to leave it cause it’ll cause more harm then good. Theres quite a few boosted auto tsx aswell. The manuals are getting more rare each day, especially 07-08s certain combos.
It's an 09 with 73k miles for 4500 ac dosnt work and has some wear on the seats is there anything I should look for I'm buying it from a close family friend on Saturday is there anything I should look for in particular?
Honestly nothing to crazy more so around the 90k-110k mark just look up a maintenance check list for those. Also just ask if anything’s been done, given the ac doesn’t work already maybe not kept up as much
The TLs have the jseries so off rip it’s basically a faster heavy body. But i personally like the tsx look more and cant go wrong with a k24! Really your preference man, just do your research on them prior what goes bad see if its been changed etc.
I'd love this as a 3 season daily. Decent MPG, 200~ HP, manual, and good ole reliable Honda. Hey I'm just curious but what MPG do you average? I know it's not all about MPG but smiles per gallon but this would be the fun daily, so it's somewhat a concern. I used to daily a Mazdaspeed 6 and damn 17-18mpg getting 250-260 miles per 17.5 gallon tank sucked my wallet dry.
They’re great daily’s! Of course a little more expensive as you have to use premium but I was a lot of pedal to the metal. I think I was around 19-22 MPG but I know people who get in the 30s all about how you drive too 😅
If your lenses are haze polish them up but you may just need better and brighter white output bulbs. Head lights tho can go wrong with the clear depos on eBay
Of course man it’s what I love to do! And it really depends on how you drive, it’d definitely take a bit more on gas aswell we use premium gas. Nonetheless still great! I just have a heavy foot and 6 speed 😂
about to check out an 07 acura and same color as yours for 5.6k with 160k miles and the body is clean other than some little black marks should i go for it?
It isn’t bad some people average better but being 6 speed and more heavy footed doesn’t help 😂 also gotta use premium gas but still pretty good 20-28 mpg I think
@@ApexPred0226 i personally think hondas way more reliable then nissan, but in the end it’ll be personal preference. Id see if you can get the tsx down in price atleast the 4k range since It being a auto and 2004. Which middle console sir? If it’s with the arm rest I have the portion but without the arm test cause it broke off lol..
Still parting out my 2004 Tsx

(122.5k now)
Fuel efficiency, handling, sound system, leather heated, RELIABILITY, easy to work on, and fastest 4 banger ever w the VTech
I raced an older mustang on a straightaway and she was ready... Burned him with his gf in the car 🤣
comes with the best kseries motor they look great and for the most part reliable! that's why I got a second one lol didn't necessarily plan to but it happened.
I am impressed with Acura's engineering...464,000km with 0 issues. Sure, had to replace wear and tear parts like alternator and starter. The asthetics of the car looks amazing
Thanks bro . Made my decision!
Love to hear it!! 💪🏻😈

My 2005 tsx has been great daily driver 228,000 miles on it the 2.4 engine is bulletproof
They’re definitely great daily’s, just got to treat them right and could last forever!
They’re great cars! And which cover like where the hood latch is?
@@RishMedia Thanks for the reply. The front bumper "cover" the piece(s) everything below the grill and headlights. Contains the fog lights. That whole piece wants to come off. Swings from the center connection only. Plus its all scratched up. Good piece to upgrade.
300,000 kms on my rusty TSX and i beat on it everyday !!! best daily driver ive owned
Sounds like a grand ole time! 💪🏻👏
Not sure if this applies to later models, but the 04 auto still gives you a sequential manual option. It does lack a 6th gear, but you can still control your gears yourself.
Of course can still have your semi manual type of fun but just doesn’t hit the same. Personally haven’t driven a auto yet.
@@RishMedia oh absolutely. It doesn't hit the same. I would have preferred a manual too. (family didn't want to deal with manual)

I mean its happened to me plenty everyone enjoys different cars maybe your area wasn’t as honda appreciated. But yeah the older technology gets booty
Great car!!! I have an 06 arctic blue pearl with black interior, i wish it was a six speed though
At least you got the best color and the better motor in it!
I had a 2004 white pearl tsx. Crashed it recently, loved the car and would totallywould get another
That’s why I got another! Couldn’t pass up on a great car
I paid $5500 for this one 132k miles 08 6 speed
Last one was a 04 arctic blue 6 speed fully loaded, 113k miles basically garage kept all its life.

Nice your. Video. What year is best of TSX? 2009, 20010, tellme. Whats is better.

Honestly nothing to crazy more so around the 90k-110k mark just look up a maintenance check list for those. Also just ask if anything’s been done, given the ac doesn’t work already maybe not kept up as much
I'm considering either a TL or TSX as a first car, must be manual for either. Since i'm still 18, what would be the more reasonable purchase?
The TLs have the jseries so off rip it’s basically a faster heavy body. But i personally like the tsx look more and cant go wrong with a k24!
Really your preference man, just do your research on them prior what goes bad see if its been changed etc.
