Tim Palmer was deeply patronising to the point of offensiveness in the chair today. He appeared to have no clue that it wasn't just his tone that was sneering, but his body language - the leaning his knee on the desk as he answered one of Stein's questions at the end; the villainous smirks as he replied to Angela Patrick, Jo Hamilton's lawyer. He refused to answer simple questions with a Yes or No. He enjoyed the sound of his voice and being centre-stage. He patronised the entire court, but he'll probably be sitting at home with a glass of fine wine congratulating himself on a "bloody marvellous" performance whilst the rest of us wonder how in hell any of these people took on executive positions and try and find those clips where Beer put him right in his place (moments of golden genius - all done with a straight face)

Listening to a lot of this scandal I think the post office chairs, boards, managers and investigators have brought the late Queen and now the King into disrepute as they used their names as the prosecutors of these innocent people and in my view the King is the top of the tree as he must be aware of all that has been going on or does him take the same stance ( nothing to do with me), this I feel damages the kings position in this country.

Bet he spent more time spending the money than the one and a half days he supposedly worked. The “energetic” chair presided over a cover up. No escaping that fact. Maybe if he’d spent 2 and a half days he might have uncovered the crooks were not in the post offices but in the corporate building.

I assume that he was non exec chairman, as chairmen usually are.
Then that one and half days is more than the normal two days a month.
Incidentally, it is incumbent on non execs to make themselves familiar with all aspects of the business.

He didn't much care for Mr Beer's questions on the amount of time he "worked" did he? After pointing out he had a massive workload at the
Post Office which meant he couldn't focus on Horizon problems, Mr B revealed Mr Parker wanted to go to 2 days a month from 1 1/2 days a week. This former Chairman apparantly gets more done by reducing the time he works by 66%.
