Marvel Studios finally announced the cast of The Fantastic Four: Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm/Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm/The Thing).
With that came a first-look image illustrated by MCU concept artist Wes Burt. While we've known about the cast for a while, the news has got everyone talking and this teaser image holds more clues than you might realise.
We can officially now say that Reed Richards will be played by Pedro Pascal, star of The Mandalorian and The Last of Us-something that has been widely speculated for some time now. Sue Storm will be portrayed by Vanessa Kirby, best known for her roles in the Mission: Impossible franchise and the recent Napoleon biopic. Johnny Storm will be played by Joseph Quinn, the breakout star of the most recent season of Stranger Things, while Ben Grimm will be played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach, fresh off his Emmy win for playing Richie/Cousin in The Bear.
There's no word yet on who will be taking on the mask and cape of Victor Von Doom, a.k.a. Doctor Doom, the longstanding nemesis of the Fantastic Four.
There have been rumblings for a while now that The Fantastic Four might be set in the 1960s. Well, that's confirmed by pretty much everything we see in the teaser image.
Does Marvel's First Family get stranded in the past? Is that where they originally hail from? If so, why have we never heard of them before? Do they perhaps come from a reality that isn't Earth-616? And can a 1960s Reed Richards still be considered a genius when he arrives in 2025? Time will tell!
The release date for The Fantastic Four has been set for July 25, 2025.

Look, I love Pedro Pascal as an actor, but he is not who I envision as Reed Richards. What happened to the guy who played Richards from the Dr Strange movie? He looked the part.
As much as it sucks, he was just a fan casting which Marvel allowed, but he was never meant to play it Reed going forward.
@@jmirvinggbooks Just a fan casting? Well, for a fan casting it was pretty damn good.
@@ajward9112 Right? That's what I'm saying! I'm so glad that Kevin Fiege approved it! I think John Krasinski really displayed Reed Richards' heart, his softness (if you get what I mean) in the short time we saw him. But even so, I'm ready for someone new. I think Pedro will either surprise us or fail.
@@jmirvinggbooks I mean, Pedro Pascal is a great actor. I'll never deny that. Hell, in a few movies I love his characters, particularly as Agent Whiskey in Kingsman. But I just can't see him as Reed Richards. Granted, this could very well be like how it was when Robert Downey Jr was cast as Iron Man, but Marvel was a whole different studio back then and to be honest, I have little faith in Disney doing this right.
