Consider this my homage to store-bought animal crackers-a long-time favorite for a lot of families, including my own. But this recipe is particularly special for me because it was my first time baking in the kitchen with George lending a helping hand!
George (and I!) adore our Sprout’s Sous Chef Toddler Tower - I’m honestly sorry I didn’t get it sooner! He is climbing up and down the tower from morning to night to help his parents at the counter. I’ll sacrifice a banana, orange, or carrot and let him stand with us and chop it up. It’s really given us all hours of entertainment, and he loves having a job to do.
These homemade animal crackers taste similar to a Graham cracker because I include whole wheat and cinnamon, and George loves them! He gets them as a potty training reward-and I get them as a reward for helping potty train! Give them a go, whether or not YOU'RE potty training at the moment. :)

Before getting married I was a nanny for a few different families! My last job was with a baby and a 2 year old! One day I decided to cook with the 2 year old - the kitchen was covered in cake batter (well, maybe not covered, but it found its way into kitchen cabinet doors etc). I had a massive clean up job to do, but it was worth it! The parents didn't know how untidy the kitchen was before they got home! 😂
It's great that you're getting George involved - start them off young! You have a budding chef there!

I think Georgie love baking too! Normally kid at his age, won't able to sit still. Probably be cranky. Even though Georgie making mess, but he still want to play with it.

oh my he is adorable! I do agree that Georgie is an awesome assistant and a fabulous roller. But I have to say you are a very very brave woman. I have two adult children and I NEVER had the guts to cook/bake with either of them at Georgie's age. In fact I didn't even know my son knew how to cook until I visited him after he graduated from the Fire Academy. My daughter is a wonderfully creative baker, for which I take NO credit, but is only now at 30 really learning how to cook meals (other than tacos, burgers and ramen).
