  • Young Thug trial halted pending a ruling on judge’s recusal. The judge presiding over Young Thug‘s lengthy gang and racketeering trial halted court proceedings Monday until another judge can decide whether he should remain on the case.
Several defense attorneys asked that Fulton County Chief Judge Ural Glanville be recused from the trial following a private June 10 meeting between the judge, prosecutors and state’s witness Kenneth Copeland. one of those Attorneys, Doug Weinstein, joins us for discussion on the recusal.

I don’t think people understand how immaculate and decorated of an attorney Brian Steele is and has been. He is known as one of the most successful and law savvy advocates who takes ethics and professionalism as serious as any. Not only hundreds of acquittals on murders in trial courts he has an extensive niche in appellate law and has argued over 300 appeals to both the Supreme Court of Georgia and Georgia courts of appeals and has been victorious in many. He is connected with the best lawyers in Georgia and around the country due to his dedication and love of the job he has seen the results that are rarely matched and highly respected. These big name lawyers know him and respect him, the support he’s getting
Is not just because of the chaos in this high profile case it’s because of his unblemished record as a criminal defense attorney.

I’ve watched the lead attorney off and on for a few years since he’s been on, but I guess the last two weeks I started coming over to your channel listening. I love your editing. You seem to take a lot of time and pride in making sure your content is correct your content is monetized correctly, etc. I have a background in the law but not from the court perspective from the enforcement agency perspective and I am a civilian but I assist and have been doing this for 35 years. I have always wanted to be in Attorney just because I think they’re so intelligent when it comes to, just overall life knowledge and after watching this sector, I am even more encouraged to attend law school I’m about to retire in about four months so I’m thinking I’m gonna go to law School here in Los Angeles even if I don’t practice but use it for other entertainment business or real estate business ventures. They are trying to pretend that because Melnick said in the email they were going to get him killed that that means Woody was being threatened and feared for his life even though Woody never said he id and Bumpus told them that wasn't his concern. The judge is hoping the appellate court and recusal judge will buy that as the excuse for why the meeting was proper. I don't think it will work! Thank you so much for staying on late to share the transcript AV! You're the best! After following you for several weeks on this case, here's what I think. Judge Glanville didn't really feel that it would be wrong to conduct a meeting with a witness to explain why they don't have the ability to claim the 5th & get off (since the prosecution used a nasty little workaround - immunity - to remove their ability to get off) without testifying. I think that, in many cases, & with proper full time counsel, that may be true.
However, there's an elephant in the room here that nobody has addressed & I even wonder if the defense attorney's will catch on.
Little Woody, not understanding what this all was about, acted on his own (I'm def not believing that he and Ms Bumpus talked for a full 45 minutes, no way in heck!), without counsel's advice.
Then, in front of the entire court, displayed obvious signs of some level of cognitive impairment! This cannot be right! Let's be real, who hasn't wondered if Little Woody might have been dropped on his noggin when he was little?
I am NOT being meanheated, in fact, my entire heart goes out to this young man. He's scared for his life & he openly said he isn't uncomfortable staying in jail but also displayed a great deal of trepidation at the same time, so the prosecution behaved as if he was only afraid of going to jail, and then led him on like, "Ok if you don't say you're afraid for your life, we aren't responsible for what happens to you!" -- but they were obviously NOT cognitively impaired! That's a bald ass set up if you ask me! Free Little Woody...and send him to live somewhere like Hawaii with a bodyguard dammit!

I just re-watched the June 7th court proceedings the last 2 hours, in which Copeland gets placed in contempt for Pleading the 5th. I realized when the court was closing for the day Mrs Love advises the Court there's an item she would like to take ex parte. Seems the prosecution and the court planned on meeting with Copeland since that Friday but still failed to notify the Defense. Additionally, it was kind of either brilliant or karmic coincidence that Woody in what seemed like an attempt to end the pressuring to testify from the court after being granted immunity, agreed knowing that he would plead the 5th. Thus making him a sworn witness, if even for just a brief moment. Hence the whole ex parte fiasco that followed. This trial is better than any fictional storyline that Hollywood can come up with, pure gold, but also sad in witnessing the degradation and corruption from those who should be seeking justice.

Attorney Steel continues to whip his stuff out and show the court how large his ballz are. I want him and Karen Read's attorney Alan Jackson if I ever end up needing a defense attorney.

I don't think he don't too much wrong, in term is his engagement with woody.
Just the transcript don't provide insight into the environment but he definitely kept his input to the minimal and explained legal terms....
I can't see him getting thrown out for this although he did take the wrong action

AV I really enjoy when you're on with Lead Attorney and I also really enjoy your channel! Loved the interview with Doug Weinstein but I was a bit frustrated with how many times you interrupt him (for example the whole interjection of the Tate document) in the process of him trying to answer your question. He literally tries several times to continue talking but realizes that you're not going to stop talking so he just sort of gives up. I say this not as a criticism but as a critique to hopefully bring about any improvements necessary to make your channel the best it could possibly be! So I hope that what I said was not offensive because it certainly was not meant to be! I think if you watch your interview you'll understand what I'm saying.

Thanks Trish, it is not a great feeling to get negative feedback everyday but it makes one stronger to push through it.
