there are a few things that are sad about this (at least to me). First, the fact that they constantly feel sorry or guilty. The felling of burn out and wanting to grow as a person are human things. We kinda got a preview of that in Mots7 and Abyss, so I'm very happy they decided to tell us and do something about it. Second, as I said, they told us EVERYTHING about the situation and people still twisted their words. I saw many articles titled "bts are saying goodbye to their fans", "bts are disbanding" etc. it honestly makes me sick. They said "take our words as it is", "everything I wanted to say is in Yet to Come", "we're not disbanding" and yet people are still making up stupid stories. And lastly, unfortunately I spend a lot of my time on twitter and I saw some comments saying "Oh, so we cried for nothing" when people finally realised that this is not the end of bts. Like??? They shared their feelings with us and they were very vulnerable, this is still valid, and the fact that bts is not going anywhere should not overshadow the things they said. It's like people want bts to continue no matter what, even tho they know they're not happy in the place they are right now. They deserve to step back for a while to focus on what they, as individuals want to do. And if staying as a group is more important to these people than the members happiness, there's something wrong with them.
Wish I could like this comment more than once. I saw the same on twitter about 'So we cried for nothing?' and was so triggered. The reason I cried is because these boys have been going through it mentally. They're so burned out and yet they were so afraid to come to us with this and tells us about it, felt guilt over just saying the words, they're exhausted. The fact they should've done this at the end of 2020 but waited, probably for Army's sake, so we wouldn't be left reeling from both this and the pandemic, says SO much about them. That's why I cried. If one word change 'hiatus' makes all the difference in your feelings, you are crying for the wrong reason, in my opinion. The word doesn't matter to me, what they're going through does. I just want them happy and I am happy for them to finally get a chance to breathe even if this makes me sad that I won't get to see them together as much AS BTS. I don't matter though, what matters is that after having given us so much, that they take a little for themselves. Hopefully they take a LOT for themselves, but knowing them the way I do, they give us too much.
@@amaris4541 I totally agree with you. I was sad because of the same reasons. I would not want new BTS songs if I knew that behind them are just exhausted and unhappy people who are trying to please everybody around.
Jungkook even went on vlive to straighten out some things before he sang for ARMYs. From what I understand and seeing what HYBE stated... Basically, BTS are focussing on solo projects with individual albums to be released (starting with J-Hope), but meanwhile they are still doing activities as a group. Sometime after all members have released their own albums, then BTS will focus on the group music again. By doing this, it gives each member time to focus on themselves and have time for themselves because they've been together 9-10 years as one. That video of the dinner party video has mistranslations which caused the confusion. I support them in all they decide to do in their career. I'm army for life and nothing changes on my end. I already accepted the fact that I might not ever see them in concert and it's okay. It's just how life is. I'm excited for their Chapter 2 and what it will bring us.
Think about the quality of the songs we'll get in the future!!! I can't wait! Til then we'll get solos and I can catch up on stuff. It's gonna be ok. It's just a bit of a shock to slam on the breaks at this time....but I honestly surprised it didn't happen sooner. I want them to be happy...it's not goodbye, it's see you later...ya know?
