    Dear Mr. Monette,
Have you ever worked with French Horn players interested in the making of better designs , both horns and mouthpieces? This video really blown my mind since we share pretty much a lot of the problems that trumpet players deal with. I appreciate your answer

Monette equipment, especially the Prana version mouthpieces, require some getting used to. The difference from every other mouthpiece is unbelievable however, I highly recommend!

tjnaples I just got my prana a week ago, and I completely agree that it's gunna take some time getting use to it. Although, the tone I get from it is absolutely amazing and the whole pitch center thing is true! Worth the money.

Uhh I have a question since the prana is the more advanced version and takes so time getting used to . Would my best bet be getting a regular monette mouthpiece to get used to monette? or try the prana to try and get adjusted to it for a better result in the long run?

But what happens to the over all intonation. Wont it be higher?

Hi Magnus. The answer is no! This question is often asked. There is a difference between overall pitch and pitch CENTER. Playing an out-of-tune mouthpiece means that you are not playing with accurate or consistent pitch center, meaning that some areas of the instrument's range may be roughly in tune (the middle register) while others are not (the low and high registers.) When you switch to a Monette mouthpiece with consistent pitch center through the entire range of the instrument, everything is now CENTERED - or 'in focus' if you like - where it wasn't before. The overall pitch has not changed because the out-of-tune mouthpiece wasn't centered or even to begin with.
