This is a great interview of Dave. Great questions to ask as well. I'm definitely looking forward to the new album after hearing these new songs, and I would be even if I hadn't! Can't wait for them to come around again!
Daves playing on the last album was unreal. I think having Chris in the band has improved Dave. Not that he needed improvement, just listen to the last album. He's working his ass off! No matter how old he gets, he's still better than kirk hands down! Fuck yeah ! Looking forward to the new stuff. Never said that about a metallic album after black. Dave rules!
I don't adhere to Christianity as Dave does, however what he said at 12:30 is a universal truth we can all agree upon, especially with respect to music. A very important point that I'm glad that Dave mentions.
Waiting 10 minutes just to hear Dave talking nice about Kirk just made my day. Well, he didn`t actually talked nice, but at least he didn`t attacked him as he usually did
Man! Dave looks like he haven't had rest, all he does to satisfy the fans, Megadeth is getting more powerful and stronger just like in RIP. The thirteen album is going to be the next RIP
I think its pretty cool that Kirk asked if Dave wanted to play the solo in Helpless, and that Dave didn't talk shit about him like he used to. Pretty cool of Kirk and Dave
Dave was so fucking awesome at sonisphere, they were fucking amazing and chris broderick literally played every fucking note flawlessly with no dead notes at all. It was like watching a fucking computer go through binary code, hes so fucking insane
@EADPE I was actually at Soniphere Knebworth and watched Megadeth and I can tell you that Dave was amazing, I had never seen him as good on stage as that day and it probally took it out of him for the rest of the day lol.
@HurricaneTBag actually in an interview he said he was going to retire very soon because hes tired, his body hurts, and he wants to live life with his family. So this might very well be the last
you guys saying he's aged etc...yea, he has - he's 52 now (49 or so, here) . Do you think you're gonna look the same in 20 to 30 years from now? Here, he looks like he's carrying a few xtra pounds , not "fat", but not in the better shape he's been in. That said, when you put on even 12 to 15lbs , at an older age, you LOOK several yrs older than you chronologically are. I guarantee you if he got back in "fighting shape" (as he HAS been in the past) he would look younger than being in his 50's. BUt you have to remember it takes longer to get back in shape at an older age & when you're a PROFESSIONAL musician it's not so easy to stay in shape on the road, much less get in shape. Give the guy a break, at least he's still got credibility & integrity...unlike that crap band....what's their name again...?
@Dflake68 Well, Metallica used half of Dave Mustaine's songs and all his riffs for Kill 'Em All. Not only that but Metallica and Megadeth are two very different bands now
OH MY FUCKIN GODD THE NEW ALBUM IS COMMING OUT NOVEMBER 1ST!@@!!@!?? OMFGGGG THATS MY BIRTHDAYYY!!!!!! BEST FUCKIN BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER! I LOVEE YOUUUUU MEGADETHHHHHHHHHH AND YOU TOOO DAVEEE FUCK YEAH XD.
I was expecting some philosophy on how music should be about emotions, but instead I see that there was an argument that seems to continue even though Mustaine had gotten over it.
He's not too bad for 50. Think about it: drugs, alcohol, touring(not sleeping well) not counting many other things that only he knows!! People grow old and even though ..Dave kind of looks young to me, because he still have hair, and that's an advantage, plus he has peace in his heart I can see!!
@canadaboy23 Yeah, that was pretty cool seeing Dave do the solo and then Kirk playing a little doodle afterwords. Nice to see the hatchet buried between the two.
I was watching this with my dad ( He got married my mom aka his first ex wife in a megadeth shirt) and also hes a huge fan of purple rain. When he saw the singer of his favorite band in the world quote his favorite movie of all time. His face was too priceless.
"I don't want to say anything bad about another company, but there's a sound that this other company has, you know, with this rectifying kind of stuff..." That's just like when he said "I'm not gonna name anybody... but we'll say panther in Spanish."
Oh,and the Helpless solo was fucked up because Kirk was supposed to do it,but at the last minute Kirk offered it to Dave.Dave accepted, but no one told the sounds engineers,so it came out sounding off,and also caused Kirk to join in late.
@vlmmosto Critics and fans are happy because Megadeth stick to their strengths, that isn't the same as saying they are repetative, which is what Metallica have been suffering from much more.
