I know they want to make the Shus into something akin to the Flamechasers and all, but I gotta say 2 out of 7 are... quite disappointing.
About that Shu of Sacrifice, all I see of him is a self suicidal psychopath, and yet at some point in the story he couldn't even remain that way. Chickening right near the end is really disgusting.
Then here comes Thelema... she pales in comparison to the other villains, or those that have villanous powers in the past... namely Otto and Vill-V.
Otto could control people with just words and schemes alone. Thelema? Through a multiple-step process of mind control. It's not even easy and convenient! If she could control others with a flick of her finger, I'll consider her super dangerous, but with how many steps it needed to pierce their resistance and then make them submit, she's just a mediocre villain. At best, she can only be what she is now - head of a family, and nothing better - not some position that her hypnotizing power can't bring her.
Why did I mention Vill-V? Because she can do anything as long as she wanted to. Thelema lack that. As for what I see, she will only do what she can do, and will never venture into anything she's not sure she can.
That's why I don't see the Shus in high regard. Not high enough to consider them equals to the flamechasers. Just a buch of Kal'tsit (from Arknights), who can surely talk high and mighty (and mystical), seem to have some super grand history, but in reality can't be very useful - if not completely useless.
