Regarding "honesty vs privacy," I think if you truly knew everything there was to know about a person's life, you'd probably side with them a lot more and develop a much greater understanding of how and why they are the way they are. That said, a lot of people are reluctant to share such things due to shame or guilt or fear of social judgment and reprisal. So while I do maintain honesty as the number 1 virtue, I also try to respect and defend people's right to privacy. Because without that complete picture, it's just gonna be messy.

On the flip side over sharing is a real thing. Is good to be open but its also not good to start a therapy session with near strangers.

Thing is Bill you can be Honest and private.. its all about timing.. you can explain things after they happen but omit some details because it could hurt someone.. and Friendship isnt just about honesty, its about being there and making sure that you both hold each other accountable

My favorite bit of Good Old Days Gaming lore is the fact you worked at thrashers by funland. You probably served me fries back in the good old days. My eternal question for thrashers is, why no ketchup? The vinegar was good on em though

Honesty is dangerous in our world where people dont love the truth. You love the truth though, you love it so much that you wont stop loving it even though it makes you suffer, you've proved that, and it does make you suffer for sure. How you feel, what youre thinking, or the things youre going through, these things are the true expressions of your humanness, they are evidence of the reality of you and the truth of yourself. To deny them or to ignore it or change it for someone or something else, is to abandon or betray your human dignity, which I think deep down you sense is divine, even if you dont understand that yet. Thats why you hate "the man", love punk, etc. because the man says give up who you are and I'll reward you with comfort in this world. if you just went along with shit or changed yourself for it you'd probably be more comfortable. But I think you sense something deeper that a lot of people dont, and that is that the truth is the only thing that really matters in the end, that things dont matter, and that our humanness and the quality of our relationships with eachother are what really matter. It doesnt mean be a dick and thrust every awkward realitiy in peoples faces, but you have an inner sense that knows when to speak up and you trust your gut. You're a very spiritually aware guy even though you dont know it. Maybe someday you will take up the calling and understand the gift you have.

    1. Why does "spike weed" sound like a drug?
    2. Oh yeah, if you've seen it, what did you think of the Direct?
    3. XD That is a very grumpy-looking squash.
    4. You know what? The pea shooters look like Bellsprout. The Pokémon, you know?
    5. Honesty or privacy? Both: leave it to an individual's discretion. Secrets are not an intrinsically negative thing, nor is telling the full truth. Which, yes, feels like a very "damp" response. Half-hearted or indecisive, rather.
    6. DOLPHIN!!! So much love.
    7. "The same thing we do every night, Pinky: TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"
    8. Fame is like a one night stand: don't confuse it for real love.
    9. Oh wow, the boss music is a bop.
    10. Fog of War strategies? Really? FUN.

I do think that honesty is the best policy but being brutally honest can come off as rude or disrespectful. I think there's a line between honesty and maintaining harmony (for lack of a better term) that one needs to strike to let the truth be known without causing too much discord and friction among the people around you, especially those you care about. Also, oversharing is a thing; you don't need to dump everything out there if a simpler statement would suffice.
There are some things that perhaps a person may decide to write down to let it be known only after they passed if they feel particular shame or embarrassment about it.
The Direct was pretty neat. MvC Collection came out of freaking nowhere, a Zelda game where you play as Zelda (with Dragon Quest Builder vibes), and Metroid Prime 4 baby!!!