Hi, friend, what's up? Unfortunately, this dinner was not as joyful as all the previous ones But the boys need this rest, they have worked hard and produced an incredibly huge amount of content all these years (10 years, posts everyday, crazy), they need to live their personal lives, gain strength and inspiration. No matter what happens, I believe them, I believe that they will keep their promises, as always, and come back even cooler than before. They chose to take a break, and not to release bad and insincere music, and I respect that. This break is a great opportunity to listen to all their old songs that you didn't have time for, watch all the old shows and videos (there are insanely many of them). I cried about it yesterday, but now I've calmed down. Their last songs after this dinner are now perceived in a completely different way, right?) I love them so much. I just started watching, hehe Can't wait for they're solo albums, btw Sorry for mistakes
Joon spoke out because he was annoyed at the information being spread, he wasn't surprised their words would get twisted but was still disappointed how much it would be. I think they are right that they are unique in a lot of ways when you look at kpop groups many members have already gone through solo promotions because many times a member joining the military or several at a time would force the group to have to pause group activates. When bts members gave us mixtapes they did so for free to us but it still cost them money to make but it was a way for them to show sides of themselves while also gifting us music. They would do mv's but not really do solo promotions like most kpop groups do. They wanted the focus to be on the group. I think most of us like myself are shocked because I thought they would try to do a concert tour before Jin would have to join the military as Jin and even Suga expressed wanting to do concerts before having to leave for the military, so I thought that's when they would be taking a break from group activities. Maybe they know something we don't, maybe Jin is leaving sooner or maybe it's as RM says as it seems to have been really hard on him especially. Tbh I always hoped they were going to try to join the military at about the same time as they hinted at something like that before so they could come back about the same time but it's possible that covid messed with that plan as well. Maybe they are now planning on having an album come out for each member in between some members leaving to serve. I was just hoping to see them in concert all together before any of them had to leave for the military as I missed my chance to see them at all for MOTS when it was canceled and now I'm kicking myself that I didn't fight harder to see them in Vegas. I mean I probably would have lost my job and gone in debt but if I'd know it was gonna be the last chance for me to see them for years I would have taken it, it would have been worth it for me.
Man I felt this to my bones. I was kicking myself after I recorded cuz it hit me the same way....like...man I missed the chance and now it's gonna be a slaughter to get tickets when they return
I feel for Hobi most right now. I can’t imagine the pressure of going first on the solo stage this summer💜🫶🏻 he will kill it but it’s got to be allot of pressure being the 1st.💜🫶🏻🌞
Random note: It seems the subtitles have been updated, in the original upload the subtitles used the word hiatus when Suga said they were “taking a temporary break now” at 21:01 in the original video. Looking forward to all members future projects both solo and as a unit and will continue to look forward to your future projects as well 👍
Sarah! I kinda figured the subtitles choice was the issue...but I didn't know if that word had been said or it was the usual subs issue....we know that now....still stings to hear, but it's for the best.
I decided to write another comment because I forgot to express my (positive) feelings about this whole situation. Honestly, I'm so incredible happy for them. I truly believe that this is something they all need and they deserve to take a break or whatever we want to call this. And I don't want to speculate about the future plans and individual members feeling, and motivations (because I don't know them and that would not be aproppriate) BUT when they said that Jin's place looks like newlywed house I just cried happy tears. Just the thought about them getting married, having someone to love or just doing what they want to but couldn't made me the happiest ever. I hope they can do whatever they want to in their lives and I'm here to support them no matter what.
As for the dinner party... I actually wasn't surprised. I watched the last 2 concerts ( as much as I could) and they were wonderful but something was missing. They had to do them here - in the US - because the one in Seoul, where they started, was actually demoralizing... I found that out from JK's VLive after the first night there. There was something about not being able to hear the audience (because of the masks and clappers and not being able to stand/dance) that just felt off to them. When RM started talking about not knowing who they were as a band anymore I thought yeah... it was the switch to the English language hits that he didn't write and that were upbeat and fun but in the end didn't really carry a lot of meaning - other than being cheers like at a baseball game. And he's a guy that writes actual literature not fluff. And now that they're older it's more important than ever to them that they make something that has value past being a summer hit. So I think when they get back to working on group music - someday - it will be a different genre. And maybe one with a little less choreography? I'm sorry but I don't think they'll ever go back to the BU... And other than a few solo songs I don't think they'll make much music with English lyrics either. (sigh) although they might give us more lines than in some of their past songs. Still, I'm looking forward to J Hope's new album and I hope a few fan cams from Lallapallosa. Stay sane, stay healthy, have fun. 💜🌹💜usa
There's literally nothing wrong with their decision. The end of Yet to Come just has so much more meaning to me now than it did the first time I saw now that we know. They knew when they made that video...like I feel it...and knowing what we know now, it just hits harder for me. Bittersweet.