Metallica put up a video from met-on-tour..of them playing helpess and increased the volume level of daves guitar. The audio must of been taken from the soundboard.
@oblivionFC I think he was just being modest, I've heard him say he's not that great of a soloist and stuff like that, he knows he's good, for god sakes he was named the number 1 metal guitarist in Mcivers book, I just think he says stuff like that to avoid looking cocky, it's only my opinion but there's no way that guy "barely practices" like he says
@rampage222555 Yeah, Dave says lots of things. He's not the explosive dick he used to be but he's still a very mercurial person, but in a different way than he used to be. He'll take a break, but he definitely won't retire. He's bringing back Gigantour next year, he's getting big again...almost as big as he used to be in the 80s and the RIP era. There's too much momentum behind this guy and Megadeth, he'll take a break but he's not going to quit.
great interview. Yeah Dave looks aged, sadly, but, everyone ages. But his playing hasn't aged at all :)) And he was really cool during the interview, i'm glad he's finally at peace with his old demons
i would love to animate little graphics saying "plug! plug! plug!" in this vid when he talks about marshall..... not that there's anything wrong about that....
I fucking love this man.
This is a great interview of Dave. Great questions to ask as well. I'm definitely looking forward to the new album after hearing these new songs, and I would be even if I hadn't! Can't wait for them to come around again!
Can't wait for the new album! It's gonna be great! :D

Can't wait for the new record!
omg i need to hear this new song
he‘s living for megadeth and diying for megadeth what a great man ¡ real artist
Man, he is such a great storyteller and really deep guy. Aged very well for sure.
The thirteen album is going to be the next RIP
woah hes changed i watched an interview from the 90s and wow huge difference.
this album is gonna kick so much fucking ass i really cannot wait!!!
he is great.
i loved the 80's you can't go back though but metal will never be the same!
i met him and the band last year amazin guys
god i love reading aboot metallica/megadeth arguments. they make my day
dave seems happy. thats awesome
I think its pretty cool that Kirk asked if Dave wanted to play the solo in Helpless, and that Dave didn't talk shit about him like he used to. Pretty cool of Kirk and Dave
i love how dave and kirk, and the rest of the big 4 are getting along. im tired of all the fanboys bitchin bout which band is better. their all great
that would have been awesome if it was released in September. New Anthrax and new Megadeth for my birthday present :D
Dave was so fucking awesome at sonisphere, they were fucking amazing and chris broderick literally played every fucking note flawlessly with no dead notes at all. It was like watching a fucking computer go through binary code, hes so fucking insane
@EADPE I was actually at Soniphere Knebworth and watched Megadeth and I can tell you that Dave was amazing, I had never seen him as good on stage as that day and it probally took it out of him for the rest of the day lol.
hi looks nice. like many years ago.
thats cool.
dave forever!
did anyone else notice that if you hit an arrow key while the video is loading that the little loading spinning thing turns into the snake game?
dave truly is a good guy.
Dave's one of the few who can do both at the same time.
@HurricaneTBag actually in an interview he said he was going to retire very soon because hes tired, his body hurts, and he wants to live life with his family. So this might very well be the last
i want a dave mustaine lesson! :D
@ChrisJTowers
Yeah exactly, he just needs a break. He was just touring and then immediately after had to go into the studio.
After years and years of looking like he was 30,he's finally starting to look his age.
dave is a very polite person
you guys saying he's aged etc...yea, he has - he's 52 now (49 or so, here) . Do you think you're gonna look the same in 20 to 30 years from now? Kirk and Dave don't hate each other, Dave has grown up and isn't immature anymore.
@bonuzround first thing i thought was Line 6, he used them on United Abominations
4:50 Mustaine fucking awesome voice!
08:10 dave obviously talking about mesa boogie! im not keen on the rectifiers either! but the mesa boogie mk iic' are great as are the mk4' .
@oblivionFC i watched the helpless video live and could even hear mustaines solo at all
seriously he has a reason to be so fucking proud :)
Dave is the baddest man on the planet!!!
@oblivionFC in the actual song helpless, theres no solo, he pretty much improvised it.
What a fucking lovely dude.
@Dflake68 Well, Metallica used half of Dave Mustaine's songs and all his riffs for Kill 'Em All. Not only that but Metallica and Megadeth are two very different bands now
Dave rulz!
Dave is the fuckin man!
