I’ve seen videos of it performed live, and even without the chorus and orchestra Freddie’s voice booms out, creating an echo effect that is gorgeous. And I cry whenever I see anything about Freddie’s last months. It pains me too, to see anything about what he went through and how he was treated. It’s sickening. And I saw it all in person when AIDS was the thing before the drugs mix came out that actually kept AIDS away, for the most part, from being HIV infected. It happened not long after Freddie’s death. And that movie Philadelphia is quite accurate in portraying what most go through. It was a horrible time. And people are still horrible, for the most part, in retrospect….
A couple of my favourite Queen songs written and sung by Sir Dr Brian May are '39 and Sleeping On The Sidewalk. A great live version of Who Wants To Live Forever is in Budapest 1986. Did you know that Freddie anonymously bought Christmas dinners for AIDS patients in hospital? A man of generous spirit and incredible talent. 👑
Who wants to live forever is one of those songs where if you are listening carefully you may also start to get goosebumps as well as perhaps crying with the emotion. The goosebumps are actually a sign that you are able to recognise Greatness when you hear it - and that's definitely what this song is and it's not just Freddie who delivers it, but of course he's the standout performer. RIP Freddie Mercury x
Brian May "Nothin' But Blue." The first time I listened to that song I was sobbing during the guitar solo and had no idea why. It was so emotional that I was gasping for breath. I had no idea at the time what the song was about or about the history, I just found it on my RUclips page. I later learned that Brian wrote this the night before Freddie died but he knew it was coming and you can hear it in his guitar. Please do listen to this song and even react to it if you wish. It is wonderful. This song was written by Brian for the Queen Soundtrack Album for the movie Highlander. He watched the movie or read the script and was taken by the idea that the main character is immortal and once again falling in love, wondering if love will be worth it when he will have to watch another love grow old and die. I absolutely love this song. I really enjoyed your reaction, thank you so much.
Happy Halloween Nat! 🎃👻☠️🫤 Penned by Brian for the Highlander movie soundtrack!! Queen was to submit one song for the film but after watching a short clip, all four members of Queen wrote a song & in Brian & Roger’s case they wrote two songs! FYI - October 31st is Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody 48th birthday! 🍁🍂🕸️🕷️🦇
Hey Hon! If you ever decide to react to a live version of this song, I’d recommend the performance on: FRIDAY, JULY 11, 1986 at Wembley Stadium (I specified the date because - maybe you already know - there’s actually two back-to-back Wembley concerts… Friday, July 11 & Saturday, July 12… For some songs in the set list, Friday was the best rendition… for others, Saturday was better.) Freddie’s PASSION in the Friday performance is literally SPINE TINGLING.. I’ve NEVER seen anything like it!🤯
Check out Brian’s own LOVE WILL KILL YOU. It’s also a Queen song that Freddie sang, but Brian wrote it. There’s a recording of it, a video, awesome. Different in its own right to Queens. 👍
Wasn't he wonderful? I saw Queen live in Montreal, 1981, on my 24th birthday. Sadly, Freddie also passed away on my birthday 10 years later. I light a candle for him, play this very song, and lift a glass to him. It will be 32 years coming up in a couple weeks.
Hurrah! You finally have headphones on! If you had any idea how many times I’ve screamed at you to get the bloody headphones on - usually with Pentatonix, my second love s. But that applies even more to my first love, Freddie and Queen. Now, you have to re-listen to every single PTX song again and hear the absolute difference.
Great reaction! Thanks! For some more Sir Brian May, I'd say go with his solo projects. He fronted the Brian May Band too. "Driven By You" - Official Video Version or "Too Much Love Will Kill You" - BRIANS Official Video (there is one with Queen too, but that's Freddie singing.) to get Brian by himself.
Iconic song , and so true , As who would really wants to live forever . Seeing every one around you grow old pas away , not ones but ever generation . Life would be turned in to a song that is put on repeat , no matter how beautiful the song or how emotional , the first 3 to 5 timed you love it , after 10 times it becomes slightly booring and after 20 times it starts to be annoying . and after 30 times it becomes torture . My greatest fear is that there is an afterlife , that would be hell .
Please also check out the cover of this sog done by PostModern Jukebox ft. Morgan James. She is Julliard trained singer and a voice to be reckoned with.
Thank you for your sensitive reaction, it is an understatement to say how much people with AIDS did not suffer and suffer from prejudice and the disease itself, there came a time when Freddie and the band had to go to another country to record their last albums because Freddie was being persecuted one day and night with people taking photos of their trash in search of medicine, in addition to the threats that people suffered just because they suspected the disease. Brian even insinuated that the press contributed to Freddie's premature death because with journalists at his door he stopped going to the doctor early for his treatments. The only consolation is that he was with people who loved him.
Out of interest re the acoustics of cathedrals, they are all built upon power points throughout the grids of the planet. That right there is probably the main reason for the spiritual, angelic sound effects. And hi from Scotland.

Nothing but blue by Brian and old friends by Roger both written for Freddie as an expression of their grief over losing Freddie just beautiful. Xx

Love your reactions!!
And I just love how my favourite songs turn you into mush, much as they do me.
You can react to brian may solo songs: back to the light or Resurrection
"Too much love will kill you" or for a rocking song "Resurrection" off of Brian May solo album. Enjoy.

Too much love will kill you by Brian May is gorgeous
I still miss Freddy Mercury's genius.
Freddy's suit was as divine as the song and recording. So glad you can not only react to queen but discuss them.
Adoro essa música e como as vozes de Brian e Freddie combinam, ótima reação
Dr Sir Brian May I love his voice ❤. Some Day One Day or Sail Away Sweet Sister are two to check out Nat
Amazing reaction! Thank you. And you look great!
I love 💕 queen

Try "You Know You Belong to Me" just Brian and his guitar, only 2 minutes
Compassion 🙏
Love your vampire make up. Personally, I don't need make up because I am...
I thought it was freddie!?
Hi nat how are you tonight