while at first I was sad, especially since it was getting called a hiatus (when it's not), after hours of processing every bit of information we were given by bts in the video and bh themselves (they had to clarify because bts' words got misinterpreted a LOT) , I'm actually really happy they made this decision,, it's not like they're not with us anymore, they still are, and they still are a group, they'll still be doing group activities like episodes of RUNBTS, but atm they just feel like when it comes to making music for the group they're unable to get any ideas or words out, but when it comes to making music for themselves individually its a lot more doable and possible since they haven't really been able to show much of their individualism (so they have a lot to say in solo music),, even jungkook and namjoon this morning came to us, thru a vlive and thru weverse respectively, to tell us that they're not disbanding they're not stopping group work at all, just putting more focus on themselves as individuals while still doing some group activities, and about joons letter on wv, it's very obvious to see how frustrating it is for them to have had their words taken and used out of context and misinterpreted and made to be blown out of proportion, so I really hope that you don't see this as them separating cause they're not, and he knows armys will understand them but he just wanted to make it extra clear, which he definitely did (basically calling everyone who misused their words outsiders 😭)(like why r u in our business, this video was for armys !!!) and jhopes solo album will be the first to release next month in July!! he'll be performing in lollapalooza at the end of July which is also exciting 😆💖 these albums aren't gonna be mixtapes as they'll be getting full company promo this time! no matter what I'll always support the boys whether theyre working on a group project or solo project, and I'm excited to see new sides of them that they've been unable to express thus far ♡ 🥺
I am also excited to see them when they all decide to return. We still have solos to look forward to and a comeback when they are ready and I have a ton of content to catch up on still. I think it's a good move and it's what THEY want...so I want them to have it.
@@INF1NIT3SIN precisely 😞💖💖 it was their decision and all we can do is respect it and support it,, and as happy as I am about all this I did start crying when joon broke down (the first time I watched it) because he always tries to stay put together for us, but in that moment he was being so vulnerable and it was easy to see how important of a decision this was for them, their work has been their life thus far, and their relationship with eachother is so strong, it's family level, so yesterday was such an emotional day so it's okay if armys cried with them,,, ♡ in the future they'll definitely come back stronger than ever ♡
We just gotta think beyond 'HYBE is making them do this & that. Or not letting them go'. 1. BTS renewed their contract because they felt it was the right one for them. And when they were on that decision making process, they were already at the top of their game. They could demand anything more they want & make sure it is kept. 2. They became the most influential celebrities, the representation of Korea, or Asian musicians & all. There is huge expectation from people. People are so hypocritical, only their standards to BTS. And they were looked up by many. With this huge responsibility, burden, expectation, love, pandemic & ALL, they couldn't leave. They had to make here & there speeches. They had to be present for the people. Now pandemic is slowing down, they can take a break. And most groups do the same, people don't question anything. They take a break. They do solo promotions. But only because BTS were open about it, people see it as stg weird, twist their words to put their own narrative.
I didn't see it as a weird thing. I just know how much I'm gonna miss them AS A WHOLE...but will enjoy the solo works so much. Even when they did solos in the past, i never thought of it as the artist trying to separate...rather them wanting to push their expression in their own ways.
Btw, if we'll think about it, jungkook started to work when he was like 13-14? And he is going to live his ordinary young man life for the first time now. And all of them. I just realized
ICYMI... Jungkook was on VLive this morning (tonight in SK) and it's still up but he was very upbeat about what they're doing and they wanted to assure everyone that they aren't going to disband, they're doing group projects but they'll be working on their own stuff too. And he gave a little karaoke concert in between answering questions. Don't pay too much attention to the first "Eng sub" video trans that come out they're always jumbled but some of it gives an idea of what is meant. On Taehyung's VLive, 2 days ago, Eng subs were put on by VLive a day later and they were good. I think what is happening is that they are taking a break from new Group music and touring so that the members can sort of do their own thing. I have no doubt that they are working though because we have already seen that they are workaholics. But Jungkook sang several songs this morning - he was on for over an hour - and he really has an amazing voice. Enjoy your day. 💜🌹💜usa
RM and JHope already got their tattoos on their ankles - the 7 from MOTS7... yep - Suga's idea, but I don't know if he did one yet. And in Tae's VLive He said he was going to go with JK to get one. One more thing.... HYBE Stock dropped 27% today. 💜🌹💜usa
Ok, i finished watching, and i want to say that I'll try to be here for you as well as much as i can. I can't speak well, and i understand like 90% of what you say, but i still have a feeling that you are my friend, thank you
It's a common progress of kpop boy band. Korean generally goes to the army at the age 20. Other artists do their solo works (some bands need individual works for not being forgotten) when one member is absent because of miltary service. So they can make their careers as solo singer and as a member of group at the same time. BTS tries to start it after 10years. I think we should support them before it's too late. They have to do military service. I really want them to do something that makes them happy. And I'm so done with the rubbish press.😡😡😡 I'm so sorry for my bad English.😥😥I really want to say something.