@evilpancakeman It's probably that little Marshall amp at 1:30 to the left.
I was expecting some philosophy on how music should be about emotions, but instead I see that there was an argument that seems to continue even though Mustaine had gotten over it.
WHY DIDNT I GET THIS IN MY SUB BOX!?
@EADPE Hes 50something, And hes still fucking headbanging and kicking ass!
we need another (longer) interview with nardwuar the human surviett, he did the best megadeth interview ever and it way way way too short
DUDE HE MANAGES BAPTIZED IN BLOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 there fucking great
he is the best guitarist in ever
He's not too bad for 50. Think about it: drugs, alcohol, touring(not sleeping well) not counting many other things that only he knows!! People grow old and even though ..Dave kind of looks young to me, because he still have hair, and that's an advantage, plus he has peace in his heart I can see!!
@canadaboy23 Yeah, that was pretty cool seeing Dave do the solo and then Kirk playing a little doodle afterwords. Nice to see the hatchet buried between the two.
I would kill to meet Dave Mustaine & Jimmy Page. My life would be complete.
@jjd81726354 It's probably a release of a full song from the album. I saw that too
@Midnightryder7
So are you and everyone else!
@ThatGuyAtTheRockShow if you think so.. its your opinion after all!
It's a wonder Dave can even speak and do an interview right after a gig with the way he sings.
I was watching this with my dad ( He got married my mom aka his first ex wife in a megadeth shirt) and also hes a huge fan of purple rain. When he saw the singer of his favorite band in the world quote his favorite movie of all time. His face was too priceless.
quality guy
Metal Legend...
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE!!!!!
imagine if they kept the track where Dave freaks out at the ghost
"I don't want to say anything bad about another company, but there's a sound that this other company has, you know, with this rectifying kind of stuff..." That's just like when he said "I'm not gonna name anybody... but we'll say panther in Spanish."

To be honest, looking at Dave's state now, after this tour Megaeth should stay in Hiatus for half or 1 year
the other company must be Mesa Boogie!!!
(key word:Rectifing)
I can't see what Poland or Menza said anymore "Maddog Dave"
@vlmmosto Critics and fans are happy because Megadeth stick to their strengths, that isn't the same as saying they are repetative, which is what Metallica have been suffering from much more.
@HurricaneTBag hes bringing back gigantour? when did he say that?
@EADPE can tell you he doesn't... saw him at the sonisphere, was a crazy ass performance, way better that what he used to do these 15 last years
i almost cried 10:40 and lol look at dave's hand 10:33
Metallica put up a video from met-on-tour..of them playing helpess and increased the volume level of daves guitar. The audio must of been taken from the soundboard.
@bonuzround yea and probably most other companies except marshall :P
@oblivionFC I think he was just being modest, I've heard him say he's not that great of a soloist and stuff like that, he knows he's good, for god sakes he was named the number 1 metal guitarist in Mcivers book, I just think he says stuff like that to avoid looking cocky, it's only my opinion but there's no way that guy "barely practices" like he says
at 0:50 he immitates him "Process" xD
simplemente el mejor
"You can't put a horse away wet"
WHAT?!?!?!??!?! I love his music, but he is clearly off his rocker.
I wanna be Dave´s pick!!!
@rampage222555 Yeah, Dave says lots of things. He's not the explosive dick he used to be but he's still a very mercurial person, but in a different way than he used to be. @MetalheadSteven
we all are.
Seems like a nice chap.
baptized in blood is awesome!
i can't believe people are wasting time talking about his age instead of enjoying the interview.
5:58 Why is Dave walking in on Chris showering?
@crovian1985 Yea, because he plays thrash metal and it stops the fast growing old.
hes getting chubs!
i would love to animate little graphics saying "plug! plug! plug!" in this vid when he talks about marshall..... not that there's anything wrong about that....
can anyone give me a summary of the interview in italian?
Hes sure changed a lot
they're releasing a record this year?:o
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't he manage "Bonded by Blood", not "Baptized in Blood"?
@EADPE He's been doing a loooot of touring, plus the new record. He's bound to be tired.
Dave Mustaine looks old now hes getting on few years ago he looked much different!
i wonder what what was going on in those ppls minds that were behind that blind not knowing that dave mustaine was in the next room
apparently dave is Garth from waynes world...
Bahaha.
'What kind of exercises do you do before stage?'
XD
