So I'm surprised the original photographer/artist for Pungent Stenches & Devourment's first few album covers (For God Your Soul, Been Caught Buttering & Molesting The Decapitated) never gets his actual name mentioned or talked about. His name is JOEL PETER-WITKIN, check his art out, he's an American photographer that did most of his work and lived in New Mexico in the 70s & 80s, and yes, most of his subjects were cadavers and a lot of extreme BDSM models not unlike Robert Maplethorpe for his extreme portraits at that time period, in fact all of the original CD inlay booklet photos of Devourment's Molesting the Decapitated are his photos, he has published a few art house photo books that are hard to find. When I first bought my copy of the 'Molesting The Decapitated' CD a week before it's official release from Hound himself who owns Corpsegristle records out here in Dallas TX in 1999, I saw the cover art and was blown away! Hound told me that it was a stolen crime photo that was used for the cover photo, but years later in 2005 I worked at a bookstore in ABQ NM and stumbled upon one of Joel Peter-Witkin's art books and found all of Pungent's and Devourment's photo art in there. Definitely intense stuff!

He’s said many times that performing live is basically his life blood. He must be in really bad shape. His health has been on a major decline over the last few years Reminds of some famous lifeguard that was deaf but had razor sharp vision and swam for miles every day cuz he loved the ocean and swimming. Near the end of his life he developed some illness which prevented him from swimming and he died just a couple weeks later. That’s how I want to go out tho. Do what I love until my body says no, then I’ll just lay down and take my eternal rest.

When Butchered released I preferred it, and for a couple of decades, it was my favorite CC album. Now in my 50s I definitely prefer Eaten. The trashiness is actually what makes it better, less monotonous, more catchy, more hook. I went full circle in my musical taste and landed on a hybrid of thrash, deathmetal and grindcore all mixed into one sound I call Thrashing Deathgrind aka (from Ghoul) Splatter Thrash.
Martin is SO TRUE...I saw them on Stonehenge Festival 2016 "without knowing them etc" and they smashed me, I hope to see you on Brutal Assault 2025 with your telecaster!!
I saw stench in 94 with brutal truth and still remember them coming out with ZZ Top shirts and doing a ZZ Top cover, they sucked live but I was a big fan of the first disc and was like wtf on the buttering disc and the ep with the mentors cover

He's been the guitarist & vocalist from the very beginning, and a song writer. I'm sure Wank may have came up w the name maybe & alot of the concepts, but these guys are both founding members.