kyj. I like when people try to leave comments. It does not matter what language you leave the comment in. I will go translate it and respond in the same language. I thank you for trying. You did very well! I know they all want the opportunity to do their service for their country. That may come in different forms, but they all want to do their part.
@@INF1NIT3SIN Thanks for understanding.💜 I mentioned korean military service just in order to explain when(or how soon?😅) male singers start their careers as a solo artist in Korea. It doesn't mean I want them to do their military service. For the their exemption from military service, it should have been announced by National Assembly by June. But it doesn't look easy.😥 I hope things go as they want.💜 Thanks💜💜💜 (I use a translator too. But sometimes it doesn't make sense.😅 )
Just a correction, kpop boybands start going to military after their peak, usually late 20s. Most if not all push it to 27/28 years old. Yes in this very manner of few being active solo and few in military and vice versa. It’s extremely hard & rare to come back all together as this process takes years and by then they’re older, have lost their charm/ability to jump around(dance) and most importantly announce a parter or family + want to be solo. Thus enlistment marks an end of a group unless they’re insanely successful.
Harika_*.....I mean...I'd say they have the largely successful thing down...so maybe....but I can see your perspective...and don't entirely disagree that it could be a possibility that it may not happen....but I also know they've kept their word to ARMY's as much as they can.....as far as the dancing goes....maybe....getting older is no joke, lol....and I'm sure we'll see changes over time....some may decide to stop dieting....or get relationships...etc....just gotta see how it unfolds
Thank you...it felt more like a hang out this time over everything...makes me miss doing Patreon stuff...but I'll have an announcement on that this weekend.

I'm crying reading y'all's comments. I just realized how powerful the end scene to Yet to Come is now that we know that they knew
💜🌹💜usa
Oh that's so good to hear! I know it was really hard for them to tell us, but I'm glad they were honest with all of us. I respect that so much!
They actually filmed life goes on mv in their dorm, if i get it right
Jin has a tent in his living room... That describes him so well)
Lol the tent thing made me laugh
RM and JHope already got their tattoos on their ankles - the 7 from MOTS7... yep - Suga's idea, but I don't know if he did one yet. And in Tae's VLive He said he was going to go with JK to get one. One more thing.... HYBE Stock dropped 27% today. 💜🌹💜usa
Sigh...the business world is so cruel.
Apobangpo!😭😭 (or afobangfo in English, means army forever bangtan forever, jungkook made (?) it)
Ok, i finished watching, and i want to say that I'll try to be here for you as well as much as i can.
I can't speak well, and i understand like 90% of what you say, but i still have a feeling that you are my friend, thank you
Always!
And I'm so done with the rubbish press.😡😡😡
I'm so sorry for my bad English.😥😥I really want to say something.
kyj. I like when people try to leave comments. It does not matter what language you leave the comment in. I will go translate it and respond in the same language. I thank you for trying. You did very well!
I know they all want the opportunity to do their service for their country. That may come in different forms, but they all want to do their part.
@@INF1NIT3SIN Thanks for understanding.💜
I mentioned korean military service just in order to explain when(or how soon?😅) male singers start their careers as a solo artist in Korea.
It doesn't mean I want them to do their military service.
For the their exemption from military service, it should have been announced by National Assembly by June. But it doesn't look easy.😥
I hope things go as they want.💜
Thanks💜💜💜
(I use a translator too.
Next time try to use words that are not in a joined form....instead of saying can't...use can not...and so on....it works out a little better.
(btw) Great reaction.
Thank you...it felt more like a hang out this time over everything...makes me miss doing Patreon stuff...but I'll have an announcement on that this weekend.
