I ran into a spot of bother with some parametric functionality of this in Inventor Pro 2014. I'll put this out to the AI community.
I'm creating a feature that replicates as a rectangular pattern based on the extrusion length of a cylinder. What I want to do is cut a certain spacing of circumferential teeth starting from the end of the extrusion (not the origin) - only so many teeth are possible for a given length so I had worked out an equation to come up with a valid number. Once I do a rotation I'm required to select all of the features I wish to rotate - but I can't seem to find a way to just select the output of the sketch rather than a specific feature.
Doing rotate feature-by-feature "works" at sketch completion time, but when I later adjust the length of the extrusion - Inventor loses its mind, rather than just solving how many features to rotate based on the output of the sketch.
Am I missing some buried option somewhere? Or am I too optimistic that I can pull simple programming into a design? And before answering... "no", moving from a perpetual license of 3x $15K sets of design suites to a cloud annual subscription is not a valid answer... Autodesk has gotten as much money out of me (a private individual) as they are gonna get.

Hey Tim, I'm struggling to fully get an understanding of what you're trying to achieve, do you have a video/screengrab? I think what you're trying to do can be fixed with iLogic. A simple scripting method to enable you to do configurable parts - which is exactly what it sounds like you're trying to do? Here's an overview article from Adsk website; knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2014/ENU/Inventor/files/GUID-B98DF82D-E489-4C19-8351-11C0ED63C349-htm.html

The other thing I think would be worth consdiering is using the parameters part and doing a "pattern" within the sketch, then tie that to another dimension (i.e. the legnth). Then yor multiple of the sketch (teeth) would be dependant on the length. This is taxing for parameters which is why my firt thought was iLogic. Let us know how you get on!

My teacher doesn’t tell me anything we have to learn from a program and I can’t learn like that

Hello, why is my revolved object doesn't look like a solid geometry, but when I created a simple cylinder within it, it looks like a solid object?

How do i keep working on an already saved profile?
Iv'e made a profile, done with dimensions and everything (but no centerline or dimension from profile edge to C-Line), and then saved it and opened it the day after, how do i get it to measure Dimension from the profile edge and to the centerline so it revolves and makes a hole in the middle like you did here?
Right now, Dimensions refuses to attatch to the profile. It's like clicking on nothing. And after "Finish" i can not click on the CLine to mark it as a Revlove Axis. Only the profile edge can ba marked. This shit gives me headache. Why the hell can't i just keep working on a saved file like opening a picture with paint or photoshop?

I'm on inventor professional 2021 and i have an unexplained problem. I cannot simply click on axis and select what is on screen. There is just an error message and no explanation.

What does the error message say? If you've drawn a 'centre line' then it will automatically be selected as an axis automatically.
